1 E l hombre que después de mucha reprensión se pone terco, De repente será quebrantado sin remedio.

A man often reproved, hardening the neck, Is suddenly broken, and there is no healing.

2 C uando los justos aumentan, el pueblo se alegra; Pero cuando el impío gobierna, el pueblo gime.

In the multiplying of the righteous the people rejoice, And in the ruling of the wicked the people sigh.

3 E l que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre, Pero el que anda con rameras malgasta su fortuna.

A man loving wisdom rejoiceth his father, And a friend of harlots destroyeth wealth.

4 E l rey con la justicia afianza la tierra, Pero el hombre que acepta soborno la destruye.

A king by judgment establisheth a land, And one receiving gifts throweth it down.

5 E l hombre que adula a su prójimo Tiende una red ante sus pasos.

A man taking a portion above his neighbour, Spreadeth a net for his own steps.

6 E l hombre malo es atrapado en la transgresión, Pero el justo canta y se regocija.

In the transgression of the evil a snare, And the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

7 E l justo se preocupa por la causa de los pobres, Pero el impío no entiende tal preocupación.

The righteous knoweth the plea of the poor, The wicked understandeth not knowledge.

8 L os provocadores agitan la ciudad, Pero los sabios alejan la ira.

Men of scorning ensnare a city, And the wise turn back anger.

9 C uando un sabio tiene controversia con un necio, Este se enoja o se ríe, y no hay descanso.

A wise man is judged by the foolish man, And he hath been angry, And he hath laughed, and there is no rest.

10 L os hombres sanguinarios odian al intachable, Pero los rectos se preocupan por su alma.

Men of blood hate the perfect, And the upright seek his soul.

11 E l necio da rienda suelta a su ira, Pero el sabio la reprime.

A fool bringeth out all his mind, And the wise till afterwards restraineth it.

12 S i un gobernante presta atención a palabras mentirosas, Todos sus servidores se vuelven impíos.

A ruler who is attending to lying words, All his ministers wicked.

13 E l pobre y el opresor tienen esto en común: El Señor alumbra a los ojos de ambos.

The poor and the man of frauds have met together, Jehovah is enlightening the eyes of them both.

14 E l rey que juzga con verdad a los pobres Afianzará su trono para siempre.

a king that is judging truly the poor, His throne for ever is established.

15 L a vara y la reprensión dan sabiduría, Pero el niño consentido avergüenza a su madre.

A rod and reproof give wisdom, And a youth let away is shaming his mother.

16 C uando aumentan los impíos, aumenta la transgresión, Pero los justos verán su caída.

In the multiplying of the wicked transgression multiplieth, And the righteous on their fall do look.

17 D isciplina a tu hijo y te dará descanso, Y dará alegría a tu alma.

Chastise thy son, and he giveth thee comfort, Yea, he giveth delights to thy soul.

18 D onde no hay visión, el pueblo se desenfrena, Pero bienaventurado es el que guarda la ley.

Without a Vision is a people made naked, And whoso is keeping the law, O his happiness!

19 U n siervo no aprende sólo con palabras; Aunque entienda, no responderá.

By words a servant is not instructed though he understand, And there is nothing answering.

20 ¿ Ves a un hombre precipitado en sus palabras ? Más esperanza hay para el necio que para él.

Thou hast seen a man hasty in his words! More hope of a fool than of him.

21 E l que mima a su siervo desde la niñez, Al final lo tendrá por hijo.

Whoso is bringing up his servant delicately, from youth, his latter end also he is continuator.

22 E l hombre lleno de ira provoca rencillas, Y el hombre violento abunda en transgresiones.

An angry man stirreth up contention, And a furious man is multiplying transgression.

23 E l orgullo del hombre lo humillará, Pero el de espíritu humilde obtendrá honores.

The pride of man humbleth him, And humility of spirit upholdeth honour.

24 E l que se asocia con un ladrón aborrece su propia vida; Oye el juramento, pero no dice nada.

Whoso is sharing with a thief is hating his own soul, Execration he heareth, and telleth not.

25 E l temor al hombre es un lazo, Pero el que confía en el Señor estará seguro.

Fear of man causeth a snare, And the confident in Jehovah is set on high.

26 M uchos buscan el favor del gobernante, Pero del Señor viene la justicia para el hombre.

Many are seeking the face of a ruler, And from Jehovah the judgment of each.

27 A bominación para los justos es el malvado, Y abominación para el impío es el recto en su camino.

An abomination to the righteous the perverse man, And an abomination to the wicked the upright in the way!
