1 S aulo aún lanzaba amenazas de muerte contra los discípulos del Señor cuando fue a ver al sumo sacerdote.

And Saul, yet breathing of threatening and slaughter to the disciples of the Lord, having gone to the chief priest,

2 A llí le pidió cartas para las sinagogas de Damasco para que, en caso de hallar a hombres o mujeres de este Camino, los pudiera llevar presos a Jerusalén.

did ask from him letters to Damascus, unto the synagogues, that if he may find any being of the way, both men and women, he may bring them bound to Jerusalem.

3 P ero sucedió que de pronto en el camino, ya cerca de Damasco, lo rodeó un poderoso haz de luz que venía del cielo

And in the going, he came nigh to Damascus, and suddenly there shone round about him a light from the heaven,

4 y que lo hizo rodar por tierra, mientras oía una voz que le decía: «Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?»

and having fallen upon the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, `Saul, Saul, why me dost thou persecute?'

5 Y él contestó: «¿Quién eres, Señor?» Y la voz le dijo: «Yo soy Jesús, a quien tú persigues. [Dura cosa te es dar de coces contra el aguijón.

And he said, `Who art thou, Lord?' and the Lord said, `I am Jesus whom thou dost persecute; hard for thee at the pricks to kick;'

6 É l, temblando de temor, dijo: “Señor, ¿qué quieres que yo haga?” Y el Señor le dijo:] Levántate y entra en la ciudad. Allí se te dirá lo que debes hacer.»

trembling also, and astonished, he said, `Lord, what dost thou wish me to do?' and the Lord unto him, `Arise, and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behoveth thee to do.'

7 L os acompañantes de Saulo se quedaron atónitos, porque oían la voz pero no veían a nadie.

And the men who are journeying with him stood speechless, hearing indeed the voice but seeing no one,

8 S aulo se levantó y, cuando abrió los ojos, ya no podía ver, así que de la mano lo llevaron a Damasco,

and Saul arose from the earth, and his eyes having been opened, he beheld no one, and leading him by the hand they brought him to Damascus,

9 y allí estuvo tres días sin poder ver, y tampoco comió ni bebió nada.

and he was three days without seeing, and he did neither eat nor drink.

10 E n Damasco había un discípulo llamado Ananías, que había tenido una visión en la que el Señor lo llamaba por su nombre. Ananías había respondido: «Aquí me tienes, Señor.»

And there was a certain disciple in Damascus, by name Ananias, and the Lord said unto him in a vision, `Ananias;' and he said, `Behold me, Lord;'

11 E l Señor le dijo: «Levántate y ve a la calle llamada “Derecha”; allí, en la casa de Judas, busca a un hombre llamado Saulo, que es de Tarso y está orando.

and the Lord unto him, `Having risen, go on unto the street that is called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas, by name Saul of Tarsus, for, lo, he doth pray,

12 S aulo ha tenido una visión, en la que vio que un varón llamado Ananías entraba y le imponía las manos, con lo que le hacía recobrar la vista.»

and he saw in a vision a man, by name Ananias, coming in, and putting a hand on him, that he may see again.'

13 A nanías respondió: «Pero, Señor, he sabido que este hombre ha tratado muy mal a tus santos en Jerusalén.

And Ananias answered, `Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many evils he did to Thy saints in Jerusalem,

14 T ambién sé que los principales sacerdotes le han dado autoridad para aprehender a todos los que invocan tu nombre.»

and here he hath authority from the chief priests, to bind all those calling on Thy name.'

15 Y el Señor le dijo: «Ve allá, porque él es para mí un instrumento escogido. Él va a llevar mi nombre a las naciones, a los reyes y a los hijos de Israel.

And the Lord said unto him, `Be going on, because a choice vessel to Me is this one, to bear My name before nations and kings -- the sons also of Israel;

16 Y o le voy a mostrar todo lo que tiene que sufrir por causa de mi nombre.»

for I will shew him how many things it behoveth him for My name to suffer.'

17 A nanías fue y, una vez dentro de la casa, le impuso las manos y le dijo: «Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, que se te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recobres la vista y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo.»

And Ananias went away, and did enter into the house, and having put upon him hands, said, `Saul, brother, the Lord hath sent me -- Jesus who did appear to thee in the way in which thou wast coming -- that thou mayest see again, and mayest be filled with the Holy Spirit.'

18 A l momento, de los ojos de Saulo cayó algo que parecían escamas, y éste recibió la vista. Luego que se levantó, fue bautizado;

And immediately there fell from his eyes as it were scales, he saw again also presently, and having risen, was baptized,

19 y después de comer recobró las fuerzas y durante algunos días se quedó con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco. Saulo predica en Damasco

and having received nourishment, was strengthened, and Saul was with the disciples in Damascus certain days,

20 E nseguida Pablo comenzó a predicar en las sinagogas, donde afirmaba que Jesús era el Hijo de Dios.

and immediately in the synagogues he was preaching the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

21 T odos los que lo oían predicar se quedaban atónitos, y decían: «¿Acaso no es éste el que exterminaba en Jerusalén a los que invocaban el nombre de Jesús? ¿No es verdad que vino acá para aprehenderlos y llevarlos ante los principales sacerdotes?»

And all those hearing were amazed, and said, `Is not this he who laid waist in Jerusalem those calling on this name, and hither to this intent had come, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?'

22 P ero Saulo iba cobrando más fuerza, y confundía a los judíos que vivían en Damasco al demostrarles que Jesús era el Cristo. Saulo escapa de los judíos

And Saul was still more strengthened, and he was confounding the Jews dwelling in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

23 D espués de algún tiempo los judíos se reunieron en consejo y resolvieron matarlo,

And when many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel together to kill him,

24 a sí que día y noche hacían guardia a la entrada de la ciudad para matarlo. Pero Pablo se enteró de sus planes,

and their counsel against was known to Saul; they were also watching the gates both day and night, that they may kill him,

25 y una noche los discípulos lo pusieron dentro de una canasta y lo bajaron por la muralla de la ciudad. Saulo en Jerusalén

and the disciples having taken him, by night did let him down by the wall, letting down in a basket.

26 C uando Saulo llegó a Jerusalén, tuvo la intención de reunirse con los discípulos; pero todos le tenían miedo porque no creían que fuera uno de ellos.

And Saul, having come to Jerusalem, did try to join himself to the disciples, and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he is a disciple,

27 E ntonces Bernabé se encargó de llevar a Saulo ante los apóstoles, y allí les contó cómo Saulo había visto al Señor en el camino, cómo había hablado con él, y con qué valor había predicado en Damasco en el nombre de Jesús.

and Barnabas having taken him, brought unto the apostles, and did declare to them how in the way he saw the Lord, and that he spake to him, and how in Damascus he was speaking boldly in the name of Jesus.

28 D esde entonces Pablo pudo quedarse en Jerusalén con los apóstoles, y entraba y salía de la ciudad,

And he was with them, coming in and going out in Jerusalem,

29 y hablaba con los griegos y debatía con ellos, pero éstos trataban de matarlo.

and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, he was both speaking and disputing with the Hellenists, and they were taking in hand to kill him,

30 C uando los hermanos supieron esto, lo llevaron hasta Cesarea y lo enviaron a Tarso.

and the brethren having known, brought him down to Cesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 M ientras tanto, las iglesias en toda Judea, Galilea y Samaria vivían en paz y eran edificadas en el temor del Señor, y su número iba en aumento por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo. Curación de Eneas

Then, indeed, the assemblies throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, had peace, being built up, and, going on in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

32 P edro visitaba a todos los hermanos, así que también visitó a los santos que vivían en Lida.

And it came to pass that Peter passing throughout all, came down also unto the saints who were dwelling at Lydda,

33 A llí había un hombre llamado Eneas, que tenía ocho años de estar en cama, pues era paralítico.

and he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name -- for eight years laid upon a couch -- who was paralytic,

34 C uando Pedro lo vio, le dijo: «Eneas, Jesucristo te ha sanado. Levántate y arréglate.» Y Eneas se levantó enseguida.

and Peter said to him, `Aeneas, heal thee doth Jesus the Christ; arise and spread for thyself;' and immediately he rose,

35 A l ver esto, los habitantes de Lida y de Sarón se convirtieron al Señor. Resurrección de Dorcas

and all those dwelling at Lydda, and Saron saw him, and did turn to the Lord.

36 E n Jope había una discípula llamada Tabitá, es decir, Dorcas. Tabitá siempre hacía muchas buenas obras y ayudaba mucho a la gente pobre.

And in Joppa there was a certain female disciple, by name Tabitha, (which interpreted, is called Dorcas,) this woman was full of good works and kind acts that she was doing;

37 P ero sucedió que en esos días se enfermó y murió. Entonces lavaron su cadáver, y luego lo pusieron en una sala.

and it came to pass in those days she, having ailed, died, and having bathed her, they laid her in an upper chamber,

38 C omo Lida estaba cerca de Jope, los discípulos supieron que Pedro estaba allí; entonces enviaron a dos hombres para pedirle que fuera a Jope urgentemente.

and Lydda being nigh to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter is in that, sent two men unto him, calling on him not to delay to come through unto them.

39 P edro se levantó y se fue con ellos. Cuando llegó, lo llevaron a la sala. Allí, todas las viudas lo rodearon y, mientras lloraban, le mostraron las túnicas y los vestidos que Dorcas había hecho cuando vivía.

And Peter having risen, went with them, whom having come, they brought into the upper chamber, and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing coats and garments, as many as Dorcas was making while she was with them.

40 E ntonces Pedro pidió que salieran todos; luego se puso de rodillas y, dirigiéndose al cuerpo, oró y dijo: «Tabitá, ¡levántate!» Ella abrió los ojos y, cuando vio a Pedro, se puso de pie.

And Peter having put them all forth without, having bowed the knees, did pray, and having turned unto the body said, `Tabitha, arise;' and she opened her eyes, and having seen Peter, she sat up,

41 P edro le dio la mano y la levantó; luego llamó a los santos y a las viudas, y les entregó viva a Tabitá.

and having given her hand, he lifted her up, and having called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive,

42 E sto llegó a saberse en toda Jope, y muchos creyeron en el Señor.

and it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord;

43 D urante muchos días Pedro se quedó en Jope, en la casa de un curtidor llamado Simón.

and it came to pass, that he remained many days in Joppa, with a certain one, Simon a tanner.
