1 J ehová, tú eres mi Dios; te exaltaré, alabaré tu nombre, porque has hecho maravillas; tus consejos antiguos son verdad y firmeza.

O Jehovah, my God Thou, I exalt Thee, I confess Thy name, For Thou hast done a wonderful thing, Counsels of old, stedfastness, O stedfast One.

2 P orque convertiste la ciudad en escombros, la ciudad fortificada, en ruina, y el alcázar de los extranjeros ya no será ciudad ni nunca más será reedificado.

For Thou didst make of a city a heap, Of a fenced city a ruin, A high place of strangers from a city, To the age it is not built.

3 P or esto te glorificará el pueblo fuerte, te temerá la ciudad de gente poderosa.

Therefore honour Thee do a strong people, A city of the terrible nations feareth Thee.

4 P orque fuiste fortaleza para el pobre, fortaleza para el necesitado en su aflicción, refugio contra la tormenta, sombra contra el calor; porque el ímpetu de los violentos es como una tormenta que se abate contra el muro.

For Thou hast been a stronghold for the poor, A stronghold for the needy in his distress, A refuge from storm, a shadow from heat, When the spirit of the terrible as a storm -- a wall.

5 C omo el calor en lugar seco, así humillarás el orgullo de los extranjeros; y como calor debajo de una nube, harás marchitar el renuevo de los poderosos.

As heat in a dry place, The noise of strangers Thou humblest, Heat with the shadow of a thick cloud, The singing of the terrible is humbled.

6 Y Jehová de los ejércitos hará en este monte a todos los pueblos banquete de manjares suculentos, banquete de vinos refinados, de sustanciosos tuétanos y vinos generosos.

And made hath Jehovah of Hosts, For all the peoples in this mount, A banquet of fat things, a banquet of preserved things, Fat things full of marrow, preserved things refined.

7 Y destruirá en este monte la cubierta tendida sobre todos los pueblos, el velo que envuelve a todas las naciones.

And swallowed up hath He in this mountain The face of the wrapping that is wrapped over all the peoples, And of the covering that is spread over all the nations.

8 D estruirá a la muerte para siempre, y enjugará Jehová el Señor las lágrimas de todos los rostros y quitará la afrenta de su pueblo de toda la tierra; porque Jehová lo ha dicho.

He hath swallowed up death in victory, And wiped hath the Lord Jehovah, The tear from off all faces, And the reproach of His people He turneth aside from off all the earth, For Jehovah hath spoken.

9 S e dirá en aquel día: «¡He aquí, éste es nuestro Dios! Le hemos esperado, y nos salvará. ¡Éste es Jehová, a quien hemos esperado! Nos gozaremos y nos alegraremos en su salvación.»

And hath said in that day, `Lo, this our God, We waited for Him, and He saveth us, This Jehovah, we have waited for Him, We joy and rejoice in His salvation.'

10 P orque la mano de Jehová se posará sobre este monte; pero Moab será pisoteado en su mismo sitio, como es pisoteada la paja en el estercolero.

For rest doth the hand of Jehovah on this mountain, And trodden down is Moab under Him, As trodden down is straw on a dunghill.

11 Y extenderá sus manos por en medio de él, como las extiende el nadador para nadar; y abatirá su soberbia y la destreza de sus manos.

And he spread out his hands in its midst, As spread out doth the swimmer to swim; And He hath humbled his excellency With the machinations of his hands.

12 A batirá la fortaleza de tus altos muros: la humillará y la echará abajo, hasta el polvo.

And the fortress of the high place of thy walls He hath bowed down -- He hath made low, He hath caused to come to the earth, -- unto dust.
