1 S e acercaba la Fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura, llamada la Pascua.

And the feast of the unleavened food was coming nigh, that is called Passover,

2 Y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas buscaban cómo dar muerte a Jesús, pero temían al pueblo.

and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they may take him up, for they were afraid of the people.

3 E ntonces Satanás entró en Judas, llamado Iscariote, que pertenecía al número de los doce apóstoles.

And the Adversary entered into Judas, who is surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve,

4 Y él fue y discutió con los principales sacerdotes y con los oficiales sobre cómo entregarles a Jesús.

and he, having gone away, spake with the chief priests and the magistrates, how he might deliver him up to them,

5 E llos se alegraron y convinieron en darle dinero.

and they rejoiced, and covenanted to give him money,

6 E l aceptó, y buscaba una oportunidad para entregar a Jesús sin hacer un escándalo. Preparación de la Pascua

and he agreed, and was seeking a favourable season to deliver him up to them without tumult.

7 L legó el día de la Fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura en que debía sacrificarse el cordero de la Pascua.

And the day of the unleavened food came, in which it was behoving the passover to be sacrificed,

8 E ntonces Jesús envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciéndoles: “Vayan y preparen la Pascua para nosotros, para que la comamos.”

and he sent Peter and John, saying, `Having gone on, prepare to us the passover, that we may eat;'

9 “ ¿Dónde deseas que la preparemos?” Le preguntaron.

and they said to him, `Where wilt thou that we might prepare?'

10 Y El les respondió: “Miren, al entrar en la ciudad, les saldrá al encuentro un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; síganlo a la casa donde entre.

And he said to them, `Lo, in your entering into the city, there shall meet you a man, bearing a pitcher of water, follow him to the house where he doth go in,

11 Y dirán al dueño de la casa: ‘El Maestro te dice: “¿Dónde está la habitación, en la cual pueda comer la Pascua con Mis discípulos?”’

and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where the passover with my disciples I may eat?

12 E ntonces él les mostrará un gran aposento alto, dispuesto; prepáren la allí.”

and he shall show you a large upper room furnished, there make ready;'

13 E llos fueron y encontraron todo tal como El les había dicho; y prepararon la Pascua. Institución de la Cena del Señor

and they, having gone away, found as he hath said to them, and they made ready the passover.

14 C uando llegó la hora, Jesús se sentó a la mesa, y con El los apóstoles,

And when the hour come, he reclined (at meat), and the twelve apostles with him,

15 y les dijo: “Intensamente he deseado comer esta Pascua con ustedes antes de padecer;

and he said unto them, `With desire I did desire to eat this passover with you before my suffering,

16 p orque les digo que nunca más volveré a comerla hasta que se cumpla en el reino de Dios.”

for I say to you, that no more may I eat of it till it may be fulfilled in the reign of God.'

17 Y tomando una copa, después de haber dado gracias, dijo: “Tomen esto y repártanlo entre ustedes;

And having taken a cup, having given thanks, he said, `Take this and divide to yourselves,

18 p orque les digo que de ahora en adelante no beberé del fruto de la vid, hasta que venga el reino de Dios.”

for I say to you that I may not drink of the produce of the vine till the reign of God may come.'

19 Y tomando el pan, después de haber dado gracias, lo partió, y les dio, diciendo: “Esto es Mi cuerpo que por ustedes es dado; hagan esto en memoria de Mí.”

And having taken bread, having given thanks, he brake and gave to them, saying, `This is my body, that for you is being given, this do ye -- to remembrance of me.'

20 D e la misma manera tomó la copa después de haber cenado, diciendo: “Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en Mi sangre, que es derramada por ustedes.

In like manner, also, the cup after the supping, saying, `This cup the new covenant in my blood, that for you is being poured forth.

21 P ero, vean, la mano del que Me entrega está junto a Mí en la mesa.

`But, lo, the hand of him delivering me up with me on the table,

22 P orque en verdad, el Hijo del Hombre va según se ha determinado; pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien El es entregado!”

and indeed the Son of Man doth go according to what hath been determined; but wo to that man through whom he is being delivered up.'

23 E ntonces ellos comenzaron a discutir entre sí quién de ellos sería el que iba a hacer esto. Los Discípulos Discuten sobre Quién es el Mayor

And they began to reason among themselves, who then of them it may be, who is about to do this thing.

24 S urgió también entre ellos una discusión, sobre cuál de ellos debía ser considerado como el mayor.

And there happened also a strife among them -- who of them is accounted to be greater.

25 Y Jesús les dijo: “Los reyes de los Gentiles se enseñorean de ellos; y los que tienen autoridad sobre ellos son llamados bienhechores.

And he said to them, `The kings of the nations do exercise lordship over them, and those exercising authority upon them are called benefactors;

26 P ero no es así con ustedes; antes, el mayor entre ustedes hágase como el menor, y el que dirige como el que sirve.

but ye not so, but he who is greater among you -- let him be as the younger; and he who is leading, as he who is ministering;

27 P orque, ¿cuál es mayor, el que se sienta a la mesa, o el que sirve ? ¿No lo es el que se sienta a la mesa ? Sin embargo, entre ustedes Yo soy como el que sirve.

for who is greater? he who is reclining (at meat), or he who is ministering? is it not he who is reclining (at meat)? and I -- I am in your midst as he who is ministering.

28 “ Ustedes son los que han permanecido junto a Mí en Mis pruebas;

`And ye -- ye are those who have remained with me in my temptations,

29 y así como Mi Padre Me ha otorgado un reino, Yo les otorgo

and I appoint to you, as my Father did appoint to me, a kingdom,

30 q ue coman y beban a Mi mesa en Mi reino; y se sentarán en tronos juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel. Jesús Predice la Negación de Pedro

that ye may eat and may drink at my table, in my kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.'

31 “ Simón, Simón (Pedro), mira que Satanás los ha reclamado a ustedes para zarandearlos como a trigo;

And the Lord said, `Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,

32 p ero Yo he rogado por ti para que tu fe no falle; y tú, una vez que hayas regresado, fortalece a tus hermanos.”

and I besought for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and thou, when thou didst turn, strengthen thy brethren.'

33 Y Pedro Le dijo: “Señor, estoy dispuesto a ir adonde vayas, tanto a la cárcel como a la muerte.”

And he said to him, `Sir, with thee I am ready both to prison and to death to go;'

34 P ero Jesús le dijo: “Te digo, Pedro, que el gallo no cantará hoy hasta que tú hayas negado tres veces que Me conoces.” Bolsa, Alforja y Espada

and he said, `I say to thee, Peter, a cock shall not crow to-day, before thrice thou mayest disown knowing me.'

35 Y El les dijo a todos: “Cuando los envié sin bolsa, ni alforja, ni sandalias, ¿acaso les faltó algo?” “ No, nada,” contestaron ellos.

And he said to them, `When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and sandals, did ye lack anything?' and they said, `Nothing.'

36 E ntonces les dijo: “Pero ahora, el que tenga una bolsa, que la lleve consigo, de la misma manera también una alforja, y el que no tenga espada, venda su manto y compre una.

Then said he to them, `But, now, he who is having a bag, let him take up, and in like manner also a scrip; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,

37 P orque les digo que es necesario que en Mí se cumpla esto que está escrito: ‘Y con los transgresores fue contado;’ pues ciertamente, lo que se refiere a Mí, tiene su cumplimiento.”

for I say to you, that yet this that hath been written it behoveth to be fulfilled in me: And with lawless ones he was reckoned, for also the things concerning me have an end.'

38 Y ellos dijeron: “Señor, aquí hay dos espadas.” “Es suficiente,” les respondió. Jesús en Getsemaní

And they said, `Sir, lo, here two swords;' and he said to them, `It is sufficient.'

39 S aliendo Jesús, se encaminó, como de costumbre, hacia el Monte de los Olivos; y los discípulos también Lo siguieron.

And having gone forth, he went on, according to custom, to the mount of the Olives, and his disciples also followed him,

40 C uando llegó al lugar, les dijo: “Oren para que no entren en tentación.”

and having come to the place, he said to them, `Pray ye not to enter into temptation.'

41 Y se apartó de ellos como a un tiro de piedra, y poniéndose de rodillas, oraba,

And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone's cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying,

42 d iciendo: “Padre, si es Tu voluntad, aparta de Mí esta copa; pero no se haga Mi voluntad, sino la Tuya.”

saying, `Father, if Thou be counselling to make this cup pass from me --; but, not my will, but Thine be done.' --

43 E ntonces se apareció un ángel del cielo, que Lo fortalecía.

And there appeared to him a messenger from heaven strengthening him;

44 Y estando en agonía, oraba con mucho fervor; y Su sudor se volvió como gruesas gotas de sangre, que caían sobre la tierra.

and having been in agony, he was more earnestly praying, and his sweat became, as it were, great drops of blood falling upon the ground.

45 C uando se levantó de orar, fue a los discípulos y los halló dormidos a causa de la tristeza,

And having risen up from the prayer, having come unto the disciples, he found them sleeping from the sorrow,

46 y les dijo: “¿Por qué duermen? Levántense y oren para que no entren en tentación.” Arresto de Jesús

and he said to them, `Why do ye sleep? having risen, pray that ye may not enter into temptation.'

47 M ientras todavía estaba El hablando, llegó una multitud, y el que se llamaba Judas, uno de los doce apóstoles, iba delante de ellos, y se acercó para besar a Jesús.

And while he is speaking, lo, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, was coming before them, and he came nigh to Jesus to kiss him,

48 P ero Jesús le dijo: “Judas, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del Hombre?”

and Jesus said to him, `Judas, with a kiss the Son of Man dost thou deliver up?'

49 C uando los que rodeaban a Jesús vieron lo que iba a suceder, dijeron: “Señor, ¿heriremos a espada ?”

And those about him, having seen what was about to be, said to him, `Sir, shall we smite with a sword?'

50 Y uno de ellos hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja derecha.

And a certain one of them smote the servant of the chief priest, and took off his right ear,

51 P ero Jesús dijo: “¡Deténganse! Basta de esto.” Y tocando la oreja al siervo, lo sanó.

and Jesus answering said, `Suffer ye thus far,' and having touched his ear, he healed him.

52 E ntonces Jesús dijo a los principales sacerdotes, a los oficiales del templo y a los ancianos que habían venido contra El: “¿Como contra un ladrón han salido con espadas y palos ?

And Jesus said to those having come upon him -- chief priests, and magistrates of the temple, and elders -- `As upon a robber have ye come forth, with swords and sticks?

53 C uando estaba con ustedes cada día en el templo, no Me echaron mano; pero esta hora y el poder de las tinieblas son de ustedes.” La Negación de Pedro

while daily I was with you in the temple, ye did stretch forth no hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of the darkness.'

54 D espués de arrestar a Jesús, se Lo llevaron y Lo condujeron a la casa del sumo sacerdote; y Pedro los seguía de lejos.

And having taken him, they led and brought him to the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following afar off,

55 D espués que encendieron una hoguera en medio del patio, y de sentarse juntos, Pedro se sentó entre ellos.

and they having kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting in the midst of them,

56 U na sirvienta, al verlo sentado junto a la lumbre, fijándose en él detenidamente, dijo: “También éste estaba con El.”

and a certain maid having seen him sitting at the light, and having earnestly looked at him, she said, `And this one was with him!'

57 P ero él lo negó, diciendo: “Mujer, yo no Lo conozco.”

and he disowned him, saying, `Woman, I have not known him.'

58 U n poco después, otro al verlo, dijo: “¡Tú también eres uno de ellos!” “¡Hombre, no es cierto!” le dijo Pedro.

And after a little, another having seen him, said, `And thou art of them!' and Peter said, `Man, I am not.'

59 P asada como una hora, otro insistía, diciendo: “Ciertamente éste también estaba con El, pues él también es Galileo.”

And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, `Of a truth this one also was with him, for he is also a Galilean;'

60 P ero Pedro dijo: “Hombre, yo no sé de qué hablas.” Al instante, estando él todavía hablando, cantó un gallo.

and Peter said, `Man, I have not known what thou sayest;' and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew.

61 E l Señor se volvió y miró a Pedro. Entonces Pedro recordó la palabra del Señor, de cómo le había dicho: “Antes que el gallo cante hoy, Me negarás tres veces.”

And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him -- `Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;'

62 Y saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente. Jesús Escarnecido

and Peter having gone without, wept bitterly.

63 L os hombres que tenían a Jesús bajo custodia, se burlaban de El y Lo golpeaban;

And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking him, beating;

64 L e vendaron los ojos, y Le preguntaban: “Adivina, ¿quién es el que Te ha golpeado ?”

and having blindfolded him, they were striking him on the face, and were questioning him, saying, `Prophesy who he is who smote thee?'

65 T ambién decían muchas otras cosas contra El, blasfemando. Jesús Ante el Concilio (Sanedrín)

and many other things, speaking evilly, they spake in regard to him.

66 C uando se hizo de día, se reunió el Concilio (Sanedrín) de los ancianos del pueblo, tanto los principales sacerdotes como los escribas, y llevaron a Jesús ante su Concilio, diciendo:

And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led him up to their own sanhedrim,

67 “ Si Tú eres el Cristo (el Mesías), dínoslo.” Pero El les dijo: “Si se lo digo, no creerán;

saying, `If thou be the Christ, tell us.' And he said to them, `If I may tell you, ye will not believe;

68 y si les pregunto, no responderán.

and if I also question, ye will not answer me or send me away;

69 P ero de ahora en adelante, el Hijo del Hombre estara sentado a la diestra del poder de Dios.”

henceforth, there shall be the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power of God.'

70 D ijeron todos: “Entonces, ¿Tú eres el Hijo de Dios ?” “Ustedes dicen que Yo soy,” les respondió Jesús.

And they all said, `Thou, then, art the Son of God?' and he said unto them, `Ye say, because I am;'

71 Y ellos dijeron: “¿Qué necesidad tenemos ya de testimonio? Pues nosotros mismos lo hemos oído de Su propia boca.”

and they said, `What need yet have we of testimony? for we ourselves did hear from his mouth.'
