1 “ Estos son los estatutos y los decretos que observarán cuidadosamente en la tierra que el Señor, el Dios de tus padres, te ha dado para que la poseas todos los días que ustedes vivan sobre su suelo.

`These the statutes and the judgments which ye observe to do in the land which Jehovah, God of thy fathers, hath given to thee to possess it, all the days that ye are living on the ground:

2 D estruirán completamente todos los lugares donde las naciones que desposeerán sirven a sus dioses: sobre los montes altos, sobre las colinas y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.

ye do utterly destroy all the places where the nations which ye are dispossessing served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the heights, and under every green tree;

3 Y demolerán sus altares, quebrarán sus pilares sagrados, quemarán a fuego sus imágenes de Asera, derribarán las imágenes talladas de sus dioses y borrarán su nombre de aquel lugar.

and ye have broken down their altars, and shivered their standing pillars, and their shrines ye burn with fire, and graven images of their gods ye cut down, and have destroyed their name out of that place.

4 N o actuarán así con el Señor su Dios,

`Ye do not do so to Jehovah your God;

5 s ino que buscarán al Señor en el lugar en que el Señor su Dios escoja de todas sus tribus, para poner allí Su nombre para Su morada, y allí ustedes irán.

but unto the place which Jehovah your God doth choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, to His tabernacle ye seek, and thou hast entered thither,

6 A llí llevarán sus holocaustos, sus sacrificios, sus diezmos, la contribución de su mano, sus ofrendas votivas (de sus votos), sus ofrendas voluntarias, y el primogénito de sus vacas y de sus ovejas.

and hast brought in thither your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your free-will offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock;

7 A llí también ustedes y sus familias comerán en presencia del Señor su Dios, y se alegrarán en todas sus empresas en las cuales el Señor su Dios los ha bendecido.

and ye have eaten there before Jehovah your God, and have rejoiced in every putting forth of your hand, ye and your households, with which Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee.

8 D e ninguna manera harán lo que hacemos aquí hoy, que cada cual hace lo que le parece bien a sus propios ojos;

`Ye do not do according to all that we are doing here to-day, each anything that is right in his own eyes,

9 p orque todavía no han llegado al lugar de reposo y a la heredad que el Señor su Dios les da.

for ye have not come in hitherto unto the rest, and unto the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee;

10 C uando crucen el Jordán y habiten en la tierra que el Señor su Dios les da en heredad, y El les dé descanso de todos sus enemigos alrededor de ustedes para que habiten seguros,

and ye have passed over the Jordan, and have dwelt in the land which Jehovah your God is causing you to inherit, and He hath given rest to you from all your enemies round about, and ye have dwelt confidently:

11 e ntonces sucederá que al lugar que el Señor, su Dios, escoja para morada de Su nombre, allí traerán todo lo que yo les mando: sus holocaustos y sus sacrificios, sus diezmos y la ofrenda alzada de su mano, y todo lo más selecto de sus ofrendas votivas que han prometido al Señor.

`And it hath been, the place on which Jehovah your God doth fix to cause His name to tabernacle there, thither ye bring in all that which I am commanding you, your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all the choice of your vows which ye vow to Jehovah;

12 Y se alegrarán en presencia del Señor su Dios, ustedes, sus hijos y sus hijas, sus siervos y sus siervas, y el Levita que vive dentro de sus puertas, ya que no tiene parte ni heredad entre ustedes.

and ye have rejoiced before Jehovah your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your handmaids, and the Levite who within your gates, for he hath no part and inheritance with you.

13 “ Cuídate de no ofrecer tus holocaustos en cualquier lugar que veas,

`Take heed to thee, lest thou cause thy burnt-offerings to ascend in any place which thou seest,

14 s ino en el lugar que el Señor escoja en una de tus tribus, allí ofrecerás tus holocaustos, y allí harás todo lo que yo te mando. La Carne y las Ofrendas

except in the place which Jehovah doth choose in one of thy tribes, there thou dost cause thy burnt-offerings to ascend, and there thou dost do all that which I am commanding thee.

15 “ Sin embargo, podrás matar y comer carne dentro de todas tus puertas (tus ciudades), conforme a tu deseo, según la bendición que el Señor tu Dios te ha dado; el inmundo y el limpio podrán comerla, como si fuera de gacela o de ciervo.

`Only, with all the desire of thy soul thou dost sacrifice, and hast eaten flesh according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which He hath given to thee, in all thy gates; the unclean and the clean do eat it, as of the roe, and as of the hart.

16 S ólo que ustedes no comerán la sangre; la derramarán sobre la tierra como el agua.

`Only, the blood ye do not eat -- on the earth thou dost pour it as water;

17 N o te es permitido comer dentro de tus ciudades el diezmo de tu grano, de tu vino nuevo o de tu aceite, ni de los primogénitos de tus vacas o de tus ovejas, ni ninguna de las ofrendas votivas (los votos) que prometas, ni tus ofrendas voluntarias, ni la ofrenda alzada de tu mano,

thou art not able to eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, and of thy new wine, and thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock, and any of thy vows which thou vowest, and thy free-will offerings, and heave-offering of thy hand;

18 s ino que lo comerás en presencia del Señor tu Dios en el lugar que el Señor tu Dios escoja, tú, tu hijo y tu hija, tu siervo y tu sierva, y el Levita que vive dentro de tus puertas (de tus ciudades); y te alegrarás en presencia del Señor tu Dios de toda la obra de tus manos.

but before Jehovah thy God thou dost eat it, in the place which Jehovah thy God doth fix on, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy handmaid, and the Levite who within thy gates, and thou hast rejoiced before Jehovah thy God in every putting forth of thy hand;

19 C uídate de no desamparar al Levita mientras vivas en tu tierra.

take heed to thee lest thou forsake the Levite all thy days on thy ground.

20 “ Cuando el Señor tu Dios haya extendido tus fronteras como te ha prometido, y tú digas: ‘Comeré carne,’ porque deseas comer carne, entonces podrás comer carne, toda la que desees.

`When Jehovah thy God doth enlarge thy border, as He hath spoken to thee, and thou hast said, Let me eat flesh -- for thy soul desireth to eat flesh -- of all the desire of thy soul thou dost eat flesh.

21 S i el lugar que el Señor tu Dios escoge para poner Su nombre está muy lejos de ti, entonces podrás matar de tus vacas y de tus ovejas que el Señor te ha dado, como te he ordenado, y podrás comer dentro de tus puertas (de tus ciudades) todo lo que desees.

`When the place is far from thee which Jehovah thy God doth choose to put His name there, then thou hast sacrificed of thy herd and of thy flock which Jehovah hath given to thee, as I have commanded thee, and hast eaten within thy gates, of all the desire of thy soul;

22 T al como se come la gacela y el ciervo, así la podrás comer; el inmundo y el limpio podrán comer de ella.

only, as the roe and the hart is eaten, so dost thou eat it; the unclean and the clean doth alike eat it.

23 S ólo cuídate de no comer la sangre, porque la sangre es la vida, y no comerás la vida con la carne.

`Only, be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood the life, and thou dost not eat the life with the flesh;

24 N o la comerás; la derramarás sobre la tierra como el agua.

thou dost not eat it, on the earth thou dost pour it as water;

25 N o la comerás, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti, porque estarás haciendo lo que es justo delante del Señor.

thou dost not eat it, in order that it may be well with thee, and with thy sons after thee, when thou dost that which right in the eyes of Jehovah.

26 S olamente las cosas sagradas que tengas y tus ofrendas votivas (de tus votos), las tomarás e irás al lugar que el Señor escoja.

`Only, thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou dost take up, and hast gone in unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

27 O frecerás tus holocaustos, la carne y la sangre, sobre el altar del Señor tu Dios; y la sangre de tus sacrificios será derramada sobre el altar del Señor tu Dios, y podrás comer la carne.

and thou hast made thy burnt-offerings -- the flesh and the blood -- on the altar of Jehovah thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices is poured out by the altar of Jehovah thy God, and the flesh thou dost eat.

28 E scucha con cuidado todas estas palabras que te mando, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti para siempre, porque estarás haciendo lo que es bueno y justo delante del Señor tu Dios. Advertencia contra la Idolatría

Observe, and thou hast obeyed all these words which I am commanding thee, in order that it may be well with thee and with thy sons after thee -- to the age, when thou dost that which good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

29 “ Cuando el Señor tu Dios haya destruido delante de ti las naciones que vas a desposeer, y las hayas desposeído y habites en su tierra,

`When Jehovah thy God doth cut off the nations -- whither thou art going in to possess them -- from thy presence, and thou hast possessed them, and hast dwelt in their land --

30 c uídate de no caer en una trampa imitándolas, después que hayan sido destruidas delante de ti, y de no buscar sus dioses, diciendo: ‘¿Cómo servían estas naciones a sus dioses para que también yo haga lo mismo?’

take heed to thee, lest thou be snared after them, after their being destroyed out of thy presence, and lest thou enquire about their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods, and I do so -- even I?

31 N o procederás así para con el Señor tu Dios, porque toda acción abominable que el Señor odia, ellos la han hecho en honor de sus dioses; porque aun a sus hijos y a sus hijas queman en el fuego en honor a sus dioses.

`Thou dost not do so to Jehovah thy God; for every abomination of Jehovah which He is hating they have done to their gods, for even their sons and their daughters they burn with fire to their gods.

32 “ Cuidarás de hacer todo lo que te mando; nada le añadirás ni le quitarás.

The whole thing which I am commanding you -- it ye observe to do; thou dost not add unto it, nor diminish from it.
