1 К огда Исаак состарился и глаза его так ослабли, что он ничего больше не видел, он позвал Исава, своего старшего сына, и сказал ему: – Сын мой! – Я здесь, – ответил Исав.

And it cometh to pass that Isaac aged, and his eyes are too dim for seeing, and he calleth Esau his elder son, and saith unto him, `My son;' and he saith unto him, `Here I.'

2 И саак сказал: – Я уже стар, и не знаю дня смерти.

And he saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have become aged, I have not known the day of my death;

3 В озьми же свое оружие – колчан и лук – и выйди в поле добыть мне дичи.

and now, take up, I pray thee, thy instruments, thy quiver, and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt for me provision,

4 П риготовь мою любимую еду и принеси мне поесть, чтобы я благословил тебя перед смертью.

and make for me tasteful things, as I have loved, and bring in to me, and I do eat, so that my soul doth bless thee before I die.'

5 Р евекка слышала, как Исаак говорил со своим сыном Исавом, и когда Исав ушел в поле, чтобы настрелять и принести дичи,

And Rebekah is hearkening while Isaac is speaking unto Esau his son; and Esau goeth to the field to hunt provision -- to bring in;

6 Р евекка сказала своему сыну Иакову: – Я слышала, как твой отец сказал твоему брату Исаву:

and Rebekah hath spoken unto Jacob her son, saying, `Lo, I have heard thy father speaking unto Esau thy brother, saying,

7 « Принеси дичи и приготовь мне вкусной еды, чтобы я благословил тебя перед Господом, прежде чем умру».

Bring for me provision, and make for me tasteful things, and I do eat, and bless thee before Jehovah before my death.

8 С лушай же меня внимательно, сын мой, и делай, как я тебе скажу.

`And now, my son, hearken to my voice, to that which I am commanding thee:

9 П ойди к стаду и принеси мне двух лучших козлят, чтобы мне приготовить вкусную еду для твоего отца, такую, как он любит.

Go, I pray thee, unto the flock, and take for me from thence two good kids of the goats, and I make them tasteful things for thy father, as he hath loved;

10 П отом отнеси ее отцу, он поест и благословит тебя перед смертью.

and thou hast taken in to thy father, and he hath eaten, so that his soul doth bless thee before his death.

11 И аков сказал Ревекке, своей матери: – Но мой брат Исав весь волосат, а у меня кожа гладкая.

And Jacob saith unto Rebekah his mother, `Lo, Esau my brother a hairy man, and I a smooth man,

12 Ч то, если отец ощупает меня? Я окажусь перед ним обманщиком и скорее навлеку на себя проклятие, а не благословение.

it may be my father doth feel me, and I have been in his eyes as a deceiver, and have brought upon me disesteem, and not a blessing;'

13 М ать сказала ему: – Проклятие пусть будет на мне, сын мой, а ты делай, как я говорю: пойди и принеси козлят.

and his mother saith to him, `On me thy disesteem, my son; only hearken to my voice, and go, take for me.'

14 О н пошел, взял козлят и принес их матери, и она приготовила вкусную еду, такую, как любил его отец.

And he goeth, and taketh, and bringeth to his mother, and his mother maketh tasteful things, as his father hath loved;

15 П отом Ревекка взяла лучшую одежду своего старшего сына Исава, какая была у нее в доме, и надела на младшего, Иакова,

and Rebekah taketh the desirable garments of Esau her elder son, which with her in the house, and doth put on Jacob her younger son;

16 а его руки и гладкую часть шеи покрыла шкурами козлят.

and the skins of the kids of the goats she hath put on his hands, and on the smooth of his neck,

17 З атем она дала своему сыну Иакову вкусную еду и хлеб, которые приготовила.

and she giveth the tasteful things, and the bread which she hath made, into the hand of Jacob her son.

18 О н пришел к отцу и сказал: – Отец мой. – Вот я, – ответил тот. – Ты который из моих сыновей?

And he cometh in unto his father, and saith, `My father;' and he saith, `Here I; who thou, my son?'

19 И аков сказал отцу: – Я – Исав, твой первенец. Я сделал, как ты сказал. Прошу, приподнимись, сядь и поешь моей дичи, чтобы ты мог благословить меня.

And Jacob saith unto his father, `I Esau thy first-born; I have done as thou hast spoken unto me; rise, I pray thee, sit, and eat of my provision, so that thy soul doth bless me.'

20 И саак спросил сына: – Как же ты нашел ее так быстро, сын мой? – Господь, твой Бог, даровал мне успех, – ответил он.

And Isaac saith unto his son, `What this thou hast hasted to find, my son?' and he saith, `That which Jehovah thy God hath caused to come before me.'

21 И саак сказал Иакову: – Подойди ближе, чтобы мне ощупать тебя, сын мой, действительно ли ты мой сын Исав или нет.

And Isaac saith unto Jacob, `Come nigh, I pray thee, and I feel thee, my son, whether thou he, my son Esau, or not.'

22 И аков подошел ближе к своему отцу Исааку, который ощупал его и сказал: – Голос – как голос Иакова, но руки – как руки Исава.

And Jacob cometh nigh unto Isaac his father, and he feeleth him, and saith, `The voice the voice of Jacob, and the hands hands of Esau.'

23 О н не узнал его, потому что руки у него были волосатые, как у Исава, и он благословил его.

And he hath not discerned him, for his hands have been hairy, as the hands of Esau his brother, and he blesseth him,

24 – Действительно ли ты сын мой Исав? – спросил Исаак, и он ответил: – Да, это я.

and saith, `Thou art he -- my son Esau?' and he saith, `I.'

25 И саак сказал: – Сын мой, поднеси мне твою дичь поближе, и я поем, а потом благословлю тебя. Иаков дал ему еду, и он поел, принес вина, и он выпил.

And he saith, `Bring nigh to me, and I do eat of my son's provision, so that my soul doth bless thee;' and he bringeth nigh to him, and he eateth; and he bringeth to him wine, and he drinketh.

26 П отом его отец Исаак сказал ему: – Подойди, сын мой, и поцелуй меня.

And Isaac his father saith to him, `Come nigh, I pray thee, and kiss me, my son;'

27 О н подошел и поцеловал его. Исаак почувствовал запах его одежды и благословил его, сказав: – Ах, запах моего сына – как запах поля, которое благословил Господь.

and he cometh nigh, and kisseth him, and he smelleth the fragrance of his garments, and blesseth him, and saith, `See, the fragrance of my son as the fragrance of a field which Jehovah hath blessed;

28 П усть даст тебе Бог от небесной росы и от плодородия земли в изобилии зерна и молодого вина.

and God doth give to thee of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and abundance of corn and wine;

29 Д а служат тебе племена, и да поклонятся тебе народы. Будь господином над твоими братьями, и да склонятся перед тобой сыновья твоей матери. Да будет проклят проклинающий тебя, а благословляющий да будет благословен.

peoples serve thee, and nations bow themselves to thee, be thou mighty over thy brethren, and the sons of thy mother bow themselves to thee; those who curse thee cursed, and those who bless thee blessed.'

30 К ак только Исаак закончил благословение и едва лишь Иаков вышел от отца, как пришел с охоты его брат Исав.

And it cometh to pass, as Isaac hath finished blessing Jacob, and Jacob is only just going out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother hath come in from his hunting;

31 О н тоже приготовил вкусной еды и принес отцу. Он сказал ему: – Отец, приподнимись, сядь и поешь моей дичи, а потом благослови меня.

and he also maketh tasteful things, and bringeth to his father, and saith to his father, `Let my father arise, and eat of his son's provision, so that thy soul doth bless me.'

32 Е го отец Исаак спросил: – Кто ты? – Я твой сын, – ответил он, – твой первенец, Исав.

And Isaac his father saith to him, `Who thou?' and he saith, `I thy son, thy first-born, Esau;'

33 И саак весь задрожал и сказал: – Кто же был тот другой, который добыл дичи и принес мне? Я ел ее как раз перед твоим приходом и благословил его. Он теперь и будет благословен!

and Isaac trembleth a very great trembling, and saith, `Who, now, he who hath provided provision, and bringeth in to me, and I eat of all before thou comest in, and I bless him? -- yea, blessed is he.'

34 У слышав слова отца, Исав громко и горько закричал, и сказал отцу: – Благослови и меня, и меня тоже, отец!

When Esau heareth the words of his father, then he crieth a very great and bitter cry, and saith to his father, `Bless me, me also, O my father;'

35 Н о тот ответил: – Твой брат пришел с хитростью и отнял у тебя благословение.

and he saith, `Thy brother hath come with subtilty, and taketh thy blessing.'

36 И сав сказал: – Не по праву ли он назван Иаковом? Дважды он обошел меня: взял мое первородство, а теперь и мое благословение! И спросил: – Не осталось ли у тебя благословения и для меня?

And he saith, `Is it because called his name Jacob that he doth take me by the heel these two times? my birthright he hath taken; and lo, now, he hath taken my blessing;' he saith also, `Hast thou not kept back a blessing for me?'

37 И саак ответил Исаву: – Я сделал его господином над тобой, и всю его родню отдал ему в слуги, и одарил его хлебом и молодым вином. Что же я могу теперь сделать для тебя, мой сын?

And Isaac answereth and saith to Esau, `Lo, a mighty one have I set him over thee, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants, and corn and wine have I sustained him; and for thee now, what shall I do, my son?'

38 И сав сказал отцу: – У тебя что же, только одно благословение, отец? Благослови и меня, отец! И громко заплакал.

And Esau saith unto his father, `One blessing hast thou my father? bless me, me also, O my father;' and Esau lifteth up his voice, and weepeth.

39 Е го отец Исаак ответил ему: – Будет обитание твое вдали от плодородия земли, вдали от росы небесной свыше.

And Isaac his father answereth and saith unto him, `Lo, of the fatness of the earth is thy dwelling, and of the dew of the heavens from above;

40 Т ы будешь жить мечом и будешь служить своему брату. Но когда ты восстанешь, ты сбросишь его ярмо со своей шеи. Побег Иакова в Харран к Лавану

and by thy sword dost thou live, and thy brother dost thou serve; and it hath come to pass when thou rulest, that thou hast broken his yoke from off thy neck.'

41 И сав затаил злобу на Иакова из-за благословения, которое дал ему отец, и сказал себе: «Дни плача по отцу близки – тогда я убью моего брата Иакова».

And Esau hateth Jacob, because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau saith in his heart, `The days of mourning my father draw near, and I slay Jacob my brother.'

42 Р евекке передали, что сказал ее старший сын Исав, и она послала за младшим сыном, Иаковом, и сказала ему: – Твой брат Исав утешает себя мыслью убить тебя.

And the words of Esau her elder son are declared to Rebekah, and she sendeth and calleth for Jacob her younger son, and saith unto him, `Lo, Esau thy brother is comforting himself in regard to thee -- to slay thee;

43 М ой сын, сделай, как я скажу: немедленно беги в Харран к моему брату Лавану.

and now, my son, hearken to my voice, and rise, flee for thyself unto Laban my brother, to Haran,

44 П оживи у него какое-то время, пока не утихнет ярость твоего брата;

and thou hast dwelt with him some days, till thy brother's fury turn back,

45 к огда же гнев твоего брата утихнет, и он забудет то, что ты ему сделал, тогда я пошлю сказать тебе, что пора возвращаться. Зачем мне терять вас обоих в один день?

till thy brother's anger turn back from thee, and he hath forgotten that which thou hast done to him, and I have sent and taken thee from thence; why am I bereaved even of you both the same day?'

46 П отом Ревекка сказала Исааку: – Я жизни не рада из-за этих дочерей хеттейских. Если и Иаков возьмет себе в жены местную женщину, такую вот хеттеянку, как эти, то зачем мне и жить?

And Rebekah saith unto Isaac, `I have been disgusted with my life because of the presence of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, like these -- from the daughters of the land -- why do I live?'
