1 “ Yo envío a Mi mensajero (ángel), y él preparará el camino delante de Mí. Y vendrá de repente a Su templo el Señor a quien ustedes buscan; el mensajero del pacto en quien ustedes se complacen, ya viene;” dice el Señor de los ejércitos.

Lo, I am sending My messenger, And he hath prepared a way before Me, And suddenly come in unto his temple Doth the Lord whom ye are seeking, Even the messenger of the covenant, Whom ye are desiring, Lo, he is coming, said Jehovah of Hosts.

2 “ ¿Pero quién podrá soportar el día de Su venida? ¿Y quién podrá mantenerse en pie cuando El aparezca ? Porque El es como fuego de fundidor y como jabón de lavanderos.

And who is bearing the day of his coming? And who is standing in his appearing? For he as fire of a refiner, And as soap of a fuller.

3 Y El se sentará como fundidor y purificador de plata, y purificará a los hijos de Leví y los acrisolará como a oro y como a plata, y serán los que presenten ofrendas en justicia al Señor.

And he hath sat, a refiner and purifier of silver, And he hath purified the sons of Levi, And hath refined them as gold and as silver, And they have been to Jehovah bringing nigh a present in righteousness.

4 E ntonces será grata al Señor la ofrenda de Judá y de Jerusalén, como en los días de antaño y como en los años pasados.

And sweet to Jehovah hath been the present of Judah and Jerusalem, As in days of old, and as in former years.

5 M e acercaré a ustedes para el juicio, y seré un testigo veloz contra los hechiceros, contra los adúlteros, contra los que juran en falso y contra los que oprimen al jornalero en su salario, a la viuda y al huérfano, contra los que niegan el derecho del extranjero y los que no Me temen,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos.

And I have drawn near to you for judgment, And I have been a witness, Making haste against sorcerers, And against adulterers, And against swearers to a falsehood, And against oppressors of the hire of an hireling, Of a widow, and of a fatherless one, And those turning aside a sojourner, And who fear Me not, said Jehovah of Hosts.

6 “ Porque Yo, el Señor, no cambio; por eso ustedes, oh hijos de Jacob, no han sido consumidos. El Pago de los Diezmos

For I Jehovah, I have not changed, And ye, the sons of Jacob, Ye have not been consumed.

7 “ Desde los días de sus padres se han apartado de Mis estatutos y no los han guardado. Vuelvan a Mí y Yo volveré a ustedes,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos. Pero dicen: ‘¿Cómo hemos de volver?’

Even from the days of your fathers Ye have turned aside from My statutes, And ye have not taken heed. Turn back unto Me, and I turn back to you, Said Jehovah of Hosts. And ye have said, `In what do we turn back?'

8 “ ¿Robará el hombre a Dios? Pues ustedes Me están robando. Pero dicen: ‘¿En qué Te hemos robado?’ En los diezmos y en las ofrendas.

Doth man deceive God? but ye are deceiving Me, And ye have said: `In what have we deceived Thee?' The tithe and the heave-offering!

9 C on maldición están malditos, porque ustedes, la nación entera, Me están robando.

With a curse ye are cursed! And Me ye are deceiving -- this nation -- all of it.

10 T raigan todo el diezmo al alfolí, para que haya alimento en Mi casa; y pónganme ahora a prueba en esto;” dice el Señor de los ejércitos “si no les abro las ventanas de los cielos, y derramo para ustedes bendición hasta que sobreabunde.

Bring in all the tithe unto the treasure-house, And there is food in My house; When ye have tried Me, now, with this, Said Jehovah of Hosts, Do not I open to you the windows of heaven? Yea, I have emptied on you a blessing till there is no space.

11 P or ustedes reprenderé al devorador, para que no les destruya los frutos del suelo, ni su vid en el campo sea estéril,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos.

And I have pushed for you against the consumer, And He doth not destroy to you the fruit of the ground, Nor miscarry to you doth the vine in the field, Said Jehovah of Hosts.

12 “ Y todas las naciones los llamarán a ustedes bienaventurados, porque serán una tierra de delicias,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos. El Justo y el Injusto

And declared you happy have all the nations, For ye are a delightful land, said Jehovah of Hosts.

13 “ Las palabras de ustedes han sido duras contra Mí,” dice el Señor. Pero dicen: ‘¿Qué hemos hablado contra Ti?’

Hard against Me have been your words, Said Jehovah, and ye have said: `What have we spoken against Thee?'

14 U stedes han dicho: ‘En vano es servir a Dios. ¿Qué provecho hay en que guardemos Sus ordenanzas y en que andemos de duelo delante del Señor de los ejércitos?

Ye have said, `A vain thing to serve God! And what gain when we kept His charge? And when we have gone in black, Because of Jehovah of Hosts?

15 P or eso ahora llamamos bienaventurados a los soberbios. No sólo prosperan los que hacen el mal, sino que también ponen a prueba a Dios y escapan sin ser castigados.’”

And now, we are declaring the proud happy, Yea, built up have been those doing wickedness, Yea they have tempted God, and escape.'

16 E ntonces los que temían (reverenciaban) al Señor se hablaron unos a otros, y el Señor prestó atención y escuchó, y fue escrito delante de El un libro memorial para los que temen (reverencian) al Señor y para los que estiman Su nombre.

Then have those fearing Jehovah spoken one to another, And Jehovah doth attend and hear, And written is a book of memorial before Him Of those fearing Jehovah, And of those esteeming His name.

17 “ Y ellos serán Míos,” dice el Señor de los ejércitos “el día en que Yo prepare Mi tesoro especial, y los perdonaré como un hombre perdona al hijo que le sirve.”

And they have been to Me, said Jehovah of Hosts, In the day that I am appointing -- a peculiar treasure, And I have had pity on them, As one hath pity on his son who is serving him.

18 E ntonces volverán a distinguir entre el justo y el impío, entre el que sirve a Dios y el que no Le sirve.

And ye have turned back and considered, Between the righteous and the wicked, Between the servant of God and him who is not His servant.
