2 C on la soberbia llega también la deshonra, pero la sabiduría acompaña a los humildes.

Pride hath come, and shame cometh, And with the lowly wisdom.

3 L a integridad guía a los hombres rectos pero la perversidad destruye a los pecadores.

The integrity of the upright leadeth them, And the perverseness of the treacherous destroyeth them.

4 D e nada sirven las riquezas en el día de la ira, pero la justicia te librará de la muerte.

Wealth profiteth not in a day of wrath, And righteousness delivereth from death.

5 L a justicia corrige el rumbo del hombre cabal, pero el impío tropieza por su maldad.

The righteousness of the perfect maketh right his way, And by his wickedness doth the wicked fall.

6 L a justicia de los rectos los pone a salvo, pero a los pecadores los atrapa su pecado.

The righteousness of the upright delivereth them, And in mischief the treacherous are captured.

7 C on el malvado muere su esperanza; muere la expectación de los malvados.

In the death of a wicked man, hope perisheth, And the expectation of the iniquitous hath been lost.

8 E l justo se libra de la tribulación, y su lugar lo ocupa el impío.

The righteous from distress is drawn out, And the wicked goeth in instead of him.

9 E l impío daña a su prójimo con sus labios, pero a los justos los salva la sabiduría.

With the mouth a hypocrite corrupteth his friend, And by knowledge the righteous are drawn out.

10 S i a los justos les va bien, la ciudad se alegra; también hay fiesta cuando los impíos perecen.

In the good of the righteous a city exulteth, And in the destruction of the wicked singing.

11 L a bendición de los justos enaltece a la ciudad; la boca de los impíos la trastorna.

By the blessing of the upright is a city exalted, And by the mouth of the wicked thrown down.

12 E l falto de cordura menosprecia a su prójimo; el hombre prudente sabe guardar silencio.

Whoso is despising his neighbour lacketh heart, And a man of understanding keepeth silence.

13 Q uien es chismoso da a conocer el secreto; quien es ecuánime es también reservado.

A busybody is revealing secret counsel, And the faithful of spirit is covering the matter.

14 C uando no hay buen guía, la gente tropieza; La seguridad depende de los muchos consejeros.

Without counsels do a people fall, And deliverance in a multitude of counsellors.

15 A vala a un extraño y vivirás angustiado; evita dar fianzas y vivirás tranquilo.

Evil suffereth when he hath been surety a stranger, And whoso is hating suretyship is confident.

16 L a mujer agraciada acrecienta su honra; la gente violenta acrecienta sus riquezas.

A gracious woman retaineth honour, And terrible retain riches.

17 E l hombre de bien se hace bien a sí mismo; el hombre cruel a sí mismo se hace daño.

A kind man is rewarding his own soul, And the fierce is troubling his own flesh.

18 L as obras del malvado no tienen sustento; sembrar la justicia tiene un premio seguro.

The wicked is getting a lying wage, And whoso is sowing righteousness -- a true reward.

19 L a justicia conduce a la vida, y seguir el mal conduce a la muerte.

Rightly righteousness for life, And whoso is pursuing evil -- for his own death.

20 E l Señor detesta al corazón perverso, pero ama a los que van por el camino recto.

21 T arde o temprano, el malvado será castigado, pero los justos y los suyos saldrán bien librados.

Hand to hand, the wicked is not acquitted, And the seed of the righteous hath escaped.

22 L a mujer bella pero fatua es como argolla de oro en hocico de cerdo.

A ring of gold in the nose of a sow -- A fair woman and stubborn of behaviour.

23 L os justos sólo abrigan buenos deseos; la esperanza de los impíos es el enojo.

The desire of the righteous only good, The hope of the wicked transgression.

24 A quienes reparten, más se les da; los tacaños acaban en la pobreza.

There is who is scattering, and yet is increased, And who is keeping back from uprightness, only to want.

25 E l que es magnánimo, prospera; el que sacia a otros, será saciado.

A liberal soul is made fat, And whoso is watering, he also is watered.

26 A l que acapara el trigo, el pueblo lo maldice, pero bendice al que lo vende.

Whoso is withholding corn, the people execrate him, And a blessing for the head of him who is selling.

27 E l que procura el bien, es bien favorecido; al que procura el mal, el mal le sobreviene.

Whoso is earnestly seeking good Seeketh a pleasing thing, And whoso is seeking evil -- it meeteth him.

28 E l que confía en sus riquezas, fracasa; los justos, en cambio, reverdecen como ramas.

Whoso is confident in his wealth he falleth, And as a leaf, the righteous flourish.

29 E l que trastorna su casa hereda el viento; el necio acaba siendo esclavo del sabio.

Whoso is troubling his own house inheriteth wind, And a servant the fool to the wise of heart.

30 E l fruto del justo es árbol de vida; el que arrebata la vida no es sabio.

The fruit of the righteous a tree of life, And whoso is taking souls wise.

31 E l justo recibe su recompensa en la tierra, ¡y también el impío y el pecador!

Lo, the righteous in the earth is recompensed, Surely also the wicked and the sinner!
