1 К роткий ответ отвращает гнев, а резкое слово будит ярость.

A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.

2 Я зык мудрых восхваляет знание, а уста глупых изрыгают глупость.

The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.

3 Г лаза Господни смотрят повсюду, и за злыми следят они, и за добрыми.

In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.

4 Я зык умиротворяющий – дерево жизни, а лживый язык сокрушает дух.

A healed tongue a tree of life, And perverseness in it -- a breach in the spirit.

5 Г лупец презирает отцовский урок, а слушающий упреки благоразумен.

A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.

6 В доме праведника – много сокровищ, а доход нечестивых приносит беду им.

the house of the righteous abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked -- trouble.

7 У ста мудрых распространяют знание; сердца глупцов не таковы.

The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools not right.

8 Г осподь гнушается жертвой злодеев, а молитва праведных Ему угодна.

The sacrifice of the wicked an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright His delight.

9 Г осподь гнушается путем нечестивого, но любит того, кто идет за праведностью.

An abomination to Jehovah the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.

10 О ставляющего путь ждет жестокий урок; ненавидящий упрек погибнет.

Chastisement grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.

11 М ир мертвых и Погибель открыты пред Господом; сколь же больше – людские сердца!

Sheol and destruction before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men.

12 Г лумливый не любит, когда его упрекают, не станет он с мудрым советоваться.

A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.

13 П ри счастливом сердце лицо сияет, а сердечная скорбь сокрушает дух.

A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.

14 Р азум рассудительных ищет знания, а уста глупцов питаются глупостью.

The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.

15 В се дни удрученных – скорбь, а у веселого сердца – вечный пир.

All the days of the afflicted evil, And gladness of heart a perpetual banquet.

16 Л учше немного, но со страхом перед Господом, чем большое богатство и с ним – тревога.

Better a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.

17 Л учше блюдо из овощей там, где любовь, чем из откормленного теленка, где ненависть.

Better an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.

18 Т от, кто гневлив, возбуждает раздор, а терпеливый угашает распрю.

A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.

19 П уть лентяя колючками зарос, а дорога праведных – гладкая.

The way of the slothful as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.

20 М удрый сын радует отца, а глупец презирает мать.

A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.

21 Г лупость – радость для скудоумных, а разумный держится прямого пути.

Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth going.

22 Б ез совета рушатся замыслы, а при многих советчиках они состоятся.

Without counsel the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.

23 К месту ответить – радость для всякого, и как замечательно слово ко времени!

Joy to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season -- how good!

24 П уть жизни ведет рассудительных вверх, чтобы спасти их от мира мертвых внизу.

A path of life on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath.

25 Г осподь разрушает дома гордецов, но хранит границы владений вдов.

The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.

26 Г осподь гнушается злыми мыслями, а добрые слова для Него чисты.

An abomination to Jehovah thoughts of wickedness, And pure sayings of pleasantness.

27 Ж адный до наживы наведет на свою семью беду, а ненавидящий взятки будет жить.

A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.

28 Р азум праведного взвешивает ответ, а уста нечестивых изрыгают зло.

The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.

29 Г осподь далек от злодеев, а молитвы праведных слушает.

Far Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.

30 Р адостный взгляд веселит сердце, и добрые вести – здоровье телу.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.

31 С лушающий благотворный упрек будет как дома среди мудрецов.

An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.

32 П ренебрегающий наставлением презирает себя самого, а внимающий упреку обретает рассудительность.

Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.

33 С трах перед Господом учит мудрости, и смирение предшествует славу.

The fear of Jehovah the instruction of wisdom, And before honour humility!
