1 L os apóstoles y los hermanos que estaban por toda Judea oyeron que también los Gentiles habían recibido la palabra de Dios.

And the apostles and the brethren who are in Judea heard that also the nations did receive the word of God,

2 C uando Pedro subió a Jerusalén, los que eran de la circuncisión (Judíos Cristianos) le reprocharon:

and when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were contending with him,

3 “ Tú entraste en casa de incircuncisos y comiste con ellos.”

saying -- `Unto men uncircumcised thou didst go in, and didst eat with them!'

4 E ntonces Pedro comenzó a explicarles en orden lo sucedido:

And Peter having begun, did expound to them in order saying,

5 “ Estaba yo en la ciudad de Jope orando, y vi en éxtasis una visión: un objeto semejante a un gran lienzo que descendía, bajado del cielo por las cuatro puntas, y vino hasta mí.

`I was in the city of Joppa praying, and I saw in a trance a vision, a certain vessel coming down, as a great sheet by four corners being let down out of the heaven, and it came unto me;

6 C uando fijé mis ojos en él y lo observaba, vi cuadrúpedos terrestres, fieras, reptiles y aves del cielo.

at which having looked stedfastly, I was considering, and I saw the four-footed beasts of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the fowls of heaven;

7 T ambién oí una voz que me decía: ‘Levántate Pedro, mata y come.’

and I heard a voice saying to me, Having risen, Peter, slay and eat;

8 P ero yo dije: ‘De ninguna manera, Señor, porque nada impuro o inmundo ha entrado jamás en mi boca.’

and I said, Not so, Lord; because anything common or unclean hath at no time entered into my mouth;

9 P ero una voz del cielo respondió por segunda vez: ‘Lo que Dios ha limpiado, no lo llames tú impuro.’

and a voice did answer me a second time out of the heaven, What God did cleanse, thou -- declare not thou common.

10 E sto sucedió tres veces, y todo volvió a ser llevado arriba al cielo.

`And this happened thrice, and again was all drawn up to the heaven,

11 “ En aquel momento se aparecieron tres hombres delante de la casa donde estábamos, los cuales habían sido enviados a mí desde Cesarea.

and, lo, immediately, three men stood at the house in which I was, having been sent from Cesarea unto me,

12 Y el Espíritu Santo me dijo que fuera con ellos sin dudar (sin hacer ninguna distinción). Estos seis hermanos fueron también conmigo y entramos en la casa de aquel hombre.

and the Spirit said to me to go with them, nothing doubting, and these six brethren also went with me, and we did enter into the house of the man,

13 Y él nos contó cómo había visto al ángel de pie en su casa, el cual le dijo: ‘Envía unos hombres a Jope y haz traer a Simón, que también se llama Pedro,

he declared also to us how he saw the messenger in his house standing, and saying to him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is surnamed Peter,

14 q uien te dirá palabras por las cuales serás salvo, tú y toda tu casa.’

who shall speak sayings by which thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.

15 C uando comencé a hablar, el Espíritu Santo descendió sobre ellos, tal como lo hizo sobre nosotros al principio.

`And in my beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit did fall upon them, even as also upon us in the beginning,

16 E ntonces me acordé de las palabras del Señor, cuando dijo: ‘Juan bautizó con agua, pero ustedes serán bautizados con el Espíritu Santo.’

and I remembered the saying of the Lord, how he said, John indeed did baptize with water, and ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit;

17 P or tanto, si Dios les dio a ellos el mismo don que también nos dio a nosotros después de creer en el Señor Jesucristo, ¿quién era yo para poder impedírselo a Dios ?”

if then the equal gift God did give to them as also to us, having believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, I -- how was I able to withstand God?'

18 A l oír esto se calmaron, y glorificaron a Dios, diciendo: “Así que también a los Gentiles ha concedido Dios el arrepentimiento que conduce a la vida.” La Iglesia en Antioquía

And they, having heard these things, were silent, and were glorifying God, saying, `Then, indeed, also to the nations did God give the reformation to life.'

19 A hora bien, los que habían sido esparcidos a causa de la persecución (tribulación) que sobrevino después de la muerte de Esteban, llegaron hasta Fenicia, Chipre y Antioquía, no hablando la palabra a nadie, sino sólo a los Judíos.

Those, indeed, therefore, having been scattered abroad, from the tribulation that came after Stephen, went through unto Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none except to Jews only;

20 P ero había algunos de ellos, hombres de Chipre y de Cirene, los cuales al llegar a Antioquía, hablaban también a los Griegos, predicando el evangelio (las buenas nuevas) del Señor Jesús.

and there were certain of them men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who having entered into Antioch, were speaking unto the Hellenists, proclaiming good news -- the Lord Jesus,

21 L a mano del Señor estaba con ellos, y gran número que creyó se convirtió al Señor.

and the hand of the Lord was with them, a great number also, having believed, did turn unto the Lord.

22 L a noticia de esto llegó a oídos de la iglesia de Jerusalén y enviaron a Bernabé a Antioquía,

And the account was heard in the ears of the assembly that in Jerusalem concerning them, and they sent forth Barnabas to go through unto Antioch,

23 e l cual, cuando vino y vio la gracia de Dios, se regocijó y animaba a todos para que con corazón firme permanecieran fieles al Señor;

who, having come, and having seen the grace of God, was glad, and was exhorting all with purpose of heart to cleave to the Lord,

24 p orque era un hombre bueno, y lleno del Espíritu Santo y de fe. Y una gran multitud fue agregada al Señor.

because he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit, and of faith, and a great multitude was added to the Lord.

25 B ernabé salió rumbo a Tarso para buscar a Saulo;

And Barnabas went forth to Tarsus, to seek for Saul,

26 y cuando lo encontró, lo trajo a Antioquía. Y se reunieron con la iglesia por todo un año, y enseñaban a las multitudes; y a los discípulos se les llamó Cristianos por primera vez en Antioquía.

and having found him, he brought him to Antioch, and it came to pass that they a whole year did assemble together in the assembly, and taught a great multitude, the disciples also were divinely called first in Antioch Christians.

27 P or aquellos días unos profetas descendieron de Jerusalén a Antioquía.

And in those days there came from Jerusalem prophets to Antioch,

28 Y levantándose uno de ellos, llamado Agabo, daba a entender por el Espíritu Santo, que ciertamente habría una gran hambre en toda la tierra. Y esto ocurrió durante el reinado del emperador Claudio.

and one of them, by name Agabus, having stood up, did signify through the Spirit a great dearth is about to be throughout all the world -- which also came to pass in the time of Claudius Caesar --

29 L os discípulos, conforme a lo que cada uno tenía, determinaron enviar una ayuda a los hermanos que habitaban en Judea.

and the disciples, according as any one was prospering, determined each of them to send for ministration to the brethren dwelling in Judea,

30 Y así lo hicieron, mandándola a los ancianos por mano de Bernabé y de Saulo.

which also they did, having sent unto the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
