1 A sí dice el Señor: “El cielo es Mi trono y la tierra el estrado de Mis pies. ¿Dónde, pues, está la casa que podrían edificarme? ¿Dónde está el lugar de Mi reposo ?

Thus said Jehovah: The heavens My throne, And the earth My footstool, Where this -- the house that ye build for Me? And where this -- the place -- My rest?

2 T odo esto lo hizo Mi mano, Y así todas estas cosas llegaron a ser,” declara el Señor. “Pero a éste miraré: Al que es humilde y contrito de espíritu, y que tiembla ante Mi palabra.

And all these My hand hath made, And all these things are, An affirmation of Jehovah! And unto this one I look attentively, Unto the humble and bruised in spirit, And who is trembling at My word.

3 E l que mata un buey es como el que mata a un hombre, El que sacrifica un cordero como el que desnuca un perro, El que presenta ofrenda de cereal como el que ofrece sangre de cerdo, El que quema incienso como el que bendice a un ídolo. Como ellos han escogido sus propios caminos, Y su alma se deleita en sus abominaciones,

Whoso slaughtereth the ox smiteth a man, Whoso sacrificeth the lamb beheadeth a dog, Whoso is bringing up a present -- The blood of a sow, Whoso is making mention of frankincense, Is blessing iniquity. Yea, they have fixed on their own ways, And in their abominations their soul hath delighted.

4 T ambién Yo escogeré sus castigos, Y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen. Porque llamé, pero nadie respondió, Hablé, pero no escucharon. Más bien hicieron lo malo ante Mis ojos, Y escogieron lo que no Me complacía.”

I also -- I fix on their vexations, And their fears I bring in to them, Because I have called, and there is none answering, I spake, and they have not hearkened, And they do the evil things in Mine eyes, And on that which I desired not -- fixed.

5 O igan la palabra del Señor, ustedes que tiemblan ante Su palabra: “Sus hermanos que los aborrecen, que los excluyen por causa de Mi nombre, Han dicho: ‘Sea el Señor glorificado, para que veamos la alegría de ustedes.’ Pero ellos serán avergonzados.

Hear a word of Jehovah, Ye who are trembling unto His word, Said have your brethren who are hating you, Who are driving you out, for My name's sake: `Honoured is Jehovah, and we look on your joy,' But they are ashamed.

6 V oz de estruendo viene de la ciudad, una voz sale del templo: La voz del Señor que da el pago a Sus enemigos.

A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of Jehovah, giving recompence to His enemies.

7 A ntes que estuviera de parto, ella dio a luz; Antes que le vinieran los dolores, dio a luz un niño.

Before she is pained she hath brought forth, Before a pang cometh to her, She hath delivered a male.

8 ¿ Quién ha oído cosa semejante? ¿Quién ha visto tales cosas ? ¿Es dado a luz un país en un solo día? ¿Nace una nación toda de una vez? Pues Sion apenas estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.

Who hath heard anything like this? Who hath seen anything like these? Is earth caused to bring forth in one day? Born is a nation at once? For she hath been pained, Zion also hath borne her sons.

9 Y o que hago que se abra la matriz, ¿no haré nacer ?” dice el Señor. “Yo que hago nacer, ¿cerraré la matriz ?,” dice tu Dios.

`Do I bring to the birth, And not cause to bring forth?' saith Jehovah, `Am not I He who is causing to beget? I have also restrained,' said thy God.

10 A légrense con Jerusalén y regocíjense por ella, todos los que la aman; Rebosen de júbilo con ella, todos los que por ella hacen duelo,

Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, And be glad in her, all ye loving her, Rejoice ye with her for joy, All ye are mourning for her,

11 P ara que mamen y se sacien del pecho de sus consolaciones, Para que chupen y se deleiten de su seno abundante.

So that ye suck, and have been satisfied, From the breast of her consolations, So that ye wring out, and have delighted yourselves From the abundance of her honour.

12 P orque así dice el Señor: “Yo extiendo hacia ella paz como un río, Y la gloria de las naciones como torrente desbordado. Y ustedes mamarán, serán llevados sobre la cadera y acariciados sobre las rodillas.

For thus said Jehovah: `Lo, I am stretching out to her peace as a river, And as an overflowing stream the honour of nations, And ye have sucked, on the side ye are carried, And on the knees ye are dandled.

13 C omo a uno a quien consuela su madre, así los consolaré Yo; En Jerusalén serán consolados.”

As one whom his mother comforteth, so do I comfort you, Yea, in Jerusalem ye are comforted.

14 C uando lo vean, se llenará de gozo su corazón, Y sus huesos florecerán como hierba tierna. La mano del Señor se dará a conocer a Sus siervos, Y Su indignación a Sus enemigos.

And ye have seen, and rejoiced hath your heart, And your bones as tender grass do flourish, And the hand of Jehovah hath been known unto His servants, And He hath been indignant with His enemies.

15 P orque el Señor vendrá en fuego Y Sus carros como torbellino, Para descargar Su ira con furor Y Su reprensión con llamas de fuego.

For, lo, Jehovah in fire cometh, And as a hurricane His chariots, To refresh in fury His anger, And His rebuke in flames of fire.

16 P orque el Señor juzgará con fuego Y con Su espada a toda carne (todo ser humano), Y serán muchos los muertos por el Señor.

For by fire and by His sword, Doth Jehovah do judgment with all flesh. And many have been Jehovah's pierced ones.'

17 “ Los que se santifican y se purifican para ir a los huertos, Tras uno que está en el centro, Que comen carne de cerdo, cosas detestables y ratones, A una perecerán,” declara el Señor.

Those sanctifying and cleansing themselves at the gardens, After Ahad in the midst, Eating flesh of the sow, And of the abomination, and of the mouse, Together are consumed, An affirmation of Jehovah.

18 “ Pero Yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos. Llegará el tiempo de juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas, y vendrán y verán Mi gloria.

And I -- their works and their thoughts, I come to gather all the nations and tongues, And they have come and seen My honour.

19 Y pondré señal entre ellos y enviaré a sus sobrevivientes a las naciones: a Tarsis, a Fut, a Lud, a Mesec, a Ros, a Tubal y a Javán (Grecia), a las costas remotas que no han oído de Mi fama ni han visto Mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán Mi gloria entre las naciones.

And I have set among them a sign, And have sent out of them those escaping unto the nations, (Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawing bow, Tubal and Javan, the isles that are far off,) Who have not heard My fame, nor seen Mine honour, And they have declared Mine honour among nations.

20 E ntonces traerán a todos sus hermanos de todas las naciones como ofrenda al Señor, en caballos, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en camellos, a Mi santo monte, Jerusalén,” dice el Señor, “tal como los Israelitas traen su ofrenda de grano en vasijas limpias a la casa del Señor.

And they have brought all your brethren out of all the nations, A present to Jehovah, On horses, and on chariot, and on litters, And on mules, and on dromedaries, Unto My holy mountain Jerusalem, said Jehovah, As the sons of Israel bring the present in a clean vessel, Into the house of Jehovah.

21 Y también tomaré algunos de ellos para sacerdotes y para Levitas” dice el Señor.

And also of them I take for priests, For Levites, said Jehovah.

22 “ Porque como los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva Que Yo hago permanecerán delante de Mí,” declara el Señor, “así permanecerán su descendencia y su nombre.

For, as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making, Are standing before Me, An affirmation of Jehovah! So remain doth your seed and your name.

23 Y sucederá que de luna nueva en luna nueva Y de día de reposo en día de reposo, Todo mortal vendrá a postrarse delante de Mí,” dice el Señor.

And it hath been from month to month, And from sabbath to sabbath, Come do all flesh to bow themselves before Me, Said Jehovah.

24 “ Y cuando salgan, verán Los cadáveres de los hombres Que se rebelaron contra Mí; Porque su gusano no morirá, Ni su fuego se apagará, Y serán el horror de toda la humanidad.”

And they have gone forth, And looked on the carcases of the men Who are transgressing against me, For their worm dieth not, And their fire is not quenched, And they have been an abhorrence to all flesh!
