1 V isión que Isaías hijo de Amoz tuvo acerca de Judá y de Jerusalén en los días de los reyes Uzías, Yotán, Ajaz y Ezequías, los cuales reinaron en Judá.

The Visions of Isaiah son of Amoz, that he hath seen concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2 A sí dice el Señor: «Ustedes, los cielos, ¡oigan! Y tú, tierra, ¡escucha! He criado hijos, los he visto crecer, pero ellos han pecado contra mí.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, For Jehovah hath spoken: Sons I have nourished and brought up, And they -- they transgressed against Me.

3 E l buey conoce a su dueño, y el asno conoce el pesebre de su amo, pero Israel no entiende; ¡mi pueblo no tiene entendimiento!»

An ox hath known its owner, And an ass the crib of its master, Israel hath not known, My people hath not understood.

4 ¡ Ay, gente pecadora, pueblo bajo el peso de la maldad! ¡Ay, simiente de malvados, hijos corrompidos que han abandonado al Señor! Han provocado la ira del Santo de Israel; ¡le han dado la espalda!

Ah, sinning nation, a people heavy iniquity, A seed of evil doers, sons -- corrupters! They have forsaken Jehovah, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have gone away backward.

5 ¿ Por qué quieren ustedes ser castigados todavía? ¿Van a seguir siendo rebeldes? Tienen toda la cabeza enferma, y todo el corazón adolorido.

Wherefore are ye stricken any more? Ye do add apostacy! Every head is become diseased, and every heart sick.

6 D e la punta del pie hasta la cabeza no tienen nada sano. Todo son heridas, hinchazones y llagas abiertas, que nadie ha curado ni vendado ni limpiado con ungüento.

From the sole of the foot -- unto the head, There is no soundness in it, Wound, and bruise, and fresh smiting! They have not been closed nor bound, Nor have they softened with ointment.

7 A nte ustedes su tierra es asolada, e incendiadas sus ciudades. Su país es devorado por gente extraña, ¡asolado como si lo asolaran extraños!

Your land a desolation, your cities burnt with fire, Your ground, before you strangers are consuming it, And a desolation as overthrown by strangers!

8 L a hija de Sión se ha quedado solitaria. ¡Parece la enramada de una viña, la cabaña de un melonar! ¡Parece una ciudad desolada!

And left hath been the daughter of Zion, As a booth in a vineyard, As a lodge in a place of cucumbers -- as a city besieged.

9 S i el Señor de los ejércitos no nos hubiera dejado un remanente, un poco más y seríamos como Sodoma, ¡semejantes a Gomorra! Invitación al arrepentimiento

Unless Jehovah of Hosts had left to us a remnant, Shortly -- as Sodom we had been, To Gomorrah we had been like!

10 P ríncipes de Sodoma, ¡oigan la palabra del Señor! Pueblo de Gomorra, ¡escuchen la enseñanza de nuestro Dios!

Hear the word of Jehovah, ye rulers of Sodom, Give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah,

11 E l Señor dice: «¿Para qué me sirven sus muchos sacrificios? Estoy harto de holocaustos de carneros y de la grasa de animales gordos; no me agrada la sangre de bueyes, ni de ovejas y machos cabríos.

`Why to Me the abundance of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah, I have been satiated burnt-offerings of rams, And fat of fatlings; And blood of bullocks, and lambs, And he-goats I have not desired.

12 » Cuando ustedes vienen a presentarse ante mí, ¿quién les pide que traigan esto, o que pisoteen mis atrios?

When ye come in to appear before Me, Who hath required this of your hand, To trample My courts?

13 N o me traigan más ofrendas inútiles. El incienso me repugna; no soporto la luna nueva ni el día de reposo, ni las reuniones que convocan; sus fiestas solemnes son inicuas.

Add not to bring in a vain present, Incense -- an abomination it to Me, New moon, and sabbath, calling of convocation! Rendure not iniquity -- and a restraint!

14 M i alma aborrece sus lunas nuevas y sus fiestas solemnes; ¡son para mí una carga insoportable!

Your new moons and your set seasons hath My soul hated, They have been upon me for a burden, I have been weary of bearing.

15 C uando ustedes tiendan las manos hacia mí, yo apartaré de ustedes mis ojos. Y cuando multipliquen sus oraciones, no las oiré, pues tienen ustedes las manos llenas de sangre.

And in your spreading forth your hands, I hide mine eyes from you, Also when ye increase prayer, I do not hear, Your hands of blood have been full.

16 ¡ Lávense! ¡Límpiense! ¡Aparten de mi vista sus malas acciones! ¡Dejen de hacer lo malo

Wash ye, make ye pure, Turn aside the evil of your doings, from before Mine eyes, Cease to do evil, learn to do good.

17 y aprendan a hacer lo bueno! ¡Busquen la justicia! ¡Reprendan a los opresores! ¡Hagan justicia a los huérfanos y defiendan los derechos de las viudas!»

Seek judgment, make happy the oppressed, Judge the fatherless, strive the widow.

18 E l Señor dice: «Vengan ahora, y pongamos las cosas en claro. Si sus pecados son como la grana, se pondrán blancos como la nieve. Si son rojos como el carmesí, se pondrán blancos como la lana.

Come, I pray you, and we reason, saith Jehovah, If your sins are as scarlet, as snow they shall be white, If they are red as crimson, as wool they shall be!

19 S i ustedes quieren y me hacen caso, comerán de lo mejor de la tierra;

If ye are willing, and have hearkened, The good of the land ye consume,

20 p ero si no quieren y son rebeldes, serán consumidos por la espada.» Sí, la boca del Señor lo ha dicho. Juicio y redención de Jerusalén

And if ye refuse, and have rebelled, the sword ye are consumed, For the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.

21 ¡ Ay, ciudad fiel! ¡Cómo te has prostituido! Antes residía en ti la justicia y el derecho, y ahora el asesinato.

How hath a faithful city become a harlot? I have filled it judgment, Righteousness lodgeth in it -- now murderers.

22 T u plata se convirtió en escoria; tu vino se mezcló con agua.

Thy silver hath become dross, Thy drink polluted with water.

23 T us príncipes son rebeldes y cómplices de ladrones; todos ellos aman el soborno y van tras las recompensas; no les hacen justicia a los huérfanos, ni les importa defender los derechos de las viudas.

Thy princes apostates, and companions of thieves, Every one loving a bribe, and pursuing rewards, The fatherless they judge not, And the plea of the widow cometh not to them.

24 P or lo tanto, así dice Dios, el Señor de los ejércitos, el Fuerte de Israel: «Voy a vengarme de mis enemigos; voy a desquitarme de mis adversarios.

Therefore -- the affirmation of the Lord -- Jehovah of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah, I am eased of Mine adversaries, And I am avenged of Mine enemies,

25 L uego volveré mi mano contra ti, y limpiaré tu escoria hasta dejarla pura, y te quitaré toda tu impureza.

And I turn back My hand upon thee, And I refine as purity thy dross, And I turn aside all thy tin,

26 H aré que tus jueces sean como eran al principio, y que tus consejeros sean como eran antes. Después de eso te llamarán “Ciudad de justicia”, “Ciudad fiel”.

And I give back thy judges as at the first, And thy counsellors as in the beginning, After this thou art called, `A city of righteousness -- a faithful city.'

27 » Sión será rescatada por medio de la justicia, y los que se vuelvan a mí, por medio del derecho.

Zion in judgment is redeemed, And her captivity in righteousness.

28 P ero los rebeldes y pecadores serán aniquilados al mismo tiempo, y los que abandonan al Señor serán consumidos.

And the destruction of transgressors and sinners together, And those forsaking Jehovah are consumed.

29 E ntonces ustedes se avergonzarán de las encinas que tanto amaban, y lamentarán haber elegido esos huertos.

For are ashamed because of the oaks That ye have desired, And ye are confounded because of the gardens That ye have chosen.

30 S erán ustedes como encinas que se quedan sin hojas, ¡como huertos carentes de agua!

For ye are as an oak whose leaf is fading, And as a garden that hath no water.

31 L os fuertes será como estopa, y sus hechos serán la chispa que prenda fuego a unos y otros; y arderán, y no habrá quien apague el fuego.»

And the strong hath been for tow, And his work for a spark, And burned have both of them together, And there is none quenching!
