1 L a palabra del Señor de los ejércitos vino a mí, y me dijo:

And there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts, saying:

2 « Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Es tan grande mi amor por Sión, que me lleno de celos y de ira.

`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: I have been zealous for Zion with great zeal, With great heat I have been zealous for her.

3 » Así ha dicho el Señor: Yo he restaurado a Sión, y viviré en medio de Jerusalén. Y Jerusalén será llamada “Ciudad de la Verdad”, y el monte del Señor de los ejércitos será llamado “Monte Santo”.

Thus said Jehovah: I have turned back unto Zion, And I have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And Jerusalem hath been called `The city of truth,' And the mountain of Jehovah of Hosts, `The holy mountain.'

4 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Las calles de Jerusalén han de verse todavía habitadas por ancianos y ancianas, de edad tan avanzada que cada uno llevará su bastón en la mano.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again dwell do old men and old women, In broad places of Jerusalem, And each his staff in his hand, Because of abundance of days.

5 Y todavía volverán a llenarse sus calles con niños y niñas que jugarán en ellas.

And broad places of the city are full of boys and girls, Playing in its broad places.

6 » Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: Cuando llegue el día, esto podrá parecerles sorprendente a los sobrevivientes de este pueblo, pero ¿habrá de parecerme sorprendente también a mí? —Palabra del Señor de los ejércitos.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Surely it is wonderful in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, Also in Mine eyes it is wonderful, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

7 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: ¡Miren! Yo salvaré a mi pueblo del país de oriente, y del país de occidente.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am saving My people from the land of the rising, And from the land of the going in, of the sun,

8 Y o los traeré, y los haré habitar en el corazón mismo de Jerusalén, y ellos serán mi pueblo, y yo seré su Dios en verdad y en justicia.

And I have brought them in, They have dwelt in the midst of Jerusalem, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God, In truth and in righteousness.

9 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Ustedes, los que ahora y desde que se echaron los cimientos del templo del Señor de los ejércitos para edificar el templo, escuchan estas palabras de labios de los profetas, ¡ármense de valor!

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Let your hands be strong, Ye who are hearing in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets, That in the day the house of Jehovah of Hosts Hath been founded, the temple to be built.

10 P orque antes de ahora, por culpa del enemigo ni los trabajadores recibían su salario ni los animales recibían su alimento, ni había paz tampoco para los que salían de viaje o volvían, pues yo puse a todos en contra de todos.

For, before those days there hath been no hiring of man, Yea, a hiring of beasts there is none; And to him who is going out, And to him who is coming in, There is no peace because of the adversary, And I send all men -- each against his neighbour.

11 P ero a los sobrevivientes de este pueblo no los trataré como antes lo hice. —Palabra del Señor de los ejércitos.

And now, not as the former days I to the remnant of this people, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

12 » Más bien, habrá paz cuando se siembre, y las vides darán su fruto, y la tierra rendirá sus cosechas, y los cielos prodigarán su rocío. Yo haré que los sobrevivientes de este pueblo tomen posesión de todo esto.

Because of the sowing of peace, The vine doth give her fruit, And the earth doth give her increase, And the heavens do give their dew, And I have caused the remnant of this people To inherit all these.

13 A sí que ustedes, los de la casa de Judá y de la casa de Israel, no deben tener miedo de nada, sino armarse de valor, porque así como han sido motivo de maldición entre las naciones, así también los salvaré, para que sean motivo de bendición.

And it hath come to pass, As ye have been a reviling among nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, So I save you, and ye have been a blessing, Do not fear, let your hands be strong.

14 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Así como pensé en hacerles daño cuando sus padres me hicieron enojar, y no me arrepentí, yo, el Señor de los ejércitos, les digo

For, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, As I did purpose to do evil to you, When your fathers made Me wroth, Said Jehovah of Hosts, and I did not repent,

15 q ue, por el contrario, ahora he decidido tratar con bondad a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá. Así que no tengan miedo.

So I have turned back, I have purposed, in these days, To do good with Jerusalem, And with the house of Judah -- fear not!

16 L o que sí deben hacer es hablar siempre a su prójimo con la verdad, y juzgar en sus tribunales siempre con apego a la verdad y a lo conducente a la paz.

These the things that ye do: Speak ye truth each with his neighbour, Truth and peaceful judgment judge in your gates,

17 N adie debe pensar en hacerle daño a su prójimo, ni deleitarse en hacer juramentos falsos, porque nada de esto lo soporto.» —Palabra del Señor.

And each the evil of his neighbour ye do not devise in your heart, And a false oath ye do not love, For all these things that I have hated, An affirmation of Jehovah.'

18 L a palabra del Señor de los ejércitos vino a mí, y me dijo:

And there is a word of Jehovah of Hosts unto me, saying:

19 « Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Los ayunos del cuarto mes, y de los meses quinto, séptimo y décimo, serán para la casa de Judá motivo de gozo y alegría, y de gran celebración. Así que amen la verdad y la paz.

`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, are to the house of Judah for joy and for rejoicing, and for pleasant appointed seasons, and the truth and the peace they have loved.

20 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Van a venir pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades,

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Yet come do peoples, and inhabitants of many cities,

21 l os cuales irán de ciudad en ciudad, diciendo: “Vayamos a implorar el favor del Señor. Vayamos a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos. Yo también iré.”

Yea, gone have inhabitants of one To another, saying: We go diligently, To appease the face of Jehovah, To seek Jehovah of Hosts -- I go, even I.

22 Y muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas vendrán a Jerusalén, para buscarme e implorar mi favor. Lo digo yo, el Señor de los ejércitos.

Yea, come in have many peoples, and mighty nations, To seek Jehovah of Hosts in Jerusalem, And to appease the face of Jehovah.

23 » Así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Cuando lleguen esos días, diez hombres de diferentes naciones y lenguas se aferrarán al manto de un judío y le dirán: “¡Permítannos acompañarlos, pues sabemos que Dios está con ustedes!”»

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: In those days take hold do ten men of all languages of the nations, Yea, they have taken hold on the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying: We go with you, for we heard God with you!
