1 И так, Израиль, слушай постановления и законы, которые я научаю вас исполнять, дабы вы были живы, и пошли и наследовали ту землю, которую Господь, Бог отцов ваших, дает вам.

`And now, Israel, hearken unto the statutes, and unto the judgments which I am teaching you to do, so that ye live, and have gone in, and possessed the land which Jehovah God of your fathers is giving to you.

2 н е прибавляйте к тому, что я заповедую вам, и не убавляйте от того; соблюдайте заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, которые я вам заповедую.

Ye do not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor diminish from it, to keep the commands of Jehovah your God which I am commanding you.

3 Г лаза ваши видели, что сделал Господь с Ваал--Фегором: всякого человека, последовавшего Ваал-Фегору, истребил Господь, Бог твой, из среды тебя;

`Your eyes are seeing that which Jehovah hath done in Baal-Peor, for every man who hath gone after Baal-Peor, Jehovah thy God hath destroyed him from thy midst;

4 а вы, прилепившиеся к Господу, Богу вашему, живы все доныне.

and ye who are cleaving to Jehovah your God, alive, all of you, to-day.

5 В от, я научил вас постановлениям и законам, как повелел мне Господь, Бог мой, дабы вы так поступали в той земле, в которую вы вступаете, чтоб овладеть ею;

`See, I have taught you statutes and judgments, as Jehovah my God hath commanded me -- to do so, in the midst of the land whither ye are going in to possess it;

6 и так храните и исполняйте их, ибо в этом мудрость ваша и разум ваш пред глазами народов, которые, услышав о всех сих постановлениях, скажут: только этот великий народ есть народ мудрый и разумный.

and ye have kept and done (for it your wisdom and your understanding) before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these statutes, and they have said, Only, a people wise and understanding this great nation.

7 И бо есть ли какой великий народ, к которому боги были бы столь близки, как близок к нам Господь, Бог наш, когда ни призовем Его?

`For which the great nation that hath God near unto it, as Jehovah our God, in all we have called unto him?

8 и есть ли какой великий народ, у которого были бы такие справедливые постановления и законы, как весь закон сей, который я предлагаю вам сегодня?

and which the great nation which hath righteous statutes and judgments according to all this law which I am setting before you to-day?

9 Т олько берегись и тщательно храни душу твою, чтобы тебе не забыть тех дел, которые видели глаза твои, и чтобы они не выходили из сердца твоего во все дни жизни твоей; и поведай о них сынам твоим и сынам сынов твоих, --

`Only, take heed to thyself, and watch thy soul exceedingly, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from thy heart, all days of thy life; and thou hast made them known to thy sons, and to thy sons' sons.

10 о том дне, когда ты стоял пред Господом, Богом твоим, при Хориве, и когда сказал Господь мне: собери ко Мне народ, и Я возвещу им слова Мои, из которых они научатся бояться Меня во все дни жизни своей на земле и научат сыновей своих.

`The day when thou hast stood before Jehovah thy God in Horeb -- in Jehovah's saying unto me, Assemble to Me the people, and I cause them to hear My words, so that they learn to fear Me all the days that they are alive on the ground, and their sons they teach; --

11 В ы приблизились и стали под горою, а гора горела огнем до самых небес, тьма, облако и мрак.

and ye draw near and stand under the mountain, and the mountain is burning with fire unto the heart of the heavens -- darkness, cloud, yea, thick darkness:

12 И говорил Господь к вам из среды огня; глас слов вы слышали, но образа не видели, а только глас;

`And Jehovah speaketh unto you out of the midst of the fire; a voice of words ye are hearing and a similitude ye are not seeing, only a voice;

13 и объявил Он вам завет Свой, который повелел вам исполнять, десятословие, и написал его на двух каменных скрижалях;

and He declareth to you His covenant, which He hath commanded you to do, the Ten Matters, and He writeth them upon two tables of stone.

14 и повелел мне Господь в то время научить вас постановлениям и законам, дабы вы исполняли их в той земле, в которую вы входите, чтоб овладеть ею.

`And me hath Jehovah commanded at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, for your doing them in the land whither ye are passing over to possess it;

15 Т вердо держите в душах ваших, что вы не видели никакого образа в тот день, когда говорил к вам Господь на Хориве из среды огня,

and ye have been very watchful of your souls, for ye have not seen any similitude in the day of Jehovah's speaking unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

16 д абы вы не развратились и не сделали себе изваяний, изображений какого-либо кумира, представляющих мужчину или женщину,

lest ye do corruptly, and have made to you a graven image, a similitude of any figure, a form of male or female --

17 и зображения какого-либо скота, который на земле, изображения какой-либо птицы крылатой, которая летает под небесами,

a form of any beast which in the earth -- a form of any winged bird which flieth in the heavens --

18 и зображения какого-либо, ползающего по земле, изображения какой-либо рыбы, которая в водах ниже земли;

a form of any creeping thing on the ground -- a form of any fish which in the waters under the earth;

19 и дабы ты, взглянув на небо и увидев солнце, луну и звезды все воинство небесное, не прельстился и не поклонился им и не служил им, так как Господь, Бог твой, уделил их всем народам под всем небом.

`And lest thou lift up thine eyes towards the heavens, and hast seen the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and thou hast been forced, and hast bowed thyself to them, and served them, which Jehovah thy God hath apportioned to all the peoples under the whole heavens.

20 А вас взял Господь и вывел вас из печи железной, из Египта, дабы вы были народом Его удела, как это ныне.

`And you hath Jehovah taken, and He is bringing you out from the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be to Him for a people -- an inheritance, as this day.

21 И Господь прогневался на меня за вас, и клялся, что я не перейду за Иордан и не войду в ту добрую землю, которую Господь, Бог твой, дает тебе в удел;

`And Jehovah hath shewed himself wroth with me because of your words, and sweareth to my not passing over the Jordan, and to my not going in unto the good land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- an inheritance;

22 я умру в сей земле, не перейдя за Иордан, а вы перейдете и овладеете тою доброю землею.

for I am dying in this land; I am not passing over the Jordan, and ye are passing over, and have possessed this good land.

23 Б ерегитесь, чтобы не забыть вам завета Господа, Бога вашего, который Он поставил с вами, и чтобы не делать себе кумиров, изображающих что-либо, как повелел тебе Господь, Бог твой;

`Take heed to yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He hath made with you, and have made to yourselves a graven image, a similitude of anything which Jehovah thy God hath charged thee:

24 и бо Господь, Бог твой, есть огнь поядающий, Бог ревнитель.

for Jehovah thy God is a fire consuming -- a zealous God.

25 Е сли же родятся у тебя сыны и сыны у сынов, и, долго жив на земле, вы развратитесь и сделаете изваяние, изображающее что-либо, и сделаете зло сие пред очами Господа, Бога вашего, и раздражите Его,

`When thou begettest sons and sons' sons, and ye have become old in the land, and have done corruptly, and have made a graven image, a similitude of anything, and have done the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him to anger: --

26 т о свидетельствуюсь вам сегодня небом и землею, что скоро потеряете землю, для наследования которой вы переходите за Иордан; не пробудете много времени на ней, но погибнете;

I have caused to testify against you this day the heavens and the earth, that ye do perish utterly hastily from off the land whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it; ye do not prolong days upon it, but are utterly destroyed;

27 и рассеет вас Господь по народам, и останетесь в малом числе между народами, к которым отведет вас Господь;

and Jehovah hath scattered you among the peoples, and ye have been left few in number among the nations, whither Jehovah leadeth you,

28 и будете там служить богам, сделанным руками человеческими из дерева и камня, которые не видят и не слышат, и не едят и не обоняют.

and ye have served there gods, work of man's hands, wood and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 Н о когда ты взыщешь там Господа, Бога твоего, то найдешь, если будешь искать Его всем сердцем твоим и всею душею твоею.

`And -- ye have sought from thence Jehovah thy God, and hast found, when thou seekest Him with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,

30 К огда ты будешь в скорби, и когда все это постигнет тебя в последствие времени, то обратишься к Господу, Богу твоему, и послушаешь гласа Его.

in distress to thee, and all these things have found thee, in the latter end of the days, and thou hast turned back unto Jehovah thy God, and hast hearkened to His voice;

31 Г осподь, Бог твой, есть Бог милосердый; Он не оставит тебя и не погубит тебя, и не забудет завета с отцами твоими, который Он клятвою утвердил им.

for a merciful God Jehovah thy God; He doth not fail thee, nor destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers, which He hath sworn to them.

32 И бо спроси у времен прежних, бывших прежде тебя, с того дня, в который сотворил Бог человека на земле, и от края неба до края неба: бывало ли что-нибудь такое, как сие великое дело, или слыхано ли подобное сему?

`For, ask, I pray thee, at the former days which have been before thee, from the day that God prepared man on the earth, and from the end of the heavens even unto the end of the heavens, whether there hath been as this great thing -- or hath been heard like it?

33 с лышал ли народ глас Бога, говорящего из среды огня, и остался жив, как слышал ты?

Hath a people heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, thou -- and doth live?

34 и ли покушался ли бог пойти, взять себе народ из среды народа казнями, знамениями и чудесами, и войною, и рукою крепкою, и мышцею высокою, и великими ужасами, как сделал для вас Господь, Бог ваш, в Египте пред глазами твоими?

Or hath God tried to go in to take to Himself, a nation from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great terrors -- according to all that Jehovah your God hath done to you, in Egypt, before your eyes?

35 Т ебе дано видеть, чтобы ты знал, что Господь есть Бог, нет еще кроме Его;

Thou, thou hast been shewn, to know that Jehovah He God; there is none else besides Him.

36 с неба дал Он слышать тебе глас Свой, дабы научить тебя, и на земле показал тебе великий огнь Свой, и ты слышал слова Его из среды огня;

`From the heavens He hath caused thee to hear His voice, to instruct thee, and on earth He hath shewed thee His great fire, and His words thou hast heard out of the midst of the fire.

37 и так как Он возлюбил отцов твоих и избрал, потомство их после них, то и вывел тебя Сам великою силою Своею из Египта,

`And because that He hath loved thy fathers, He doth also fix on their seed after them, and doth bring thee out, in His presence, by His great power, from Egypt:

38 ч тобы прогнать от лица твоего народы, которые больше и сильнее тебя, ввести тебя дать тебе землю их в удел, как это ныне.

to dispossess nations greater and stronger than thou, from thy presence, to bring thee in to give to thee their land -- an inheritance, as this day.

39 И так знай ныне и положи на сердце твое, что Господь есть Бог на небе вверху и на земле внизу, нет еще;

`And thou hast known to-day, and hast turned back unto thy heart, that Jehovah He God, in the heavens above, and on the earth beneath -- there is none else;

40 и храни постановления Его и заповеди Его, которые я заповедую тебе ныне, чтобы хорошо было тебе и сынам твоим после тебя, и чтобы ты много времени пробыл на той земле, которую Господь, Бог твой, дает тебе навсегда.

and thou hast kept His statutes and His commands which I am commanding thee to-day, so that it is well to thee, and to thy sons after thee, and so that thou prolongest days on the ground which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- all the days.'

41 Т огда отделил Моисей три города по эту сторону Иордана на восток солнца,

Then Moses separateth three cities beyond the Jordan, towards the sun-rising,

42 ч тоб убегал туда убийца, который убьет ближнего своего без намерения, не быв врагом ему ни вчера, ни третьего дня, чтоб, убежав в один из этих городов, остался жив:

for the fleeing thither of the man-slayer, who slayeth his neighbour unknowingly, and he is not hating him heretofore, and he hath fled unto one of these cities, and he hath lived:

43 Б ецер в пустыне, на равнине в Рувимовом, и Рамоф в Галааде в Гадовом, и Голан в Васане в Манассиином.

Bezer, in the wilderness, in the land of the plain, of the Reubenite; and Ramoth, in Gilead, of the Gadite; and Golan, in Bashan, of the Manassahite.

44 В от закон, который предложил Моисей сынам Израилевым;

And this the law which Moses hath set before the sons of Israel;

45 в от повеления, постановления и уставы, которые изрек Моисей сынам Израилевым, по исшествии их из Египта,

these the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses hath spoken unto the sons of Israel, in their coming out of Egypt,

46 з а Иорданом, на долине против Беф-Фегора, в земле Сигона, царя Аморрейского, жившего в Есевоне, которого поразил Моисей с сынами Израилевыми, по исшествии их из Египта.

beyond the Jordan, in the valley over-against Beth-Peor, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorite, who is dwelling in Heshbon, whom Moses and the sons of Israel have smitten, in their coming out of Egypt,

47 И овладели они землею его и землею Ога, царя Васанского, двух царей Аморрейских, которая за Иорданом к востоку солнца,

and they possess his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorite who beyond the Jordan, the sun-rising;

48 о т Ароера, который на берегу потока Арнона, до горы Сиона, она же Ермон,

from Aroer, which by the edge of the brook Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which Hermon --

49 и всею равниною по эту сторону Иордана к востоку, до самого моря равнины при подошве Фасги.

and all the plain beyond the Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
