1 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Mira, ante el faraón, tú serás como si fuera yo mismo, y tu hermano Aarón será tu profeta.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `See, I have given thee a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron thy brother is thy prophet;

2 T ú le dirás al faraón todo lo que yo te ordene decir, y tu hermano Aarón hablará con él para que deje ir de su país los hijos de Israel.

thou -- thou dost speak all that I command thee, and Aaron thy brother doth speak unto Pharaoh, and he hath sent the sons of Israel out of his land.

3 Y o endureceré el corazón del faraón, para multiplicar en Egipto mis señales y mis maravillas.

`And I harden the heart of Pharaoh, and have multiplied My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt,

4 E l faraón no les hará caso, pero yo descargaré mi mano sobre Egipto, y con grandes juicios sacaré de ese país a mis legiones, a mi pueblo, a los hijos de Israel.

and Pharaoh doth not hearken, and I have put My hand on Egypt, and have brought out My hosts, My people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments;

5 C uando yo extienda mi mano sobre Egipto y saque de allí a los hijos de Israel, los egipcios van a saber que yo soy el Señor.»

and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah, in My stretching out My hand against Egypt; and I have brought out the sons of Israel from their midst.'

6 E ntonces Moisés y Aarón hicieron lo que el Señor les ordenó hacer.

And Moses doth -- Aaron also -- as Jehovah commanded them; so have they done;

7 C uando hablaron con el faraón, Moisés tenía ochenta años de edad, y Aarón ochenta y tres. La vara de Aarón

and Moses a son of eighty years, and Aaron a son of eighty and three years, in their speaking unto Pharaoh.

8 E l Señor habló con Moisés y Aarón, y les dijo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

9 « Si como respuesta el faraón les pide un milagro, tú le ordenarás a Aarón que tome su vara y la arroje delante del faraón, para que se convierta en culebra.»

`When Pharaoh speaketh unto you, saying, Give for yourselves a wonder; then thou hast said unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast before Pharaoh -- it becometh a monster.'

10 E ntonces Moisés y Aarón fueron a hablar con el faraón, e hicieron lo que el Señor les había ordenado: Aarón arrojó su vara delante del faraón y de sus siervos, y ésta se convirtió en culebra.

And Moses goeth in -- Aaron also -- unto Pharaoh, and they do so as Jehovah hath commanded; and Aaron casteth his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it becometh a monster.

11 P ero el faraón llamó también a los sabios y hechiceros de Egipto, y con sus encantamientos ellos hicieron lo mismo:

And Pharaoh also calleth for wise men, and for sorcerers; and the scribes of Egypt, they also, with their flashings, do so,

12 c ada uno arrojó su vara, y éstas se volvieron culebras; sin embargo, la vara de Aarón se tragó a las varas de ellos.

and they cast down each his rod, and they become monsters, and the rod of Aaron swalloweth their rods;

13 P ero tal y como el Señor lo había dicho, el corazón del faraón se endureció, y no les hizo caso. La plaga de sangre

and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken.

14 E ntonces el Señor le dijo a Moisés: «El corazón del faraón está endurecido, y no quiere dejar ir al pueblo.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `The heart of Pharaoh hath been hard, he hath refused to send the people away;

15 A sí que ve a hablar con el faraón por la mañana, a la hora que él sale al río. Párate en la orilla y enfréntate a él. Toma en tu mano la vara que se volvió culebra,

go unto Pharaoh in the morning, lo, he is going out to the water, and thou hast stood to meet him by the edge of the River, and the rod which was turned to a serpent thou dost take in thy hand,

16 y dile: “El Señor, el Dios de los hebreos, me ha enviado a decirte: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo al desierto, para que me sirva’, pero hasta ahora no has querido hacer caso.

and thou hast said unto him: Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, hath sent me unto thee, saying, Send My people away, and they serve Me in the wilderness; and lo, thou hast not hearkened hitherto.

17 P or eso, así ha dicho el Señor: ‘Con esto vas a saber que yo soy el Señor.’ Con la vara que tengo en la mano voy a golpear el agua del río, y ésta se convertirá en sangre.

`Thus said Jehovah: By this thou knowest that I Jehovah; lo, I am smiting with the rod which in my hand, on the waters which in the River, and they have been turned to blood,

18 L os peces que hay en el río morirán, y el río apestará, y los egipcios tendrán asco de beber el agua del río.”»

and the fish that in the River die, and the River hath stank, and the Egyptians have been wearied of drinking waters from the River.'

19 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Dile a Aarón que tome su vara, y que extienda su mano sobre las aguas de Egipto: sobre sus ríos, arroyos y estanques, y sobre todos sus depósitos de agua, para que se conviertan en sangre, y haya sangre por todo Egipto, lo mismo en los vasos de madera que en los de piedra.»

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thy hand against the waters of Egypt, against their streams, against their rivers, and against their ponds, and against all their collections of waters; and they are blood -- and there hath been blood in all the land of Egypt, both in wood, and in stone.'

20 M oisés y Aarón hicieron lo que el Señor les ordenó hacer. Aarón levantó la vara y, en presencia del faraón y de sus siervos, golpeó las aguas del río, ¡y todas las aguas del río se convirtieron en sangre!

And Moses and Aaron do so, as Jehovah hath commanded, and he lifteth up with the rod, and smiteth the waters which in the River, before the eyes of Pharaoh, and before the eyes of his servants, and all the waters which in the River are turned to blood,

21 A sí mismo, murieron los peces que había en el río, y el río mismo se corrompió de tal manera que los egipcios no podían beber de él. Por toda la tierra de Egipto había sangre;

and the fish which in the River hath died, and the River stinketh, and the Egyptians have not been able to drink water from the River; and the blood is in all the land of Egypt.

22 p ero como los hechiceros de Egipto hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos, el corazón del faraón se endureció y, tal y como el Señor lo había dicho, no les hizo caso.

And the scribes of Egypt do so with their flashings, and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken,

23 A l contrario, el faraón se volvió a su casa, y tampoco a esto le dio atención.

and Pharaoh turneth and goeth in unto his house, and hath not set his heart even to this;

24 M ientras tanto, para poder beber, en todo Egipto hicieron pozos alrededor del río, pues no podían beber de las aguas del río.

and all the Egyptians seek water round about the river to drink, for they have not been able to drink of the waters of the River.

25 A sí pasaron siete días, después de que el Señor hirió el río.

And seven days are completed after Jehovah's smiting the River,
