1 M oisés fue y repitió ante todo Israel estas palabras.

And Moses goeth and speaketh these words unto all Israel,

2 L es dijo: «Hoy cumplo ciento veinte años de edad. Ya no puedo salir ni entrar. Además, el Señor me ha dicho: “Tú no vas a cruzar este río Jordán.”

and he saith unto them, `A son of a hundred and twenty years I to-day; I am not able any more to go out and to come in, and Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou dost not pass over this Jordan,

3 S erá Josué quien lo cruce delante de ustedes, como el Señor lo ha dicho. Con él lo cruzará el Señor su Dios, y será él quien destruya a estas naciones que tienen delante de ustedes, para que tomen posesión de ellas.

`Jehovah thy God He is passing over before thee, He doth destroy these nations from before thee, and thou hast possessed them; Joshua -- he is passing over before thee as Jehovah hath spoken,

4 E l Señor hará con ellos lo mismo que hizo con Sijón y con Og, los reyes de los amorreos, a quienes destruyó, y con su tierra.

and Jehovah hath done to them as he hath done to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorite, and to their land, whom He destroyed.

5 E l Señor los pondrá en sus manos, y ustedes harán con ellos conforme a todo lo que les he ordenado.

And Jehovah hath given them before your face, and ye have done to them according to all the command which I have commanded you;

6 E sfuércense y cobren ánimo; no teman, ni tengan miedo de ellos, porque contigo marcha el Señor tu Dios, y él no te dejará ni te desamparará.»

be strong and courageous, fear not, nor be terrified because of them, for Jehovah thy God He who is going with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee.'

7 M oisés llamó a Josué, y en presencia de todo Israel le dijo: «Esfuérzate y anímate; porque tú entrarás con este pueblo a la tierra que el Señor juró a sus padres que les daría, y tú les darás posesión de ella.

And Moses calleth for Joshua, and saith unto him before the eyes of all Israel, `Be strong and courageous, for thou -- thou dost go in with this people unto the land which Jehovah hath sworn to their fathers to give to them, and thou -- thou dost cause them to inherit it;

8 E l Señor va delante de ti. Él estará contigo, y no te dejará ni te desamparará. No temas ni te intimides.»

and Jehovah He who is going before thee, He himself is with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee; fear not, nor be affrighted.'

9 M oisés escribió esta ley y se la entregó a los sacerdotes hijos de Leví, los cuales llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor, y a todos los ancianos de Israel.

And Moses writeth this law, and giveth it unto the priests (sons of Levi, those bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah), and unto all the elders of Israel,

10 L uego, Moisés les dio la siguiente orden: «Cada siete años, en el año de la condonación de deudas y durante la fiesta de los tabernáculos,

and Moses commandeth them, saying, `At the end of seven years, in the appointed time, the year of release, in the feast of booths,

11 c uando todo Israel se presente delante del Señor tu Dios en el lugar que él escoja, leerás esta ley en voz alta, a oídos de todo Israel.

in the coming in of all Israel to see the face of Jehovah in the place which He chooseth, thou dost proclaim this law before all Israel, in their ears.

12 C ongregarás a todo el pueblo, es decir, a hombres, mujeres y niños, y a los extranjeros que vivan en tus ciudades, para que oigan y aprendan, y teman al Señor su Dios, y se dediquen a cumplir todas las palabras de esta ley.

`Assemble the people, the men, and the women, and the infants, and thy sojourner who within thy gates, so that they hear, and so that they learn, and have feared Jehovah your God, and observed to do all the words of this law;

13 A sí, los hijos de ellos que no conocieron esta ley la oirán, y aprenderán a temer al Señor su Dios todos los días que vivan en la tierra al otro lado del Jordán, que es adonde se dirigen para tomar posesión de ella.»

and their sons, who have not known, do hear, and have learned to fear Jehovah your God all the days which ye are living on the ground whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it.'

14 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Mira, el día de tu muerte se acerca, así que llama a Josué, y espérenme en el tabernáculo de reunión para que le dé mis órdenes.» Moisés y Josué se dirigieron al tabernáculo de reunión, y allí esperaron.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, thy days have drawn near to die; call Joshua, and station yourselves in the tent of meeting, and I charge him;' and Moses goeth -- Joshua also -- and they station themselves in the tent of meeting,

15 E ntonces el Señor se apareció en el tabernáculo, en la columna de nube, y ésta se detuvo sobre la puerta del tabernáculo.

and Jehovah is seen in the tent, in a pillar of a cloud; and the pillar of the cloud standeth at the opening of the tent.

16 A llí el Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Tú vas ahora a dormir con tus padres. Pero este pueblo se rebelará y me será infiel con los dioses ajenos de la tierra a la cual van a entrar. Me abandonará y anulará el pacto que he concertado con ellos.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, thou art lying down with thy fathers, and this people hath risen, and gone a-whoring after the gods of the stranger of the land into the midst of which it hath entered, and forsaken Me, and broken My covenant which I made with it;

17 C uando eso suceda, se encenderá mi furor contra ellos, y los abandonaré; les daré la espalda y serán destruidos, y les sobrevendrán muchos males y angustias, y entonces dirán: “¡Todos estos males nos han sobrevenido porque nuestro Dios no está en medio de nosotros!”

and Mine anger hath burned against it in that day, and I have forsaken them, and hidden My face from them, and it hath been for consumption, and many evils and distresses have found it, and it hath said in that day, Is it not because that my God is not in my midst -- these evils have found me?

18 L o cierto es que, cuando eso suceda, yo les daré la espalda por todas las maldades que ellos habrán cometido, y por haberse ido tras dioses ajenos.

and I certainly hide My face in that day for all the evil which it hath done, for it hath turned unto other gods.

19 A sí que escriban este cántico. Tú mismo, enséñaselo a los hijos de Israel; ponlo en sus labios, para que este cántico me sirva de testimonio contra los hijos de Israel.

`And now, write for you this song, and teach it the sons of Israel; put it in their mouths, so that this song is to Me for a witness against the sons of Israel,

20 P orque yo los introduciré en la tierra que juré a sus padres, tierra que fluye leche y miel, y ellos comerán hasta saciarse, y engordarán, y se volverán a dioses ajenos y les servirán, y me harán enojar, e invalidarán mi pacto.

and I bring them in unto the ground which I have sworn to their fathers -- flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, and been fat, and have turned unto other gods, and they have served them, and despised Me, and broken My covenant.

21 Y cuando les sobrevengan muchos males y angustias, este cántico será el testigo que les refute en su propia cara, pues será evocado por los labios de sus descendientes. En realidad, yo sé de antemano lo que se proponen, aun antes de introducirlos en la tierra que juré darles.»

`And it hath been, when many evils and distresses do meet it, that this song hath testified to its face for a witness; for it is not forgotten out of the mouth of its seed, for I have known its imagining which it is doing to-day, before I bring them in unto the land of which I have sworn.'

22 E se mismo día Moisés escribió este cántico, y se lo enseñó a los hijos de Israel.

And Moses writeth this song on that day, and doth teach it the sons of Israel,

23 Y el Señor le dio esta orden a Josué hijo de Nun: «Esfuérzate y anímate, que tú vas a hacer que los hijos de Israel entren en la tierra que juré darles. Yo estaré contigo.» Se ordena guardar la ley junto al arca

and He commandeth Joshua son of Nun, and saith, `Be strong and courageous, for thou dost bring in the sons of Israel unto the land which I have sworn to them, and I -- I am with thee.'

24 C uando Moisés terminó de escribir en un libro todas las palabras de esta ley,

And it cometh to pass, when Moses finisheth to write the words of this law on a book till their completion,

25 a los levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor les dio la siguiente orden:

that Moses commandeth the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,

26 « Tomen este libro de la ley, y pónganlo junto al arca del pacto del Señor su Dios. Déjenlo allí como testigo contra ustedes.

`Take this Book of the Law, and thou hast set it on the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and it hath been there against thee for a witness;

27 Y o se bien que ustedes son rebeldes y obstinados. Si aun ahora que vivo entre ustedes, se rebelan contra el Señor, ¡con más razón lo harán después que yo haya muerto!

for I -- I have known thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck; lo, in my being yet alive with you to-day, rebellious ye have been with Jehovah, and also surely after my death.

28 R eúnan a mi alrededor a todos los ancianos de sus tribus, y a sus oficiales, que yo voy a decirles claramente estas palabras, y a poner a los cielos y a la tierra como testigos contra ellos.

`Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your authorities, and I speak in their ears these words, and cause to testify against them the heavens and the earth,

29 Y o sé bien que después de mi muerte ustedes se van a corromper y se apartarán del camino que les he mandado seguir, y que en los últimos días les sobrevendrán males por la maldad que cometerán a los ojos del Señor, y que las obras de sus manos provocarán su enojo.» Cántico de Moisés

for I have known that after my death ye do very corruptly, and have turned aside out of the way which I commanded you, and evil hath met you in the latter end of the days, because ye do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to make Him angry with the work of your hands.'

30 E ntonces Moisés repitió ante toda la congregación de Israel todas las palabras de este cántico:

And Moses speaketh in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, till their completion: --
