1 С лушайте это, все народы, внимайте, все живущие на земле,

To the Overseer. -- By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.

2 и простые, и знатные, равно и богатые, и бедные.

Both low and high, together rich and needy.

3 И зрекут уста мои мудрость, и раздумья моего сердца дадут понимание.

My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart things of understanding.

4 С лух приклоню я к притче, открою под арфу загадку мою:

I incline to a simile mine ear, I open with a harp my riddle:

5 ч его мне бояться в дни бедствия, когда злые лжецы меня окружают –

Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters doth compass me.

6 т е, кто надеется на сокровища и кичится большим богатством?

Those trusting on their wealth, And in the multitude of their riches, Do shew themselves foolish.

7 Н икто не в силах искупить брата или дать Богу выкуп за его жизнь:

A brother doth no one at all ransom, He doth not give to God his atonement.

8 в ыкуп за жизнь велик, не найдется платы такой,

And precious the redemption of their soul, And it hath ceased -- to the age.

9 ч тобы он остался вовеки жить и не увидел могилы.

And still he liveth for ever, He seeth not the pit.

10 К аждый видит, что мудрые умирают, вместе гибнут глупец и невежда, оставляя богатство свое другим.

For he seeth wise men die, Together the foolish and brutish perish, And have left to others their wealth.

11 И х могилы пребудут им домом на веки веков, их жилищем из поколения в поколение. Что с того, что они в свою честь называли земли?

Their heart: Their houses to the age, Their tabernacles to all generations. They proclaimed their names over the lands.

12 В едь человек в чести не пребудет, он подобен животным, которые погибают.

And man in honour doth not remain, He hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off.

13 Т акова участь тех, кто надеется на себя, и доля тех, кто после них одобряет слова их. Пауза

This their way folly for them, And their posterity with their sayings are pleased. Selah.

14 К ак овцы, они уготованы миру мертвых; смерть будет их пасти, а наутро праведники будут править ими. В прах обратятся их тела, жилищем их будет мир мертвых.

As sheep for Sheol they have set themselves, Death doth afflict them, And the upright rule over them in the morning, And their form for consumption. Sheol a dwelling for him.

15 Н о мою жизнь искупит Бог от власти мира мертвых, когда примет меня к Себе. Пауза

Only, God doth ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He doth receive me. Selah.

16 Н е завидуй, когда человек богатеет, и слава его дома множится.

Fear not, when one maketh wealth, When the honour of his house is abundant,

17 Н ичего не возьмет он с собой, когда умрет, и слава его вслед за ним не пойдет.

For at his death he receiveth nothing, His honour goeth not down after him.

18 П усть при жизни считал он себя счастливцем – люди хвалят того, кто преуспевает –

For his soul in his life he blesseth, (And they praise thee when thou dost well for thyself.)

19 о н пристанет к сонму своих отцов, что вовек не увидят света.

It cometh to the generation of his fathers, For ever they see not the light.

20 Ч еловек, который в чести, но немудр, подобен животным, которые погибают.

Man in honour, who understandest not, Hath been like the beasts, they have been cut off!
