1 Д авид, состарившись и насытившись, воцарил над Израилем сына своего Соломона.

And David is old, and satisfied with days, and causeth his son Solomon to reign over Israel,

2 И собрал всех князей Израилевых и священников и левитов,

and gathereth all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;

3 и исчислены были левиты, от тридцати лет и выше, и было число их, считая поголовно, тридцать восемь тысяч человек.

and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand.

4 И з них для дела в доме Господнем двадцать четыре тысячи, писцов же и судей шесть тысяч,

Of these to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand,

5 и четыре тысячи привратников, и четыре тысячи прославляющих Господа на орудиях, которые он сделал для прославления.

and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Jehovah, `with instruments that I made for praising,'

6 И разделил их Давид на череды по сынам Левия--Гирсону, Каафу и Мерари.

And David distributeth them into courses: Of the sons of Levi: of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

7 И з Гирсонян--Лаедан и Шимей.

Of the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.

8 С ыновья Лаедана: первый Иехиил, Зефам и Иоиль, трое.

Sons of Laadan: the head Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9 С ыновья Шимея: Шеломиф, Хазиил и Гаран, трое. Они главы поколений Лаедановых.

Sons of Shimei Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three; these heads of the fathers of Laadan.

10 Е ще сыновья Шимея: Иахаф, Зиза, Иеуш и Берия. Это сыновья Шимея, четверо.

And sons of Shimei Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these sons of Shimei, four.

11 И ахаф был главным, Зиза вторым; Иеуш и Берия имели детей немного, и потому они были в одном счете при доме отца.

And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.

12 С ыновья Каафа: Амрам, Ицгар, Хеврон и Озиил, четверо.

Sons of Kohath Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13 С ыновья Амрама: Аарон и Моисей. Аарон отделен был на посвящение ко Святому Святых, он и сыновья его, на веки, чтобы совершать курение пред лицем Господа, чтобы служить Ему и благословлять именем Его на веки.

Sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the holy of holies, he and his sons -- unto the age, to make perfume before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name -- unto the age.

14 А Моисей, человек Божий, сыновья его причтены к колену Левиину.

As to Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.

15 С ыновья Моисея: Гирсон и Елиезер.

Sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.

16 С ыновья Гирсона: первый был Шевуил.

Sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.

17 С ыновья Елиезера были: первый Рехавия. И не было у Елиезера других сыновей; у Рехавии же было очень много сыновей.

And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.

18 С ыновья Ицгара: первый Шеломиф.

Sons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.

19 С ыновья Хеврона: первый Иерия и второй Амария, третий Иахазиил и четвертый Иекамам.

Sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

20 С ыновья Озиила: первый Миха и второй Ишшия.

Sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah, the second.

21 С ыновья Мерарины: Махли и Муши. Сыновья Махлия: Елеазар и Кис.

Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

22 И умер Елеазар, и не было у него сыновей, а только дочери; и взяли их за себя сыновья Киса, братья их.

And Eleazar dieth, and he had no sons, but daughters, and sons of Kish their brethren take them.

23 С ыновья Мушия: Махли, Едер и Иремоф--трое.

Sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.

24 В от сыновья Левиины, по домам отцов их, главы семейств, по именному счислению их поголовно, которые отправляли дела служения в доме Господнем, от двадцати лет и выше.

These sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their polls, doing the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from a son of twenty years and upward,

25 И бо Давид сказал: Господь, Бог Израилев, дал покой народу Своему и водворил его в Иерусалиме на веки,

for David said, `Jehovah, God of Israel, hath given rest to His people, and He doth tabernacle in Jerusalem unto the age;'

26 и левитам не нужно носить скинию и всякие вещи ее для служения в ней.

and also of the Levites, `None to bear the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service;'

27 П осему, по последним повелениям Давида, исчислены левиты от двадцати лет и выше,

for by the last words of David they the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,

28 ч тоб они были при сынах Аароновых, для служения дому Господню, во дворе и в пристройках, для соблюдения чистоты всего святилища и для исполнения всякой службы при доме Божием,

for their station at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,

29 д ля наблюдения за хлебами предложения и пшеничною мукою для хлебного приношения и пресными лепешками, за печеным, жареным и за всякою мерою и весом,

and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all measure and measure;

30 и чтобы становились каждое утро благодарить и славословить Господа, также и вечером,

and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Jehovah, and so at evening;

31 и при всех всесожжениях, возносимых Господу в субботы, в новомесячия и в праздники по числу, как предписано о них, --постоянно пред лицем Господа,

and for all the burnt-offerings -- burnt-offerings to Jehovah for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Jehovah.

32 и чтобы охраняли скинию откровения и святилище и сынов Аароновых, братьев своих, при службах дому Господню.

And they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Jehovah.
