1 O Senhor lhe respondeu: “Dou-lhe a minha autoridade perante o faraó, e seu irmão Arão será seu porta-voz.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `See, I have given thee a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron thy brother is thy prophet;

2 V ocê falará tudo o que eu lhe ordenar, e o seu irmão Arão dirá ao faraó que deixe os israelitas saírem do país.

thou -- thou dost speak all that I command thee, and Aaron thy brother doth speak unto Pharaoh, and he hath sent the sons of Israel out of his land.

3 E u, porém, farei o coração do faraó resistir; e, embora multiplique meus sinais e maravilhas no Egito,

`And I harden the heart of Pharaoh, and have multiplied My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt,

4 e le não os ouvirá. Então porei a minha mão sobre o Egito, e com poderosos atos de juízo tirarei do Egito os meus exércitos, o meu povo, os israelitas.

and Pharaoh doth not hearken, and I have put My hand on Egypt, and have brought out My hosts, My people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments;

5 E os egípcios saberão que eu sou o Senhor, quando eu estender a minha mão contra o Egito e tirar de lá os israelitas”.

and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah, in My stretching out My hand against Egypt; and I have brought out the sons of Israel from their midst.'

6 M oisés e Arão fizeram como o Senhor lhes havia ordenado.

And Moses doth -- Aaron also -- as Jehovah commanded them; so have they done;

7 M oisés tinha oitenta anos de idade e Arão oitenta e três, quando falaram com o faraó. A Vara de Arão Transforma-se em Serpente

and Moses a son of eighty years, and Aaron a son of eighty and three years, in their speaking unto Pharaoh.

8 D isse o Senhor a Moisés e a Arão:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

9 “ Quando o faraó lhes pedir que façam algum milagre, diga a Arão que tome a sua vara e jogue-a diante do faraó; e ela se transformará numa serpente”.

`When Pharaoh speaketh unto you, saying, Give for yourselves a wonder; then thou hast said unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast before Pharaoh -- it becometh a monster.'

10 M oisés e Arão dirigiram-se ao faraó e fizeram como o Senhor tinha ordenado. Arão jogou a vara diante do faraó e seus conselheiros, e ela se transformou em serpente.

And Moses goeth in -- Aaron also -- unto Pharaoh, and they do so as Jehovah hath commanded; and Aaron casteth his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it becometh a monster.

11 O faraó, porém, mandou chamar os sábios e feiticeiros; e também os magos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa por meio das suas ciências ocultas.

And Pharaoh also calleth for wise men, and for sorcerers; and the scribes of Egypt, they also, with their flashings, do so,

12 C ada um deles jogou ao chão uma vara, e estas se transformaram em serpentes. Mas a vara de Arão engoliu as varas deles.

and they cast down each his rod, and they become monsters, and the rod of Aaron swalloweth their rods;

13 C ontudo, o coração do faraó se endureceu e ele não quis dar ouvidos a Moisés e a Arão, como o Senhor tinha dito. A Primeira Praga: Sangue

and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken.

14 D isse o Senhor a Moisés: “O coração do faraó está obstinado; ele não quer deixar o povo ir.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `The heart of Pharaoh hath been hard, he hath refused to send the people away;

15 V á ao faraó de manhã, quando ele estiver indo às águas. Espere-o na margem do rio para encontrá-lo e leve também a vara que se transformou em serpente.

go unto Pharaoh in the morning, lo, he is going out to the water, and thou hast stood to meet him by the edge of the River, and the rod which was turned to a serpent thou dost take in thy hand,

16 D iga-lhe: O Senhor, o Deus dos hebreus, mandou-me dizer-lhe: Deixe ir o meu povo, para prestar-me culto no deserto. Mas até agora você não me atendeu.

and thou hast said unto him: Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, hath sent me unto thee, saying, Send My people away, and they serve Me in the wilderness; and lo, thou hast not hearkened hitherto.

17 A ssim diz o Senhor: Nisto você saberá que eu sou o Senhor: com a vara que trago na mão ferirei as águas do Nilo, e elas se transformarão em sangue.

`Thus said Jehovah: By this thou knowest that I Jehovah; lo, I am smiting with the rod which in my hand, on the waters which in the River, and they have been turned to blood,

18 O s peixes do Nilo morrerão, o rio ficará cheirando mal, e os egípcios não suportarão beber das suas águas”.

and the fish that in the River die, and the River hath stank, and the Egyptians have been wearied of drinking waters from the River.'

19 D isse o Senhor a Moisés: “Diga a Arão que tome a sua vara e estenda a mão sobre as águas do Egito, dos rios, dos canais, dos açudes e de todos os reservatórios, e elas se transformarão em sangue. Haverá sangue por toda a terra do Egito, até nas vasilhas de madeira e nas vasilhas de pedra”.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thy hand against the waters of Egypt, against their streams, against their rivers, and against their ponds, and against all their collections of waters; and they are blood -- and there hath been blood in all the land of Egypt, both in wood, and in stone.'

20 M oisés e Arão fizeram como o Senhor tinha ordenado. Arão levantou a vara e feriu as águas do Nilo na presença do faraó e dos seus conselheiros; e toda a água do rio transformou-se em sangue.

And Moses and Aaron do so, as Jehovah hath commanded, and he lifteth up with the rod, and smiteth the waters which in the River, before the eyes of Pharaoh, and before the eyes of his servants, and all the waters which in the River are turned to blood,

21 O s peixes morreram e o rio cheirava tão mal que os egípcios não conseguiam beber das suas águas. Havia sangue por toda a terra do Egito.

and the fish which in the River hath died, and the River stinketh, and the Egyptians have not been able to drink water from the River; and the blood is in all the land of Egypt.

22 M as os magos do Egito fizeram a mesma coisa por meio de suas ciências ocultas. O coração do faraó se endureceu, e ele não deu ouvidos a Moisés e a Arão, como o Senhor tinha dito.

And the scribes of Egypt do so with their flashings, and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken,

23 A o contrário, deu-lhes as costas e voltou para o seu palácio. Nem assim o faraó levou isso a sério.

and Pharaoh turneth and goeth in unto his house, and hath not set his heart even to this;

24 T odos os egípcios cavaram buracos às margens do Nilo para encontrar água potável, pois da água do rio não podiam mais beber.

and all the Egyptians seek water round about the river to drink, for they have not been able to drink of the waters of the River.

25 P assaram-se sete dias depois que o Senhor feriu o Nilo.

And seven days are completed after Jehovah's smiting the River,
