1 J osé ya no podía contenerse delante de todos los que estaban a su lado, así que exclamó: «¡Que salgan todos de mi presencia!» Así que nadie estaba con él cuando se dio a conocer a sus hermanos.

And Joseph hath not been able to refrain himself before all those standing by him, and he calleth, `Put out every man from me;' and no man hath stood with him when Joseph maketh himself known unto his brethren,

2 Y dio rienda suelta a su llanto. Y lo supieron los egipcios, y también se supo en la casa del faraón.

and he giveth forth his voice in weeping, and the Egyptians hear, and the house of Pharaoh heareth.

3 Y les dijo José a sus hermanos: «¡Yo soy José! ¿Vive todavía mi padre?» Pero sus hermanos no pudieron responderle, porque estaban confundidos en su presencia.

And Joseph saith unto his brethren, `I Joseph, is my father yet alive?' and his brethren have not been able to answer him, for they have been troubled at his presence.

4 E ntonces José les dijo: «Acérquense a mí.» Ellos se acercaron, y él les dijo: «Yo soy José, su hermano, el que ustedes vendieron a Egipto.

And Joseph saith unto his brethren, `Come nigh unto me, I pray you,' and they come nigh; and he saith, `I Joseph, your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt;

5 P ero no se pongan tristes, ni lamenten el haberme vendido, porque Dios me envío aquí, delante de ustedes, para preservarles la vida.

and now, be not grieved, nor let it be displeasing in your eyes that ye sold me hither, for to preserve life hath God sent me before you.

6 Y a ha habido dos años de hambre en todo el país, y aún faltan cinco más, en los que no habrá quien are la tierra ni quien coseche nada.

`Because these two years the famine in the heart of the land, and yet five years, which there is neither ploughing nor harvest;

7 P ero Dios me envió delante de ustedes, para preservar su descendencia en la tierra y para darles vida mediante una gran liberación.

and God sendeth me before you, to place of you a remnant in the land, and to give life to you by a great escape;

8 A sí que no son ustedes quienes me mandaron acá, sino Dios, que me ha puesto como padre del faraón y señor de toda su casa, y como gobernador de toda la tierra de Egipto.

and now, ye -- ye have not sent me hither, but God, and He doth set me for a father to Pharaoh, and for lord to all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

9 ¡ Pero dense prisa! Vayan con mi padre y díganle esto de mi parte: “Dios me ha hecho señor de todo Egipto. Ven a mí; no te detengas.

`Haste, and go up unto my father, then ye have said to him, Thus said Joseph thy son, God hath set me for lord to all Egypt; come down unto me, stay not,

10 H abitarás en la tierra de Gosén, y estarás cerca de mí, junto con tus hijos y tus nietos, tus ovejas y tus vacas, y todo lo que tienes.

and thou hast dwelt in the land of Goshen, and been near unto me, thou and thy sons, and thy son's sons, and thy flock, and thy herd, and all that thou hast,

11 Y o te alimentaré allí, para que no te falta nada a ti ni a tu familia, ni a nada de lo que tienes, pues aún están por venir cinco años de hambre.”

and I have nourished thee there -- for yet five years of famine -- lest thou become poor, thou and thy household, and all that thou hast.

12 U stedes y mi hermano Benjamín lo están viendo, que soy yo mismo quien les habla.

`And lo, your eyes are seeing, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that my mouth which is speaking unto you;

13 A sí que cuéntenle a mi padre de toda mi riqueza en Egipto, y de todo lo que han visto. ¡Pero dense prisa, y traigan aquí a mi padre!»

and ye have declared to my father all my honour in Egypt, and all that ye have seen, and ye have hasted, and have brought down my father hither.'

14 Y llorando, José se echó sobre el cuello de Benjamín, su hermano; y también Benjamín lloró sobre su cuello.

And he falleth on the neck of Benjamin his brother, and weepeth, and Benjamin hath wept on his neck;

15 L lorando también, José besó luego a todos sus hermanos, y después sus hermanos hablaron con él.

and he kisseth all his brethren, and weepeth over them; and afterwards have his brethren spoken with him.

16 L a noticia llegó a la casa del faraón. Le dijeron: «Han llegado los hermanos de José», lo cual agradó al faraón y a sus siervos.

And the sound hath been heard in the house of Pharaoh, saying, `Come have the brethren of Joseph;' and it is good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants,

17 E ntonces el faraón le dijo a José: «Diles a tus hermanos que carguen sus bestias, y que regresen a la tierra de Canaán;

and Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `Say unto thy brethren, This do ye: lade your beasts, and go, enter ye the land of Canaan,

18 q ue tomen al padre de ustedes y a sus familias, y que vengan a mí. Yo les daré a ustedes lo mejor de la tierra de Egipto, y ustedes comerán de la abundancia de la tierra.

and take your father, and your households, and come unto me, and I give to you the good of the land of Egypt, and eat ye the fat of the land.

19 Y tú, ordénales que hagan lo siguiente: que tomen de la tierra de Egipto carros para sus niños y mujeres, y que vengan y traigan al padre de ustedes.

`Yea, thou -- thou hast been commanded: this do ye, take for yourselves out of the land of Egypt, waggons for your infants, and for your wives, and ye have brought your father, and come;

20 Y no se preocupen por sus enseres, porque de ustedes será lo mejor de la tierra de Egipto.»

and your eye hath no pity on your vessels, for the good of all the land of Egypt yours.'

21 L os hijos de Israel lo hicieron así, y siguiendo la orden del faraón, José les dio carros y les proveyó víveres para el camino.

And the sons of Israel do so, and Joseph giveth waggons to them by the command of Pharaoh, and he giveth to them provision for the way;

22 A cada uno de ellos le dio mudas de ropa, y a Benjamín le dio trescientas piezas de plata y cinco mudas de ropa.

to all of them hath he given -- to each changes of garments, and to Benjamin he hath given three hundred silverlings, and five changes of garments;

23 A su padre le envió diez asnos cargados con lo mejor de Egipto, diez asnas cargadas de trigo, y pan y comida para el viaje de su padre.

and to his father he hath sent thus: ten asses bearing of the good things of Egypt, and ten she-asses bearing corn and bread, even food for his father for the way.

24 L uego despidió a sus hermanos, y ellos partieron. Y él les recomendó: «No vayan peleando por el camino.»

And he sendeth his brethren away, and they go; and he saith unto them, `Be not angry in the way.'

25 E llos salieron de Egipto y llegaron a la tierra de Canaán, a donde estaba Jacob su padre.

And they go up out of Egypt, and come in to the land of Canaan, unto Jacob their father,

26 Y le dieron la noticia. Le dijeron: «¡José vive todavía! ¡Es el señor de toda la tierra de Egipto!» Pero en el fondo Jacob se afligió, porque no les creía.

and they declare to him, saying, `Joseph yet alive,' and that he ruler over all the land of Egypt; and his heart ceaseth, for he hath not given credence to them.

27 E ntonces ellos le contaron todo lo que José había dicho, palabra por palabra. Y cuando Jacob vio los carros que José había enviado para llevarlo, su espíritu revivió.

And they speak unto him all the words of Joseph, which he hath spoken unto them, and he seeth the waggons which Joseph hath sent to bear him away, and live doth the spirit of Jacob their father;

28 E ntonces Israel dijo: «¡Me basta con que mi hijo José viva todavía! ¡Iré a verlo, antes de que me muera!»

and Israel saith, `Enough! Joseph my son yet alive; I go and see him before I die.'
