1 К огда Адониседек, царь Иерусалимский, услышал, что Иисус взял Гай и предал его заклятию, и что так же поступил с Гаем и царем его, как поступил с Иерихоном и царем его, и что жители Гаваона заключили мир с Израилем и остались среди их,

And it cometh to pass, when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heareth that Joshua hath captured Ai, and doth devote it (as he had done to Jericho and to her king so he hath done to Ai and to her king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon have made peace with Israel, and are in their midst, --

2 т огда он весьма испугался, потому что Гаваон город большой, как один из царских городов, и больше Гая, и все жители его люди храбрые.

that they are greatly afraid, because Gibeon a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it greater than Ai, and all its men -- heroes.

3 П осему Адониседек, царь Иерусалимский, послал к Гогаму, царю Хевронскому, и к Фираму, царю Иармуфскому, и к Яфию, царю Лахисскому, и к Девиру, царю Еглонскому, чтобы сказать:

And Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sendeth unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

4 п ридите ко мне и помогите мне поразить Гаваон за то, что он заключил мир с Иисусом и сынами Израилевыми.

`Come up unto me, and help me, and we smite Gibeon, for it hath made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.'

5 О ни собрались, и пошли пять царей Аморрейских: царь Иерусалимский, царь Хевронский, царь Иармуфский, царь Лахисский, царь Еглонский, они и все ополчение их, и расположились станом подле Гаваона, чтобы воевать против него.

And five kings of the Amorite (the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon) are gathered together, and go up, they and all their camps, and encamp against Gibeon, and fight against it.

6 Ж ители Гаваона послали к Иисусу в стан, в Галгал, сказать: не отними руки твоей от рабов твоих; приди к нам скорее, спаси нас и подай нам помощь; ибо собрались против нас все цари Аморрейские, живущие на горах.

And the men of Gibeon send unto Joshua, unto the camp at Gilgal, saying, `Let not thy hand cease from thy servants; come up unto us haste, and give safety to us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorite, dwelling in the hill-country, have been assembled against us.'

7 И исус пошел из Галгала сам, и с ним весь народ, способный к войне, и все мужи храбрые.

And Joshua goeth up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valour.

8 И сказал Господь Иисусу: не бойся их, ибо Я предал их в руки твои: никто из них не устоит пред лицем твоим.

And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `Be not afraid of them, for into thy hand I have given them, there doth not stand a man of them in thy presence.'

9 И пришел на них Иисус внезапно, всю ночь шел он из Галгала.

And Joshua cometh in unto them suddenly (all the night he hath gone up from Gilgal),

10 Г осподь привел их в смятение при виде Израильтян, и они поразили их в Гаваоне сильным поражением, и преследовали их по дороге к возвышенности Вефорона, и поражали их до Азека и до Македа.

and Jehovah doth crush them before Israel, and it smiteth them -- a great smiting -- at Gibeon, and pursueth them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and smiteth them unto Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

11 К огда же они бежали от Израильтян по скату горы Вефоронской, Господь бросал на них с небес большие камни до самого Азека, и они умирали; больше было тех, которые умерли от камней града, нежели тех, которых умертвили сыны Израилевы мечом.

And it cometh to pass, in their fleeing from the face of Israel -- they in the descent of Beth-Horon -- and Jehovah hath cast upon them great stones out of the heavens, unto Azekah, and they die; more are they who have died by the hailstones than they whom the sons of Israel have slain by the sword.

12 И исус воззвал к Господу в тот день, в который предал Господь Аморрея в руки Израилю, когда побил их в Гаваоне, и они побиты были пред лицем сынов Израилевых, и сказал пред Израильтянами: стой, солнце, над Гаваоном, и луна, над долиною Аиалонскою!

Then speaketh Joshua to Jehovah in the day of Jehovah's giving up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he saith, before the eyes of Israel, `Sun -- in Gibeon stand still; and moon -- in the valley of Ajalon;'

13 И остановилось солнце, и луна стояла, доколе народ мстил врагам своим. Не это ли написано в книге Праведного: 'стояло солнце среди неба и не спешило к западу почти целый день'?

and the sun standeth still, and the moon hath stood -- till the nation taketh vengeance its enemies; is it not written on the Book of the Upright, `and the sun standeth in the midst of the heavens, and hath not hasted to go in -- as a perfect day?'

14 И не было такого дня ни прежде ни после того, в который Господь слушал бы гласа человеческого. Ибо Господь сражался за Израиля.

And there hath not been like that day before it or after it, for Jehovah's hearkening to the voice of a man; for Jehovah is fighting for Israel.

15 П отом возвратился Иисус и весь Израиль с ним в стан, в Галгал.

And Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.

16 А те пять царей убежали и скрылись в пещере в Македе.

And these five kings flee, and are hidden in a cave at Makkedah,

17 К огда донесено было Иисусу и сказано: 'нашлись пять царей, они скрываются в пещере в Македе',

and it is declared to Joshua, saying, `The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.'

18 И исус сказал: 'привалите большие камни к отверстию пещеры и приставьте к ней людей стеречь их;

And Joshua saith, `Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and appoint over it men to watch them;

19 а вы не останавливайтесь, но преследуйте врагов ваших и истребляйте заднюю часть войска их и не давайте им уйти в города их, ибо Господь Бог ваш предал их в руки ваши'.

and ye, stand not, pursue after your enemies, and ye have smitten the hindmost of them; suffer them not to go in unto their cities, for Jehovah your God hath given them into your hand.'

20 П осле того, как Иисус и сыны Израилевы совершенно поразили их весьма великим поражением, и оставшиеся из них убежали в города укрепленные,

And it cometh to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel finish to smite them -- a very great smiting, till they are consumed, and the remnant who have remained of them go in unto the fenced cities,

21 в есь народ возвратился в стан к Иисусу в Макед с миром, и никто на сынов Израилевых не пошевелил языком своим.

that all the people turn back to the camp, unto Joshua, Makkedah, in peace; none moved sharply his tongue against the sons of Israel.

22 Т огда Иисус сказал: откройте отверстие пещеры и выведите ко мне из пещеры пятерых царей тех.

And Joshua saith, `Open ye the mouth of the cave, and bring out unto me these five kings from the cave;'

23 Т ак и сделали: вывели к нему из пещеры пятерых царей тех: царя Иерусалимского, царя Хевронского, царя Иармуфского, царя Лахисского и царя Еглонского.

and they do so, and bring out unto him these five kings from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.

24 К огда вывели царей сих к Иисусу, Иисус призвал всех Израильтян и сказал вождям воинов, ходившим с ним: подойдите, наступите ногами вашими на выи царей сих. Они подошли и наступили ногами своими на выи их.

And it cometh to pass, when they bring out these kings unto Joshua, that Joshua calleth unto every man of Israel, and saith unto the captains of the men of war, who have gone with him, `Draw near, set your feet on the necks of these kings;' and they draw near, and set their feet on their necks.

25 И исус сказал им: не бойтесь и не ужасайтесь, будьте тверды и мужественны; ибо так поступит Господь со всеми врагами вашими, с которыми будете воевать.

And Joshua saith unto them, `Fear not, nor be affrighted; be strong and courageous; for thus doth Jehovah do to all your enemies with whom ye are fighting;'

26 П отом поразил их Иисус и убил их и повесил их на пяти деревах; и висели они на деревах до вечера.

and Joshua smiteth them afterwards, and putteth them to death, and hangeth them on five trees; and they are hanging on the trees till the evening.

27 П ри захождении солнца приказал Иисус, и сняли их с дерев, и бросили их в пещеру, в которой они скрывались, и привалили большие камни к отверстию пещеры, даже до сего дня.

And it cometh to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, Joshua hath commanded, and they take them down from off the trees, and cast them unto the cave where they had been hid, and put great stones on the mouth of the cave till this very day.

28 В тот же день взял Иисус Макед, и поразил мечом и царя его, и предал заклятию их и все дышащее, что находилось в нем: никого не оставил, кто бы уцелел; и поступил с царем Македским так же, как поступил с царем Иерихонским.

And Makkedah hath Joshua captured on that day, and he smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and its king he hath devoted, them and every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant; and he doth to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.

29 И пошел Иисус и все Израильтяне с ним из Македа к Ливне и воевал против Ливны;

And Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah Libnah, and fighteth with Libnah;

30 и предал Господь и ее в руки Израиля, и царя ее, и истребил ее Иисус мечом и все дышащее, что в ней: никого не оставил в ней, кто бы уцелел, и поступил с царем ее так же, как поступил с царем Иерихонским.

and Jehovah giveth also it into the hand of Israel, and its king, and it smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it -- it left not in it a remnant; and it doth to its king as it did to the king of Jericho.

31 И з Ливны пошел Иисус и все Израильтяне с ним к Лахису и расположился подле него станом и воевал против него;

And Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encampeth against it, and fighteth against it;

32 и предал Господь Лахис в руки Израиля, и взял он его на другой день, и поразил его мечом и все дышащее, что было в нем, так, как поступил с Ливною.

And Jehovah giveth Lachish into the hand of Israel, and it captureth it on the second day, and smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it, according to all that it did to Libnah.

33 Т огда пришел на помощь Лахису Горам, царь Газерский; но Иисус поразил его и народ его так, что никого у него не оставил, кто бы уцелел.

Than hath Horam king of Gezer come up to help Lachish, and Joshua smiteth him and his people, till he hath not left to him a remnant.

34 И пошел Иисус и все Израильтяне с ним из Лахиса к Еглону и расположились подле него станом и воевали против него;

And Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Lachish to Eglon, and they encamp against it, and fight against it,

35 И взяли его в тот же день и поразили его мечом, и все дышащее, что находилось в нем в тот день, предал он заклятию, как поступил с Лахисом.

and capture it on that day, and smite it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it on that day he hath devoted, according to all that he did to Lachish.

36 И пошел Иисус и все Израильтяне с ним из Еглона к Хеврону и воевали против него;

And Joshua goeth up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron, and they fight against it,

37 и взяли его и поразили его мечом, и царя его, и все города его, и все дышащее, что находилось в нем; никого не оставил, кто уцелел бы, как поступил он и с Еглоном: предал заклятию его и все дышащее, что находилось в нем.

and capture it, and smite it by the mouth of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant -- according to all that he did to Eglon -- and doth devote it, and every person who in it.

38 П отом обратился Иисус и весь Израиль с ним к Давиру и воевал против него;

And Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fighteth against it,

39 и взял его и царя его и все города его, и поразили их мечом, и предали заклятию все дышащее, что находилось в нем: никого не осталось, кто уцелел бы; как поступил с Хевроном и царем его, так поступил с Давиром и царем его, и как поступил с Ливною и царем ее.

and captureth it, and its king, and all its cities, and they smite them by the mouth of the sword, and devote every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant; as he did to Hebron so he did to Debir, and to its king, and as he did to Libnah, and to its king.

40 И поразил Иисус всю землю нагорную и полуденную, и низменные места и землю, лежащую у гор, и всех царей их: никого не оставил, кто уцелел бы, и все дышащее предал заклятию, как повелел Господь Бог Израилев;

And Joshua smiteth all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings -- he hath not left a remnant, and all that doth breathe he hath devoted, as Jehovah, God of Israel, commanded.

41 п оразил их Иисус от Кадес-Варни до Газы, и всю землю Гошен даже до Гаваона;

And Joshua smiteth them from Kadesh-Barnea, even unto Gaza, and all the land of Goshen, even unto Gibeon;

42 и всех царей сих и земли их Иисус взял одним разом, ибо Господь Бог Израилев сражался за Израиля.

and all these kings and their land hath Joshua captured one time, for Jehovah, God of Israel, is fighting for Israel.

43 П отом Иисус и все Израильтяне с ним возвратились в стан, в Галгал.

and Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.
