1 E speré pacientemente al Señor, Y El se inclinó a mí y oyó mi clamor.

To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. I have diligently expected Jehovah, And He inclineth to me, and heareth my cry,

2 M e sacó del hoyo de la destrucción, del lodo cenagoso; Asentó mis pies sobre una roca y afirmó mis pasos.

And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.

3 P uso en mi boca un cántico nuevo, un canto de alabanza a nuestro Dios. Muchos verán esto, y temerán Y confiarán en el Señor.

And He putteth in my mouth a new song, `Praise to our God.' Many do see and fear, and trust in Jehovah.

4 C uán bienaventurado es el hombre que ha puesto en el Señor su confianza, Y no se ha vuelto a los soberbios ni a los que caen en falsedad.

O the happiness of the man Who hath made Jehovah his trust, And hath not turned unto the proud, And those turning aside to lies.

5 M uchas son, Señor, Dios mío, las maravillas que Tú has hecho, Y muchos Tus designios para con nosotros; Nadie hay que se compare contigo; Si los anunciara, y hablara de ellos, No podrían ser enumerados.

Much hast Thou done, Jehovah my God; Thy wonders and Thy thoughts toward us, There is none to arrange unto Thee, I declare and speak: They have been more than to be numbered.

6 S acrificio y ofrenda de cereal no has deseado; Me has abierto los oídos; Holocausto y ofrenda por el pecado no has pedido.

Sacrifice and present Thou hast not desired, Ears Thou hast prepared for me, Burnt and sin-offering Thou hast not asked.

7 E ntonces dije: “Aquí estoy; En el rollo del libro está escrito de mí;

Then said I, `Lo, I have come,' In the roll of the book it is written of me,

8 M e deleito en hacer Tu voluntad, Dios mío; Tu ley está dentro de mi corazón.”

To do Thy pleasure, my God, I have delighted, And Thy law within my heart.

9 H e proclamado buenas nuevas de justicia en la gran congregación; No refrenaré mis labios, Oh Señor, Tú lo sabes.

I have proclaimed tidings of righteousness In the great assembly, lo, my lips I restrain not, O Jehovah, Thou hast known.

10 N o he escondido Tu justicia dentro de mi corazón; He proclamado Tu fidelidad y Tu salvación; No he ocultado a la gran congregación Tu misericordia y Tu fidelidad.

Thy righteousness I have not concealed In the midst of my heart, Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation I have told, I have not hidden Thy kindness and Thy truth, To the great assembly.

11 T ú, oh Señor, no retengas Tu compasión de mí; Tu misericordia y Tu fidelidad me guarden continuamente,

Thou, O Jehovah, restrainest not Thy mercies from me, Thy kindness and Thy truth do continually keep me.

12 P orque me rodean males sin número; Mis iniquidades me han alcanzado, y no puedo ver; Son más numerosas que los cabellos de mi cabeza, Y el corazón me falla.

For compassed me have evils innumerable, Overtaken me have mine iniquities, And I have not been able to see; They have been more than the hairs of my head, And my heart hath forsaken me.

13 T en a bien, oh Señor, libertarme; Apresúrate, Señor, a socorrerme.

Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help make haste.

14 S ean avergonzados y humillados a una Los que buscan mi vida para destruirla; Sean vueltos atrás y cubiertos de ignominia Los que se complacen en mi mal.

They are ashamed and confounded together, Who are seeking my soul to destroy it, They are turned backward, And are ashamed, who are desiring my evil.

15 Q ueden atónitos a causa de su vergüenza Los que me dicen: “¡Ajá, ajá!”

They are desolate because of their shame, Who are saying to me, `Aha, aha.'

16 R egocíjense y alégrense en Ti todos los que Te buscan; Que los que aman Tu salvación digan continuamente: “¡Engrandecido sea el Señor!”

All seeking Thee rejoice and are glad in Thee, Those loving Thy salvation say continually, `Jehovah is magnified.'

17 P or cuanto yo estoy afligido y necesitado, El Señor me tiene en cuenta. Tú eres mi ayuda y mi libertador; Dios mío, no Te tardes.

And I poor and needy, The Lord doth devise for me. My help and my deliverer Thou, O my God, tarry Thou not.
