1 O h Señor, Tú eres mi Dios; Te ensalzaré, daré alabanzas a Tu nombre, Porque has hecho maravillas, Designios concebidos desde tiempos antiguos con toda fidelidad.

O Jehovah, my God Thou, I exalt Thee, I confess Thy name, For Thou hast done a wonderful thing, Counsels of old, stedfastness, O stedfast One.

2 P orque has convertido la ciudad en un montón de escombros, La ciudad fortificada, en una ruina. El palacio de extranjeros ya no es ciudad, Nunca será reedificado.

For Thou didst make of a city a heap, Of a fenced city a ruin, A high place of strangers from a city, To the age it is not built.

3 P or eso Te glorificará un pueblo fuerte, Ciudades de crueles naciones Te reverenciarán.

Therefore honour Thee do a strong people, A city of the terrible nations feareth Thee.

4 P orque Tú has sido baluarte para el desvalido, Baluarte para el necesitado en su angustia, Refugio contra la tormenta, sombra contra el calor. Pues el aliento de los crueles Es como turbión contra el muro.

For Thou hast been a stronghold for the poor, A stronghold for the needy in his distress, A refuge from storm, a shadow from heat, When the spirit of the terrible as a storm -- a wall.

5 C omo calor durante la sequía, Tú aquietas el estruendo de los extranjeros. Como el calor a la sombra de una nube, es acallado el cántico de los tiranos.

As heat in a dry place, The noise of strangers Thou humblest, Heat with the shadow of a thick cloud, The singing of the terrible is humbled.

6 E l Señor de los ejércitos preparará en este monte para todos los pueblos un banquete de manjares suculentos, Un banquete de vino añejo, pedazos escogidos con tuétano, Y vino añejo refinado.

And made hath Jehovah of Hosts, For all the peoples in this mount, A banquet of fat things, a banquet of preserved things, Fat things full of marrow, preserved things refined.

7 Y destruirá en este monte la cobertura que cubre todos los pueblos, El velo que está extendido sobre todas las naciones.

And swallowed up hath He in this mountain The face of the wrapping that is wrapped over all the peoples, And of the covering that is spread over all the nations.

8 E l destruirá la muerte para siempre. El Señor Dios enjugará las lágrimas de todos los rostros, Y quitará el oprobio de Su pueblo de sobre toda la tierra, Porque el Señor ha hablado.

He hath swallowed up death in victory, And wiped hath the Lord Jehovah, The tear from off all faces, And the reproach of His people He turneth aside from off all the earth, For Jehovah hath spoken.

9 Y en aquel día se dirá: “Este es nuestro Dios a quien hemos esperado para que nos salvara. Este es el Señor a quien hemos esperado; Regocijémonos y alegrémonos en su salvación.”

And hath said in that day, `Lo, this our God, We waited for Him, and He saveth us, This Jehovah, we have waited for Him, We joy and rejoice in His salvation.'

10 P orque la mano del Señor reposará en este monte, Y Moab será pisoteado en su sitio Como es pisoteada la paja en el agua del muladar.

For rest doth the hand of Jehovah on this mountain, And trodden down is Moab under Him, As trodden down is straw on a dunghill.

11 Y en medio de él, Moab extenderá sus manos Como el nadador extiende sus manos para nadar, Pero el Señor abatirá su arrogancia y la destreza de sus manos.

And he spread out his hands in its midst, As spread out doth the swimmer to swim; And He hath humbled his excellency With the machinations of his hands.

12 Y derribará las fortalezas inconmovibles de tus murallas, Las humillará y las echará por tierra, hasta el polvo.

And the fortress of the high place of thy walls He hath bowed down -- He hath made low, He hath caused to come to the earth, -- unto dust.
