1 Y vino la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos:

And there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts, saying:

2 “ Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘He celado a Sion con gran celo, sí, con gran furor la he celado.’

`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Zion with great zeal, With great heat I have been zealous for her.

3 A sí dice el Señor: ‘Volveré a Sion y en medio de Jerusalén moraré. Y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de la Verdad (Fidelidad), y el monte del Señor de los ejércitos, Monte Santo.’

Thus said Jehovah: I have turned back unto Zion, And I have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And Jerusalem hath been called `The city of truth,' And the mountain of Jehovah of Hosts, `The holy mountain.'

4 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Aún se sentarán ancianos y ancianas en las calles de Jerusalén, cada uno con su bastón en la mano por causa de sus muchos días.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again dwell do old men and old women, In broad places of Jerusalem, And each his staff in his hand, Because of abundance of days.

5 ‘ Y las calles de la ciudad se llenarán de muchachos y muchachas que jugarán en sus calles.’

And broad places of the city are full of boys and girls, Playing in its broad places.

6 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Si en aquellos días esto parece muy difícil a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo, ¿será también muy difícil a Mis ojos?’ declara el Señor de los ejércitos.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Surely it is wonderful in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, Also in Mine eyes it is wonderful, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

7 “ Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Yo salvaré a Mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am saving My people from the land of the rising, And from the land of the going in, of the sun,

8 y los traeré y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y ellos serán Mi pueblo y Yo seré su Dios en verdad (fidelidad) y en justicia.’

And I have brought them in, They have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God, In truth and in righteousness.

9 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Sean fuertes sus manos, ustedes que escuchan en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, los cuales hablaron el día en que se pusieron los cimientos de la casa del Señor de los ejércitos para la reedificación del templo.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Let your hands be strong, Ye who are hearing in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets, That in the day the house of Jehovah of Hosts Hath been founded, the temple to be built.

10 P orque antes de aquellos días no había paga para hombre ni paga para el ganado; y no había paz para el que salía o entraba a causa del enemigo, y Yo puse a todos los hombres unos contra otros.

For, before those days there hath been no hiring of man, Yea, a hiring of beasts there is none; And to him who is going out, And to him who is coming in, There is no peace because of the adversary, And I send all men -- each against his neighbour.

11 P ero ahora Yo no trataré al remanente de este pueblo como en los días pasados,’ declara el Señor de los ejércitos.

And now, not as the former days I to the remnant of this people, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

12 P orque habrá simiente de paz: la vid dará su fruto, la tierra dará su producto y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo herede todas estas cosas.

Because of the sowing of peace, The vine doth give her fruit, And the earth doth give her increase, And the heavens do give their dew, And I have caused the remnant of this people To inherit all these.

13 Y sucederá que como fueron maldición entre las naciones, casa de Judá y casa de Israel, así los salvaré para que sean bendición. No teman, mas sean fuertes sus manos.’

And it hath come to pass, As ye have been a reviling among nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, So I save you, and ye have been a blessing, Do not fear, let your hands be strong.

14 “ Porque así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Tal como me propuse hacerles mal cuando sus padres Me hicieron enojar,’ dice el Señor de los ejércitos, ‘y no me he arrepentido,

For, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, As I did purpose to do evil to you, When your fathers made Me wroth, Said Jehovah of Hosts, and I did not repent,

15 a sí me he propuesto en estos días volver a hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá. ¡No teman!

So I have turned back, I have purposed, in these days, To do good with Jerusalem, And with the house of Judah -- fear not!

16 ‘ Estas son las cosas que deben hacer: díganse la verdad unos a otros, juzguen con verdad y con juicio de paz en sus puertas (tribunales),

These the things that ye do: Speak ye truth each with his neighbour, Truth and peaceful judgment judge in your gates,

17 n o tramen en su corazón el mal uno contra otro, ni amen el juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que odio,’ declara el Señor.”

And each the evil of his neighbour ye do not devise in your heart, And a false oath ye do not love, For all these things that I have hated, An affirmation of Jehovah.'

18 E ntonces la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos vino a mí:

And there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts unto me, saying:

19 “ Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘El ayuno del cuarto mes, el ayuno del quinto, el ayuno del séptimo y el ayuno del décimo mes se convertirán para la casa de Judá en gozo, alegría y fiestas alegres. Así que amen la verdad y la paz.’

`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, are to the house of Judah for joy and for rejoicing, and for pleasant appointed seasons, and the truth and the peace they have loved.

20 “ Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘Y será que aún vendrán pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades;

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Yet come do peoples, and inhabitants of many cities,

21 y los habitantes de una irán a otra, diciendo: “Vamos sin demora a implorar el favor del Señor, y a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos. Yo también iré.”

Yea, gone have inhabitants of one To another, saying: We go diligently, To appease the face of Jehovah, To seek Jehovah of Hosts -- I go, even I.

22 ‘ Y vendrán muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos en Jerusalén y a implorar el favor del Señor.’

Yea, come in have many peoples, and mighty nations, To seek Jehovah of Hosts in Jerusalem, And to appease the face of Jehovah.

23 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘En aquellos días diez hombres de todas las lenguas de las naciones tomarán el vestido de un Judío, diciendo: “Iremos con ustedes, porque hemos oído que Dios está con ustedes.”’”

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: In those days take hold do ten men of all languages of the nations, Yea, they have taken hold on the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying: We go with you, for we heard God with you!
