1 Г осподь, как Он и сказал, был милостив к Сарре и выполнил Свое обещание:

And Jehovah hath looked after Sarah as He hath said, and Jehovah doth to Sarah as He hath spoken;

2 С арра забеременела и родила Аврааму сына, когда тот уже состарился, в то самое время, как обещал ему Бог.

and Sarah conceiveth, and beareth a son to Abraham, to his old age, at the appointed time that God hath spoken of with him;

3 А враам дал новорожденному сыну, которого родила ему Сарра, имя Исаак.

and Abraham calleth the name of his son who is born to him, whom Sarah hath born to him -- Isaac;

4 К огда его сыну Исааку исполнилось восемь дней, Авраам обрезал его, как велел ему Бог.

and Abraham circumciseth Isaac his son, a son of eight days, as God hath commanded him.

5 А врааму было сто лет, когда у него родился сын Исаак.

And Abraham a son of a hundred years in Isaac his son being born to him,

6 С арра сказала: – Бог заставил меня смеяться; каждый, кто услышит об этом, рассмеется вместе со мной.

and Sarah saith, `God hath made laughter for me; every one who is hearing laugheth for me.'

7 И добавила: – Кто бы сказал Аврааму, что Сарра будет кормить грудью? Но я родила ему сына в его старости.

She saith also, `Who hath said to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled sons, that I have born a son for his old age?'

8 Р ебенок вырос и был отнят от груди. В тот день, когда Исаак был отнят от груди, Авраам устроил большой пир. Изгнание Агари и Измаила

And the lad groweth, and is weaned, and Abraham maketh a great banquet in the day of Isaac's being weaned;

9 С арра увидела, что сын, которого египтянка Агарь родила Аврааму, насмехается над Исааком,

and Sarah seeth the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she hath borne to Abraham, mocking,

10 и сказала Аврааму: – Прогони эту рабыню и ее сына, потому что сын этой рабыни не разделит наследства с моим сыном Исааком.

and she saith to Abraham, `Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid hath no possession with my son -- with Isaac.'

11 А враам был сильно огорчен, потому что это был его сын.

And the thing is very wrong in the eyes of Abraham, for his son's sake;

12 Н о Бог сказал ему: – Не огорчайся из-за мальчика и рабыни. Послушайся Сарры и сделай все, как она говорит, потому что через Исаака ты будешь иметь потомство, которое Я тебе обещал.

and God saith unto Abraham, `Let it not be wrong in thine eyes because of the youth, and because of thy handmaid: all that Sarah saith unto thee -- hearken to her voice, for in Isaac is a seed called to thee.

13 Н о Я произведу народ и от сына рабыни, потому что и он – твой потомок.

As to the son of the handmaid also, for a nation I set him, because he thy seed.'

14 Н а другой день рано утром Авраам взял еды и бурдюк с водой и дал Агари: положил их ей на плечи и отослал ее прочь вместе с ребенком. Она отправилась в путь и блуждала в пустыне Вирсавии.

And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and taketh bread, and a bottle of water, and giveth unto Hagar (placing on her shoulder), also the lad, and sendeth her out; and she goeth on, and goeth astray in the wilderness of Beer-Sheba;

15 К огда вода в бурдюке кончилась, она оставила мальчика под кустом,

and the water is consumed from the bottle, and she placeth the lad under one of the shrubs.

16 и отойдя, села неподалеку, на расстоянии выстрела из лука, потому что думала: «Не стану смотреть, как мальчик умирает». И сидя там неподалеку, она разрыдалась.

And she goeth and sitteth by herself over-against, afar off, about a bow-shot, for she said, `Let me not look on the death of the lad;' and she sitteth over-against, and lifteth up her voice, and weepeth.

17 Б ог услышал плач мальчика и Ангел Бога обратился к Агари с небес и сказал ей: – Что с тобой, Агарь? Не бойся, Бог услышал, как плачет мальчик там, где он лежит.

And God heareth the voice of the youth; and the messenger of God calleth unto Hagar from the heavens, and saith to her, `What to thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the youth where he;

18 В ставай, подними мальчика, и возьми его за руку, потому что Я произведу от него великий народ.

rise, lift up the youth, and lay hold on him with thy hand, for for a great nation I set him.'

19 Т ут Бог открыл ей глаза, и она увидела колодец с водой. Она пошла, наполнила бурдюк водой и напоила мальчика.

And God openeth her eyes, and she seeth a well of water, and she goeth and filleth the bottle water, and causeth the youth to drink;

20 Б ог был с мальчиком. Измаил вырос, поселился в пустыне и стал стрелком из лука.

and God is with the youth, and he groweth, and dwelleth in the wilderness, and is an archer;

21 О н жил в пустыне Паран, и мать взяла для него жену из Египта. Договор между Авраамом и Авимелехом в Вирсавии

and he dwelleth in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother taketh for him a wife from the land of Egypt.

22 В то время Авимелех и Фихол, начальник его войска, сказали Аврааму: – Бог с тобой во всем, что ты делаешь.

And it cometh to pass at that time that Abimelech speaketh -- Phichol also, head of his host -- unto Abraham, saying, `God with thee in all that thou art doing;

23 П оклянись же мне здесь перед Богом, что ты не поступишь вероломно ни со мной, ни с моими детьми, ни с моим потомством. Окажи мне и стране, в которой ты живешь как пришелец, ту же милость, какую я оказал тебе.

and now, swear to me by God here: thou dost not lie to me, or to my continuator, or to my successor; according to the kindness which I have done with thee thou dost with me, and with the land in which thou hast sojourned.'

24 А враам сказал: – Клянусь.

And Abraham saith, `I -- I do swear.'

25 П отом Авраам упрекнул Авимелеха за колодец с водой, который захватили слуги Авимелеха.

And Abraham reasoned with Abimelech concerning the matter of a well of water which Abimelech's servants have taken violently away,

26 Н о Авимелех сказал: – Я не знаю, кто это сделал. Ты не говорил мне, и до сего дня я не слышал об этом.

and Abimelech saith, `I have not known who hath done this thing, and even thou didst not declare to me, and I also, I have not heard save to-day.'

27 А враам привел мелкий и крупный скот и дал Авимелеху, и они заключили союз.

And Abraham taketh sheep and oxen, and giveth to Abimelech, and they make, both of them, a covenant;

28 А враам отделил из стада семь молодых овец,

and Abraham setteth seven Lambs of the flock by themselves.

29 и Авимелех спросил Авраама: – Что означают эти семь молодых овец, которых ты отделил особо?

And Abimelech saith unto Abraham, `What they -- these seven lambs which thou hast set by themselves?'

30 О н ответил: – Прими от меня семь этих молодых овец как свидетельство того, что я выкопал этот колодец, и он мой.

And he saith, `For -- the seven lambs thou dost accept from my hand, so that it becometh a witness for me that I have digged this well;'

31 В от почему то место было названо Вирсавия: ведь они оба дали там клятву.

therefore hath he called that place `Beer-Sheba,' for there have both of them sworn.

32 З аключив союз в Вирсавии, Авимелех и Фихол, начальник его войска, вернулись в землю филистимлян.

And they make a covenant in Beer-Sheba, and Abimelech riseth -- Phichol also, head of his host -- and they turn back unto the land of the Philistines;

33 А враам посадил в Вирсавии тамариск и призвал там Имя Господа, Бога Вечного.

and planteth a tamarask in Beer-Sheba, and preacheth there in the name of Jehovah, God age-during;

34 А враам жил на земле филистимлян долгое время.

and Abraham sojourneth in the land of the Philistines many days.
