Sons of Judah: Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

2 R eaía hijo de Sobal fue el padre de Yajat, y Yajat fue el padre de Ajumay y de Lajad. Éstas fueron las familias de los soratitas.

And Reaiah son of Shobal begat Jahath, and Jahath begat Ahumai and Lahad; these families of the Zorathite.

3 L os descendientes de Etam fueron Jezrel, Isma e Ibdas. Su hermana se llamaba Jaslelponí.

And these of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister Hazzelelponi,

4 P enuel fue padre de Gedor, y Ezer fue padre de Jusá. Éstos fueron los hijos de Jur, el primogénito de Efrata, padre de Belén.

and Penuel father of Gedor, and Ezer father of Hushah. These sons of Hur, first-born of Ephratah, father of Beth-Lehem.

5 A sjur, el padre de Tecoa, tuvo dos mujeres, Hela y Nará.

And to Ashhur father of Tekoa were two wives, Helah and Naarah;

6 N ará dio a luz a Ajusán, Jéfer, Temeni y Ajastari. Éstos fueron los hijos de Nará.

and Naarah beareth to him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari: these sons of Naarah.

7 L os hijos de Hela fueron Séret, Yesojar y Etnán.

And sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.

8 C os fue el padre de Anub, de Sobebá y de la familia de Ajarjel hijo de Harún.

And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel son of Harum.

9 J abés fue el más destacado de sus hermanos. Su madre lo llamó Jabés, porque dijo: «Yo lo di a luz con dolor.»

And Jabez is honoured above his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, `Because I have brought forth with grief.'

10 Y Jabés invocó al Dios de Israel. Dijo: «¡Cómo quisiera que me des tu bendición, que ensanches mi territorio, que tu mano esté conmigo y que me libres del mal, para que no sufra yo ningún daño!» Y Dios le concedió lo que pidió.

And Jabez calleth to the God of Israel, saying, `If blessing Thou dost bless me, then Thou hast made great my border, and Thy hand hath been with me, and Thou hast kept from evil -- not to grieve me;' and God bringeth in that which he asked.

11 Q uelub, el hermano de Sujá, fue el padre de Mehír, que fue el padre de Estón.

And Chelub brother of Shuah begat Mehir; he father of Eshton.

12 E stón fue el padre de Bet Rafá, de Paseaj y de Tejiná, el fundador de la ciudad de Najás. Éstos son los varones de Reca.

And Eshton begat Beth-Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah father of Ir-Nahash; these men of Rechah.

13 L os hijos de Cenaz fueron Otoniel y Seraías. Los hijos de Otoniel fueron Jatat

And sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah; and sons of Othniel: Hathath.

14 y Meonotay, que fue el padre de Ofrá. Seraías fue el padre de Joab, antepasado de los habitantes del valle de Jarasín, los cuales eran artífices.

And Meonothai begat Ophrah, and Seraiah begat Joab father of the valley of artificers, for they were artificers.

15 L os hijos de Caleb hijo de Yefune fueron Iru, Elá y Noam. El hijo de Elá fue Cenaz.

And sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and sons of Elah, even Kenaz.

16 L os hijos de Yalelel fueron Zif, Zifa, Tirías y Asareel.

And sons of Jehaleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.

17 L os hijos de Esdras fueron Jéter, Mered, Efer y Jalón. Esdras fue también padre de María, de Samay y de Isbaj, el padre de Estemoa.

And sons of Ezra Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she beareth Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah father of Eshtemoa.

18 J ehudaía, su mujer, dio a luz a Jered, el padre de Gedor, a Jéber, el padre de Soco, y a Jecutiel, el padre de Zanoaj. Éstos fueron los hijos de Bitia, la hija de Faraón, con la cual se casó Mered.

And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered father of Gedor, and Heber father of Socho, and Jekuthiel father of Zanoah. And these sons of Bithiah daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took,

And sons of Shimon Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-Hanon, and Tilon; and sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-Zoheth.

21 L os hijos de Sela, el hijo de Judá fueron Er, el padre de Leca; Laada, el padre de Maresa, las familias de los que trabajan el lino en Bet Asbea,

Sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er father of Lecah, and Laadah father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the service of fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

22 J oacín, y Joás y Saraf, los varones de Cozeba, que según los registros antiguos dominaron en Moab y volvieron a Lehem.

and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab and Jashubi-Lehem; and these things ancient.

23 É stos eran alfareros, y habitaban en medio de plantíos y cercados, y estaban al servicio del rey. Descendientes de Simeón

They the potters and inhabitants of Netaim and Gedera; with the king in his work they dwelt there.

24 L os hijos de Simeón fueron Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zeraj, Saúl,

Sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

25 s u hijo Salún, su hijo Mibsán, y su hijo Misma.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

26 L os hijos de Misma fueron Jamuel, Zacur y Simey.

And sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zacchur his son, Shimei his son.

27 S imey tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas, pero sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni su familia se multiplicó como los hijos de Judá.

And to Shimei sixteen sons and six daughters, and to his brethren there are not many sons, and none of their families have multiplied as much as the sons of Judah.

28 H abitaron en Berseba, Molada, Jasar Súal,

And they dwell in Beer-Sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shaul,

29 B ilá, Esén, Tolad,

and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,

30 B etuel, Jormá, Siclag,

and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,

31 B et Marcabot, Jasar Susín, Bet Biray y Sagarayin. Éstas fueron sus ciudades, hasta el reinado de David.

and in Beth-Marcaboth, and in Hazar-Susim, and in Beth-Birei, and in Shaarim; these their cities till the reigning of David.

32 S us aldeas fueron Etam, Ayin, Rimón, Toquén y Asán, es decir, cinco pueblos,

And their villages Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,

33 y todas las aldeas que rodeaban estas ciudades, hasta Baal. Éste fue su lugar de residencia, y ésta fue su descendencia.

and all their villages that round about these cities unto Baal; these their dwellings, and they have their genealogy:

34 M esobab, Jamlec, Josías hijo de Amasías,

even Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah son of Amaziah,

35 J oel, Jehú hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel,

and Joel, and Jehu son of Josibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,

36 E lioguenay, Jacoba, Yesojaías, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaías,

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 Z iza hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simerí, hijo de Semaías.

and Ziza son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.

38 T odos ellos, por sus nombres, eran jefes entre sus familias; y las casas de sus padres fueron multiplicadas en gran manera.

These who are coming in by name princes in their families, and the house of their fathers have broken forth into a multitude;

39 L legaron hasta la entrada de Gedor y hasta el oriente del valle, en busca de pastos para sus ganados,

and they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

40 y hallaron pastos gruesos y buenos, y una tierra ancha y espaciosa, quieta y reposada, porque anteriormente la habitaban los de Cam.

and they find pasture, fat and good, and the land broad of sides, and quiet, and safe, for of Ham are those dwelling there before.

41 É stos, cuyos nombres han quedado registrados, llegaron en los días de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y desbarataron las tiendas y las cabañas que encontraron allí, y las destruyeron, como hasta el día de hoy se ve, y habitaron allí en lugar de ellos, porque allí había pastos para sus ganados.

And these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smite their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction unto this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock there.

42 A demás, quinientos hombres de los hijos de Simeón fueron al monte de Seir, capitaneados por Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isguí,

And of them, of the sons of Simeon, there have gone to mount Seir, five hundred men, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head,

43 y acabaron con los amalecitas que habían quedado, y allí se quedaron a vivir, hasta el día de hoy.

and they smite the remnant of those escaped of Amalek, and dwell there unto this day.
