1 Ж ители Иерусалима сделали Охозию, младшего сына Иорама, царем вместо него, потому что люди, которые ворвались вместе с арабами в лагерь, перебили всех его старших сыновей. Так над Иудеей начал царствовать Охозия, сын Иорама.

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem cause Ahaziah his youngest son to reign in his stead, (for all the elder had the troop slain that came in with the Arabians to the camp,) and Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah reigneth.

2 О хозии было двадцать два года, когда он стал царем, и правил он в Иерусалиме один год. Его мать звали Аталия; она была внучкой Омри.

A son of twenty and two years Ahaziah in his reigning, and one year he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Athaliah daughter of Omri;

3 О н тоже ходил путями дома Ахава, потому что мать была ему советницей на злые дела.

he also hath walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother hath been his counsellor to do wickedly.

4 О н делал зло в глазах Господа по примеру дома Ахава, потому что после смерти его отца, они стали его советниками ему на погибель.

And he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab, for they have been his counsellors, after the death of his father, for destruction to him.

5 Э то их совету он следовал, отправляясь с царем Израиля Иорамом, сыном Ахава, под Рамот Галаадский воевать против Хазаила, царя Арама. Арамеи ранили Иорама,

Also, in their counsel he hath walked, and goeth with Jehoram son of Ahab king of Israel to battle against Hazael king of Aram, in Ramoth-Gilead, and they of Ramah smite Joram;

6 и он вернулся в Изреель, чтобы оправиться от ран, нанесенных ему при Рамоте, в битве с Хазаилом, царем Арама. Тогда иудейский царь Охозия, сын Иорама, отправился в Изреель навестить Иорама, сына Ахава, потому что тот был ранен.

and he turneth back to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds with which they had smitten him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram. And Azariah son of Jehoram king of Judah hath gone down to see Jehoram son of Ahab, in Jezreel, for he sick;

7 Н о в воле Бога было то, чтобы гибель Охозии произошла во время его прихода к Иораму. Когда Охозия пришел, он вышел с Иорамом навстречу Ииую, сыну Нимши, которого Господь помазал, чтобы истребить дом Ахава.

and from God hath been the destruction of Ahaziah, to come unto Joram: and in his coming he hath gone out with Jehoram unto Jehu son of Nimshi, whom Jehovah anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

8 И сполняя приговор дому Ахава, Ииуй нашел приближенных Иудеи и племянников Охозии, которые сопровождали Охозию, и перебил их.

And it cometh to pass, in Jehu's executing judgment with the house of Ahab, that he findeth the heads of Judah and sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, ministers of Ahaziah, and slayeth them.

9 З атем он отправился на поиски Охозии, и его люди схватили Охозию, когда тот прятался в Самарии. Он был приведен к Ииую и казнен. Его удостоили похорон, потому что говорили: «Он был сыном Иосафата, который всем сердцем искал Господа». Так из дома Охозии не осталось никого, кто был бы в силах удержать царскую власть. Попытка Аталии истребить дом Давида (4 Цар. 11: 1-3)

And he seeketh Ahaziah, and they capture him, (and he is hiding himself in Samaria), and bring him in unto Jehu, and put him to death, and bury him, for they said, `He son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Jehovah with all his heart;' and there is none to the house of Ahaziah to retain power for the kingdom.

10 К огда Аталия, мать Охозии, увидела, что ее сын мертв, она встала и убила всю царскую семью дома Иуды.

And Athaliah mother of Ahaziah hath seen that her son is dead, and she riseth and destroyeth the whole seed of the kingdom of the house of Judah.

11 Н о Иосавеф, дочь царя Иорама, взяла Иоаша, сына Охозии, выкрала его из среды царских сыновей, которых должны были убить, и спрятала его вместе с кормилицей в спальне. Так Иосавеф, дочь царя Иорама и жена священника Иодая, сестра Охозии, укрыла ребенка от Аталии, и та не смогла его убить.

And Jehoshabeath daughter of the king taketh Joash son of Ahaziah, and stealeth him from the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, and putteth him and his nurse into the inner part of the bed-chambers, and Jehoshabeath daughter of king Jehoram, wife of Jehoiada the priest, because she hath been sister of Ahaziah, hideth him from the face of Athaliah, and she hath not put him to death.

12 О н прятался у них в Божьем храме шесть лет, пока Аталия правила страной.

And he is with them in the house of God hiding himself six years, and Athaliah is reigning over the land.
