1 М ежду домом Саула и домом Давида шла продолжительная война. Давид становился все сильнее и сильнее, а дом Саула все слабее и слабее. Сыновья Давида

And the war is long between the house of Saul and the house of David, and David is going on and strong, and the house of Saul are going on and weak.

2 В Хевроне у Давида родились сыновья. Его первенцем был Амнон, сын изреельтянки Ахиноамь;

And there are born to David sons in Hebron, and his first-born is Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess,

3 в торым был Килеаб, сын Авигайль, вдовы Навала из Кармила; третьим – Авессалом, сын Маахи, дочери гешурского царя Талмая;

and his second Chileab, of Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelite, and the third Absalom son of Maacah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur,

4 ч етвертым – Адония, сын Аггифы; пятым – Шефатия, сын Авиталы;

and the fourth Adonijah son of Haggith, and the fifth Shephatiah son of Abital,

5 ш естым – Итреам, сын жены Давида Эглы. Они родились у Давида в Хевроне. Авнер переходит на сторону Давида

and the sixth Ithream, of Eglah wife of David; these have been born to David in Hebron.

6 В о время войны между домом Саула и домом Давида Авнер укреплял свое собственное положение в доме Саула.

And it cometh to pass, in the war being between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner hath been strengthening himself in the house of Saul,

7 У Саула была наложница по имени Рицпа, дочь Айя. Иш-Бошет сказал Авнеру: – Почему ты спишь с наложницей моего отца?

and Saul hath a concubine, and her name Rizpah daughter of Aiah, and saith unto Abner, `Wherefore hast thou gone in unto the concubine of my father?'

8 А внер очень разгневался на слова Иш-Бошета и ответил: – Разве я – собачья голова, служащая на стороне Иудеи? Сегодня я верен дому твоего отца Саула и его семье и друзьям. Я не предал тебя Давиду. А ты сейчас обвиняешь меня в преступлении из-за этой женщины!

And it is displeasing to Abner exceedingly, because of the words of Ish-Bosheth, and he saith, `The head of a dog I -- that in reference to Judah to-day I do kindness with the house of Saul thy father, unto his brethren, and unto his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David -- that thou chargest against me iniquity concerning the woman to-day?

9 Т ак пусть же Бог сурово накажет Авнера, если я не сделаю для Давида того, о чем клялся ему Господь,

thus doth God to Abner, and thus He doth add to him, surely as Jehovah hath sworn to David -- surely so I do to him:

10 – не заберу царство у дома Саула и не поставлю престол Давида над Израилем и Иудеей от Дана до Вирсавии.

to cause the kingdom to pass over from the house of Saul, and to raise up the throne of David over Israel, and over Judah, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba.'

11 И ш-Бошет не осмеливался далее говорить с Авнером, потому что испугался его.

And he is not able any more to turn back Abner a word, because of his fearing him.

12 А внер отправил послов от своего лица сказать Давиду: «Чья эта земля? Заключи со мной союз, и я помогу тебе перетянуть на свою сторону весь Израиль».

And Abner sendeth messengers unto David for himself, saying, `Whose the land?' saying, `Make thy covenant with me, and lo, my hand with thee, to bring round unto thee all Israel.'

13 Д авид ответил: – Хорошо, я заключу с тобой союз. Но я требую от тебя одного: не приходи ко мне, если не приведешь с собой Михаль, дочь Саула, когда придешь увидеться со мной.

And he saith, `Good -- I make with thee a covenant; only, one thing I am asking of thee, that is, Thou dost not see my face, except thou dost first bring in Michal, daughter of Saul in thy coming into see my face.'

14 З атем Давид послал вестников к сыну Саула Иш-Бошету с требованием: «Дай мне мою жену Михаль, которую я взял себе за сто филистимских краеобрезаний».

And David sendeth messengers unto Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, saying, `Give up my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself with a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.'

15 И ш-Бошет отдал приказ, и ее забрали от ее мужа Фалтиила, сына Лаиша.

And Ish-Bosheth sendeth, and taketh her from a man, from Phaltiel son of Laish,

16 Н о ее муж пошел вслед и плакал, идя за ней, всю дорогу до Бахурима. Авнер сказал ему: – Ступай домой! И тот возвратился.

and her husband goeth with her, going on and weeping behind her, unto Bahurim, and Abner saith unto him, `Go, turn back;' and he turneth back.

17 А внер совещался со старейшинами Израиля и сказал: – Некогда вы хотели поставить Давида своим царем.

And the word of Abner was with the elders of Israel, saying, `Heretofore ye have been seeking David for king over you,

18 Т еперь сделайте это! Ведь Господь обещал Давиду: «Через Моего слугу Давида Я избавлю Мой народ Израиль от руки филистимлян и от руки всех его врагов».

and now, do, for Jehovah hath spoken of David saying, By the hand of David my servant -- to save My people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.'

19 Е ще Авнер говорил лично с вениамитянами. После этого он пошел в Хеврон рассказать Давиду все, что готовы были сделать Израиль и весь дом Вениамина.

And Abner speaketh also in the ears of Benjamin, and Abner goeth also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that good in the eyes of Israel, and in the eyes of all the house of Benjamin,

20 К огда Авнер, с которым было двадцать человек, пришел к Давиду в Хеврон, Давид устроил пир для него и для его людей.

and Abner cometh in unto David, to Hebron, and with him twenty men, and David maketh for Abner, and for the men who with him, a banquet.

21 А внер сказал Давиду: – Позволь мне немедленно отправиться и собрать весь Израиль к господину моему царю, чтобы они заключили с тобой союз, а ты стал править надо всем, чего желает твое сердце. Давид отпустил Авнера, и он ушел с миром. Убийство Авнера

And Abner saith unto David, `I arise, and go, and gather unto my lord the king the whole of Israel, and they make with thee a covenant, and thou hast reigned over all that thy soul desireth;' and David sendeth away Abner, and he goeth in peace.

22 В это время люди Давида и Иоав вернулись из набега и принесли с собой богатую добычу. Но Авнера у Давида в Хевроне уже не было, потому что Давид отпустил его, и он ушел с миром.

And lo, the servants of David, and Joab, have come from the troop, and much spoil have brought with them, and Abner is not with David in Hebron, for he hath sent him away, and he goeth in peace;

23 К огда пришли Иоав и с ним все воины, ему сказали, что Авнер, сын Нира, приходил к царю, царь отпустил его, и он ушел с миром.

and Joab and all the host that with him have come, and they declare to Joab, saying, `Abner son of Ner hath come unto the king, and he sendeth him away, and he goeth in peace.'

24 И оав пришел к царю и сказал: – Что ты сделал? Ведь к тебе приходил Авнер! Почему ты отпустил его? Теперь он ушел!

And Joab cometh unto the king, and saith, `What hast thou done? lo, Abner hath come unto thee! why this -- thou hast sent him away, and he is really gone?

25 Т ы же знаешь Авнера, сына Нира – он приходил, чтобы обмануть тебя и выведать все, что ты делаешь и куда ты ходишь.

Thou hast known Abner son of Ner, that to deceive thee he came, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou art doing.'

26 И оав вышел от Давида, послал за Авнером вестников, и они вернули его от колодца Сира. Давид об этом не знал.

And Joab goeth out from David, and sendeth messengers after Abner, and they bring him back from the well of Sirah, and David knew not.

27 К огда Авнер вернулся в Хеврон, Иоав отвел его в сторону, в глубь ворот, словно для того, чтобы поговорить с ним наедине. И там, желая отомстить за кровь своего брата Асаила, Иоав поразил его в живот, и он умер. Давид осуждает убийство и оплакивает Авнера

And Abner turneth back to Hebron, and Joab turneth him aside unto the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly, and smiteth him there in the fifth -- and he dieth -- for the blood of Asahel his brother.

28 П осле этого Давид, услышав о случившемся, сказал: – Я и мое царство навеки неповинны перед Господом в крови Авнера, сына Нира.

And David heareth afterwards and saith, `Acquitted I, and my kingdom, by Jehovah, unto the age, from the blood of Abner son of Ner;

29 П усть его кровь падет на голову Иоава и на весь дом его отца! Пусть дом Иоава никогда не остается без больного с гноящейся язвой или прокаженного, или опирающегося на костыль, или падающего от меча, или нуждающегося в пище.

it doth stay on the head of Joab, and on all the house of his father, and there is not cut off from the house of Joab one having an issue, and leprous, and laying hold on a staff, and falling by a sword, and lacking bread.'

30 ( Иоав и его брат Авишай убили Авнера потому, что он убил их брата Асаила в битве при Гаваоне.)

And Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner because that he put to death Asahel their brother, in Gibeon, in battle.

31 З атем Давид сказал Иоаву и всем людям, которые были с ним: – Разорвите свои одежды, оденьтесь в рубище и плачьте над Авнером. Царь Давид сам пошел за похоронными дрогами.

And David saith unto Joab, and unto all the people who with him, `Rend your garments, and gird on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner;' and king David is going after the bier.

32 О ни похоронили Авнера в Хевроне, и царь громко плакал у могилы Авнера. Весь народ тоже плакал.

And they bury Abner in Hebron, and the king lifteth up his voice, and weepeth at the grave of Abner, and all the people weep;

33 Ц арь оплакивал Авнера этой песней: «Разве должен был Авнер умереть подлой смертью?

and the king lamenteth for Abner, and saith: -- `As the death of a fool doth Abner die?

34 Р уки твои не были связаны, ноги твои не были скованы. Ты пал, как падают перед разбойниками». И весь народ заплакал над ним снова.

Thy hands not bound, And thy feet to fetters not brought nigh! As one falling before sons of evil -- Thou hast fallen!' and all the people add to weep over him.

35 З атем все они пришли и убеждали Давида поесть, пока еще продолжался день, но Давид дал клятву, говоря: – Пусть Бог сурово накажет меня, если я поем хлеба или чего-нибудь еще прежде, чем зайдет солнце!

And all the people come to cause David to eat bread while yet day, and David sweareth, saying, `Thus doth God to me, and thus He doth add, for -- before the going in of the sun, I taste no bread or any other thing.'

36 В есь народ заметил это и был этим доволен; да и все, что делал царь, нравилось всему народу.

And all the people have discerned, and it is good in their eyes, as all that the king hath done is good in the eyes of all the people;

37 Т ак в тот день весь народ и весь Израиль узнал, что царь не принимал никакого участия в убийстве Авнера, сына Нира.

and all the people know, even all Israel, in that day, that it hath not been from the king -- to put to death Abner son of Ner.

38 И царь сказал своим людям: – Разве вы не понимаете, что сегодня в Израиле пал вождь и великий человек?

And the king saith unto his servants, `Do ye not know that a prince and a great one hath fallen this day in Israel?

39 И сегодня, хотя я и помазанный царь, я слаб, эти сыновья Саруи для меня слишком сильны. Пусть Господь воздаст делающему злое по злобе его!

and I to-day tender, and an anointed king: and these men, sons of Zeruiah, too hard for me; Jehovah doth recompense to the doer of the evil according to his evil.'
