1 В седьмой месяц, в двадцать первый день месяца, было слово Господне через Аггея пророка:

In the seventh, in the twenty and first of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:

2 с кажи теперь Зоровавелю, сыну Салафиилеву, правителю Иудеи, и Иисусу, сыну Иоседекову, великому иерею, и остатку народа:

`Speak, I pray thee, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and unto Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest, and unto the remnant of the people, saying:

3 к то остался между вами, который видел этот дом в прежней его славе, и каким видите вы его теперь? Не есть ли он в глазах ваших как бы ничто?

Who among you hath been left that saw this house in its former honour? And what are ye seeing it now? Is it not, compared with it, as nothing in your eyes?

4 Н о ободрись ныне, Зоровавель, говорит Господь, ободрись, Иисус, сын Иоседеков, великий иерей! ободрись, весь народ земли, говорит Господь, и производите работы, ибо Я с вами, говорит Господь Саваоф.

And now, be strong, O Zerubbabel, An affirmation of Jehovah, And be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest, And be strong, all ye people of the land, An affirmation of Jehovah, And do ye -- (for I with you, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts) --

5 З авет Мой, который Я заключил с вами при исшествии вашем из Египта, и дух Мой пребывает среди вас: не бойтесь!

The thing that I covenanted with you, In your coming forth from Egypt, And My Spirit is remaining in your midst, fear not.

6 И бо так говорит Господь Саваоф: еще раз, и это будет скоро, Я потрясу небо и землю, море и сушу,

For thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Yet once more -- it a little, And I am shaking the heavens and the earth, And the sea, and the dry land,

7 и потрясу все народы, и придет Желаемый всеми народами, и наполню дом сей славою, говорит Господь Саваоф.

And I have shaken all the nations, And they have come the desire of all the nations, And I have filled this house honour, Said Jehovah of Hosts.

8 М ое серебро и Мое золото, говорит Господь Саваоф.

Mine the silver, and Mine the gold, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

9 С лава сего последнего храма будет больше, нежели прежнего, говорит Господь Саваоф; и на месте сем Я дам мир, говорит Господь Саваоф.

Greater is the honour of this latter house, Than of the former, said Jehovah of Hosts, And in this place do I give peace, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.'

10 В двадцать четвертый день девятого месяца, во второй год Дария, было слово Господне через Аггея пророка:

On the twenty and fourth of the ninth, in the second year of Darius, hath a word of Jehovah been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:

11 т ак говорит Господь Саваоф: спроси священников о законе и скажи:

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: `Ask, I pray thee, the priests the law, saying:

12 е сли бы кто нес освященное мясо в поле одежды своей и полою своею коснулся хлеба, или чего-либо вареного, или вина, или елея, или какой-нибудь пищи: сделается ли это священным? И отвечали священники и сказали: нет.

Lo, one doth carry holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and he hath come with his skirt against the bread, or against the pottage, or against the wine, or against the oil, or against any food -- is it holy?' And the priests answer and say, `No.'

13 П отом сказал Аггей: а если прикоснется ко всему этому кто-- либо, осквернившийся от прикосновения к мертвецу: сделается ли это нечистым? И отвечали священники и сказали: будет нечистым.

And Haggai saith, `If the unclean of body doth come against any of these, is it unclean?' And the priests answer and say, `It is unclean.'

14 Т огда отвечал Аггей и сказал: таков этот народ, таково это племя предо Мною, говорит Господь, и таковы все дела рук их! И что они приносят там, все нечисто.

And Haggai answereth and saith, `So this people, and so this nation before Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- and so every work of their hands, and that which they bring near there -- it is unclean.

15 Т еперь обратите сердце ваше на время от сего дня и назад, когда еще не был положен камень на камень в храме Господнем.

And now, lay, I pray you, to your heart, From this day, and onwards, Before the laying of stone to stone in the temple of Jehovah.

16 П риходили бывало к копне, могущей приносить двадцать мер, и оказывалось только десять; приходили к подточилию, чтобы начерпать пятьдесят мер из подточилия, а оказывалось только двадцать.

From that time hath come to a heap of twenty, And it hath been ten, He hath come unto the wine-fat to draw out fifty purahs, And it hath been twenty.

17 П оражал Я вас ржавчиною и блеклостью хлеба и градом все труды рук ваших; но вы не обращались ко Мне, говорит Господь.

I have smitten you with blasting, And with mildew, and with hail -- All the work of your hands, And there is none of you with Me, An affirmation of Jehovah.

18 О братите же сердце ваше на время от сего дня и назад, от двадцать четвертого дня девятого месяца, от того дня, когда основан был храм Господень; обратите сердце ваше:

Set, I pray you, to your heart, from this day and onwards, from the twenty and fourth day of the ninth, even from the day that the temple of Jehovah hath been founded, set to your heart.

19 е сть ли еще в житницах семена? Доселе ни виноградная лоза, ни смоковница, ни гранатовое дерево, ни маслина не давали плода; а от сего дня Я благословлю их.

Is the seed yet in the barn? And hitherto the vine and the fig, And the pomegranate, and the olive-tree, Have not borne -- from this day I bless.'

20 И было слово Господне к Аггею вторично в двадцать четвертый день месяца, и сказано:

And there is a word of Jehovah a second time unto Haggai, on the twenty and fourth of the month, saying:

21 с кажи Зоровавелю, правителю Иудеи: потрясу Я небо и землю;

`Speak unto Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying: I am shaking the heavens and the earth,

22 и ниспровергну престолы царств, и истреблю силу царств языческих, опрокину колесницы и сидящих на них, и низринуты будут кони и всадники их, один мечом другого.

And have overturned the throne of kingdoms, And I have destroyed the strength of kingdoms of the nations, And overturned chariot and its charioteers, And come down have horses and their riders, Each by the sword of his brother.

23 В тот день, говорит Господь Саваоф, Я возьму тебя, Зоровавель, сын Салафиилев, раб Мой, говорит Господь, и буду держать тебя как печать, ибо Я избрал тебя, говорит Господь Саваоф.

In that day -- an affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, I take thee, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant -- an affirmation of Jehovah, And have set thee as a signet, for on thee I have fixed, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts!
