1 J ehová dijo a Moisés: —Entra a la presencia del faraón, porque yo he endurecido su corazón y el corazón de sus siervos, para mostrar entre ellos estas mis señales,

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh, for I have declared hard his heart, and the heart of his servants, so that I set these My signs in their midst,

2 p ara que cuentes a tus hijos y a tus nietos las cosas que yo hice en Egipto y las señales que hice entre ellos, y así sepáis que yo soy Jehová.

and so that thou recountest in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, that which I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have set among them, and ye have known that I Jehovah.'

3 E ntonces fueron Moisés y Aarón ante el faraón, y le dijeron: —Jehová, el Dios de los hebreos, ha dicho así: “¿Hasta cuándo no querrás humillarte delante de mí? Deja ir a mi pueblo, para que me sirva.

And Moses cometh in -- Aaron also -- unto Pharaoh, and they say unto him, `Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Until when hast thou refused to be humbled at My presence? send My people away, and they serve Me,

4 Y si aún rehúsas dejarlo ir, mañana yo traeré sobre tu territorio la langosta,

for if thou art refusing to send My people away, lo, I am bringing in to-morrow the locust into thy border,

5 l a cual cubrirá la faz de la tierra, de modo que no pueda verse la tierra. Ella comerá lo que escapó, lo que os quedó del granizo; comerá asimismo todo árbol que crece en el campo.

and it hath covered the eye of the land, and none is able to see the land, and it hath eaten the remnant of that which is escaped, which is left to you from the hail, and it hath eaten every tree which is springing for you out of the field;

6 L lenará tus casas, las casas de todos tus siervos y las casas de todos los egipcios, cual nunca vieron tus padres ni tus abuelos, desde que ellos aparecieron sobre la tierra hasta hoy.” Y dándose vuelta, salió de la presencia del faraón.

and they have filled thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, which neither thy fathers nor thy father's fathers have seen, since the day of their being on the ground unto this day,' -- and he turneth and goeth out from Pharaoh.

7 E ntonces los siervos del faraón le dijeron: —¿Hasta cuándo será este hombre una amenaza para nosotros? Deja ir a estos hombres, para que sirvan a Jehová, su Dios. ¿Acaso no sabes todavía que Egipto está ya destruido?

And the servants of Pharaoh say unto him, `Until when doth this become a snare to us? send the men away, and they serve Jehovah their God; knowest thou not yet that Egypt hath perished?'

8 L lamaron, pues, de nuevo a Moisés y Aarón ante el faraón, el cual les dijo: —Andad, servid a Jehová, vuestro Dios. ¿Quiénes son los que han de ir?

And Moses is brought back -- Aaron also -- unto Pharaoh, and he saith unto them, `Go, serve Jehovah your God; -- who and who those going?'

9 M oisés respondió: —Hemos de ir con nuestros niños y con nuestros viejos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas; con nuestras ovejas y con nuestras vacas hemos de ir, porque es nuestra fiesta solemne para Jehová.

And Moses saith, `With our young ones, and with our aged ones, we go, with our sons, and with our daughters, with our flock, and our herd, we go, for we have a festival to Jehovah.'

10 É l les dijo: —¡Así sea Jehová con vosotros! ¿Cómo os voy a dejar ir a vosotros y a vuestros niños? ¡Mirad cómo el mal está delante de vuestro rostro!

And he saith unto them, `Be it so, Jehovah with you when I send you and your infants away; see -- for evil before your faces;

11 N o será así; id ahora vosotros los hombres y servid a Jehová, pues esto es lo que vosotros pedisteis. Y los echaron de la presencia del faraón.

not so! go now, ye who men, and serve Jehovah, for that ye are seeking;' and casteth them out from the presence of Pharaoh.

12 E ntonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: —Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto, para traer la langosta, a fin de que suba sobre el país de Egipto y consuma todo lo que el granizo dejó.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch out thy hand against the land of Egypt for the locust, and it goeth up against the land of Egypt, and doth eat every herb of the land -- all that the hail hath left.'

13 E xtendió Moisés su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y Jehová trajo un viento oriental sobre el país todo aquel día y toda aquella noche; y al venir la mañana, el viento oriental trajo la langosta.

And Moses stretcheth out his rod against the land of Egypt, and Jehovah hath led an east wind over the land all that day, and all the night; the morning hath been, and the east wind hath lifted up the locust.

14 L a langosta subió sobre toda la tierra de Egipto y se asentó en todo el país de Egipto en tan gran cantidad como no la hubo antes ni la habrá después;

And the locust goeth up against all the land of Egypt, and resteth in all the border of Egypt -- very grievous: before it there hath not been such a locust as it, and after it there is none such;

15 c ubrió la faz de todo el país y oscureció la tierra; consumió toda la hierba de la tierra y todo el fruto de los árboles que había dejado el granizo; no quedó cosa verde en los árboles ni en la hierba del campo en toda la tierra de Egipto.

and it covereth the eye of all the land, and the land is darkened; and it eateth every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail hath left, and there hath not been left any green thing in the trees, or in the herb of the field, in all the land of Egypt.'

16 E ntonces el faraón se apresuró a llamar a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: —He pecado contra Jehová, vuestro Dios, y contra vosotros.

And Pharaoh hasteth to call for Moses and for Aaron, and saith, `I have sinned against Jehovah your God, and against you,

17 P ero os ruego ahora que perdonéis mi pecado solamente esta vez, y que oréis a Jehová, vuestro Dios, para que aparte de mí al menos esta plaga mortal.

and now, bear with, I pray you, my sin, only this time, and make ye supplication to Jehovah your God, that He turn aside from off me only this death.'

18 S alió Moisés de delante del faraón, y oró a Jehová.

And he goeth out from Pharaoh, and maketh supplication unto Jehovah,

19 E ntonces Jehová trajo un fortísimo viento occidental que se llevó la langosta y la arrojó en el Mar Rojo; ni una langosta quedó en todo el país de Egipto.

and Jehovah turneth a very strong sea wind, and it lifteth up the locust, and bloweth it into the Red Sea -- there hath not been left one locust in all the border of Egypt;

20 P ero Jehová endureció el corazón del faraón, y éste no dejó ir a los hijos de Israel. La plaga de tinieblas

and Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away.

21 J ehová dijo a Moisés: —Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tanto que cualquiera las palpe.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch out thy hand towards the heavens, and there is darkness over the land of Egypt, and the darkness is felt.'

22 E xtendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y por tres días hubo densas tinieblas sobre toda la tierra de Egipto.

And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the heavens, and there is darkness -- thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;

23 N inguno vio a su prójimo, ni nadie se levantó de su lugar en tres días; pero todos los hijos de Israel tenían luz en sus habitaciones.

they have not seen one another, and none hath risen from his place three days; and to all the sons of Israel there hath been light in their dwellings.'

24 E ntonces el faraón hizo llamar a Moisés, y dijo: —Id, servid a Jehová; que solamente queden vuestras ovejas y vuestras vacas. Vayan también vuestros niños con vosotros.

And Pharaoh calleth unto Moses and saith, `Go ye, serve Jehovah, only your flock and your herd are stayed, your infants also go with you;'

25 M oisés respondió: —Tú nos darás los animales para los sacrificios y holocaustos que ofreceremos a Jehová, nuestro Dios.

and Moses saith, `Thou also dost give in our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, and we have prepared for Jehovah our God;

26 Y nuestro ganado irá también con nosotros. No quedará ni una pezuña, porque de él hemos de tomar para servir a Jehová, nuestro Dios, y no sabemos con qué hemos de servir a Jehová hasta que lleguemos allá.

and also our cattle doth go with us, there is not left a hoof, for from it we do take to serve Jehovah our God; and we -- we know not how we do serve Jehovah till our going thither.'

27 P ero Jehová endureció el corazón del faraón, y éste no quiso dejarlos ir.

And Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not been willing to send them away;

28 Y le dijo el faraón: —Retírate de mi presencia. Cuídate de no ver más mi rostro, pues el día en que veas mi rostro, morirás.

and Pharaoh saith to him, `Go from me, take heed to thyself, add not to see my face, for in the day thou seest my face thou diest;'

29 Y Moisés respondió: —¡Bien has dicho! No veré más tu rostro.

and Moses saith, `Rightly hast thou spoken, I add not any more to see thy face.'
