1 И потому, не терпя более, мы восхотели остаться в Афинах одни,

Wherefore no longer forbearing, we thought good to be left in Athens alone,

2 и послали Тимофея, брата нашего и служителя Божия и сотрудника нашего в благовествовании Христовом, чтобы утвердить вас и утешить в вере вашей,

and did send Timotheus -- our brother, and a ministrant of God, and our fellow-workman in the good news of the Christ -- to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith,

3 ч тобы никто не поколебался в скорбях сих: ибо вы сами знаете, что так нам суждено.

that no one be moved in these tribulations, for yourselves have known that for this we are set,

4 И бо мы и тогда, как были у вас, предсказывали вам, что будем страдать, как и случилось, и вы знаете.

for even when we were with you, we said to you beforehand, that we are about to suffer tribulation, as also it did come to pass, and ye have known;

5 П осему и я, не терпя более, послал узнать о вере вашей, чтобы как не искусил вас искуситель и не сделался тщетным труд наш.

because of this also, I, no longer forbearing, did send to know your faith, lest he who is tempting did tempt you, and in vain might be our labour.

6 Т еперь же, когда пришел к нам от вас Тимофей и принес нам добрую весть о вере и любви вашей, и что вы всегда имеете добрую память о нас, желая нас видеть, как и мы вас,

And now Timotheus having come unto us from you, and having declared good news to us of your faith and love, and that ye have a good remembrance of us always, desiring much to see us, as we also you,

7 т о мы, при всей скорби и нужде нашей, утешились вами, братия, ради вашей веры;

because of this we were comforted, brethren, over you, in all our tribulation and necessity, through your faith,

8 и бо теперь мы живы, когда вы стоите в Господе.

because now we live, if ye may stand fast in the Lord;

9 К акую благодарность можем мы воздать Богу за вас, за всю радость, которою радуемся о вас пред Богом нашим,

for what thanks are we able to recompense to God for you, for all the joy with which we do joy because of you in the presence of our God?

10 н очь и день всеусердно молясь о том, чтобы видеть лице ваше и дополнить, чего недоставало вере вашей?

night and day exceedingly beseeching, that we might see your face, and perfect the things lacking in your faith.

11 С ам же Бог и Отец наш и Господь наш Иисус Христос да управит путь наш к вам.

And our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you,

12 А вас Господь да исполнит и преисполнит любовью друг к другу и ко всем, какою мы исполнены к вам,

and you the Lord cause to increase and to abound in the love to one another, and to all, even as we also to you,

13 ч тобы утвердить сердца ваши непорочными во святыне пред Богом и Отцем нашим в пришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа со всеми святыми Его. Аминь.

to the establishing your hearts blameless in sanctification before our God and Father, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
