1 B ienaventurado el que piensa en el pobre; En el día del mal el Señor lo librará.

To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. O the happiness of him Who is acting wisely unto the poor, In a day of evil doth Jehovah deliver him.

2 E l Señor lo protegerá y lo mantendrá con vida, Y será bienaventurado sobre la tierra. Tú no lo entregarás a la voluntad de sus enemigos.

Jehovah doth preserve him and revive him, He is happy in the land, And Thou givest him not into the will of his enemies.

3 E l Señor lo sostendrá en su lecho de enfermo; En su enfermedad, restaurarás su salud.

Jehovah supporteth on a couch of sickness, All his bed Thou hast turned in his weakness.

4 Y o dije: “Oh Señor, ten piedad de mí; Sana mi alma, porque contra Ti he pecado.”

I -- I said, `O Jehovah, favour me, Heal my soul, for I did sin against Thee,'

5 M is enemigos hablan mal contra mí, diciendo: “¿Cuándo morirá y perecerá su nombre?”

Mine enemies say evil of me: When he dieth -- his name hath perished!

6 Y si alguien viene a ver me, habla falsedades; Su corazón recoge iniquidad para sí; Cuando sale fuera, lo publica.

And if he came to see -- vanity he speaketh, His heart gathereth iniquity to itself, He goeth out -- at the street he speaketh.

7 T odos los que me odian murmuran a una contra mí; Traman hacerme daño, diciendo:

All hating me whisper together against me, Against me they devise evil to me:

8 “ Una cosa del demonio ha sido derramada sobre él, Así que cuando se acueste, no volverá a levantarse.”

A thing of Belial is poured out on him, And because he lay down he riseth not again.

9 A un mi íntimo amigo en quien yo confiaba, El que de mi pan comía, Contra mí ha levantado su talón.

Even mine ally, in whom I trusted, One eating my bread, made great the heel against me,

10 P ero Tú, oh Señor, ten piedad de mí y levántame, Para que yo les pague como se merecen.

And Thou, Jehovah, favour me, And cause me to rise, And I give recompence to them.

11 E n esto sabré que conmigo Te complaces, Que mi enemigo no cante victoria sobre mí.

By this I have known, That Thou hast delighted in me, Because my enemy shouteth not over me.

12 E n cuanto a mí, me mantienes en mi integridad, Y me afirmas en Tu presencia para siempre.

As to me, in mine integrity, Thou hast taken hold upon me, And causest me to stand before Thee to the age.

13 B endito sea el Señor, Dios de Israel, Desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad. Amén y amén.
