1 A l tercer día Ester se vistió con sus vestiduras reales y se puso en el atrio interior del palacio del rey delante de los aposentos del rey. El rey estaba sentado en su trono real en el aposento del trono, frente a la entrada del palacio.

And it cometh to pass on the third day, that Esther putteth on royalty, and standeth in the inner-court of the house of the king over-against the house of the king, and the king is sitting on his royal throne, in the royal-house, over-against the opening of the house,

2 C uando el rey vio a la reina Ester de pie en el atrio, ella obtuvo gracia ante sus ojos; y el rey extendió hacia Ester el cetro de oro que estaba en su mano. Ester entonces se acercó y tocó el extremo del cetro.

and it cometh to pass, at the king's seeing Esther the queen standing in the court, she hath received grace in his eyes, and the king holdeth out to Esther the golden sceptre that in his hand, and Esther draweth near, and toucheth the top of the sceptre.

3 Y el rey le dijo: “¿Qué te preocupa, reina Ester? ¿Y cuál es tu petición? Hasta la mitad del reino se te dará.”

And the king saith to her, `What -- to thee Esther, O queen? and what thy request? unto the half of the kingdom -- and it is given to thee.'

4 E ster respondió: “Si le parece bien al rey, venga hoy el rey con Amán al banquete que le he preparado.”

And Esther saith, `If unto the king good, the king doth come in, and Haman, to-day, unto the banquet that I have made for him;'

5 “ Traigan pronto a Amán para que hagamos como Ester desea,” dijo el rey. Y el rey vino con Amán al banquete que Ester había preparado.

and the king saith, `Haste ye Haman -- to do the word of Esther;' and the king cometh in, and Haman, unto the banquet that Esther hath made.

6 Y mientras bebían el vino en el banquete, el rey dijo a Ester: “¿Cuál es tu petición? Te será concedida. ¿Y cuál es tu deseo? Aun hasta la mitad del reino, se te dará.”

And the king saith to Esther, during the banquet of wine, `What thy petition? and it is given to thee; and what thy request? unto the half of the kingdom -- and it is done.'

7 R espondió Ester: “Mi petición y mi deseo es:

And Esther answereth and saith, `My petition and my request:

8 s i he hallado gracia ante los ojos del rey, y si le place al rey conceder mi petición y hacer lo que yo pido, que venga el rey con Amán al banquete que yo les prepararé, y mañana haré conforme a la palabra del rey.”

if I have found grace in the eyes of the king, and if unto the king good, to give my petition, and to perform my request, the king doth come, and Haman, unto the banquet that I make for them, and to-morrow I do according to the word of the king.'

9 A quel día Amán salió alegre y con corazón contento; pero cuando Amán vio a Mardoqueo en la puerta del rey y que éste no se levantaba ni temblaba delante de él, Amán se llenó de furor contra Mardoqueo.

And Haman goeth forth on that day rejoicing and glad in heart, and at Haman's seeing Mordecai in the gate of the king, and he hath not risen nor moved for him, then is Haman full of fury against Mordecai.

10 A mán, sin embargo, se contuvo, fue a su casa, y mandó traer a sus amigos y a su mujer Zeres.

And Haman forceth himself, and cometh in unto his house, and sendeth, and bringeth in his friends, and Zeresh his wife,

11 E ntonces Amán les contó la gloria de sus riquezas, la multitud de sus hijos, y todas las ocasiones en que el rey lo había engrandecido, y cómo lo había exaltado sobre los príncipes y siervos del rey.

and Haman recounteth to them the glory of his wealth, and the abundance of his sons, and all that with which the king made him great, and with which he lifted him up above the heads and servants of the king.

12 Y Amán añadió: “Aun la reina Ester no permitió que nadie, excepto yo, viniera con el rey al banquete que ella había preparado; y también para mañana estoy invitado por ella junto con el rey.

And Haman saith, `Yea, Esther the queen brought none in with the king, unto the feast that she made, except myself, and also for to-morrow I am called to her, with the king,

13 S in embargo nada de esto me satisface mientras vea al Judío Mardoqueo sentado a la puerta del rey.”

and all this is not profitable to me, during all the time that I am seeing Mordecai the Jew sitting in the gate of the king.'

14 S u mujer Zeres y todos sus amigos le dijeron: “Haz que se prepare una horca de 50 codos (22. 5m) de alto, y por la mañana pide al rey que ahorquen a Mardoqueo en ella; entonces ve gozoso con el rey al banquete.” Y el consejo agradó a Amán, y mandó preparar la horca.

And Zeresh his wife saith to him, and all his friends, `Let them prepare a tree, in height fifty cubits, and in the morning speak to the king, and they hang Mordecai on it, and go thou in with the king unto the banquet rejoicing;' and the thing is good before Haman, and he prepareth the tree.
