1 D isse ainda o Senhor a Moisés:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 “ Diga o seguinte a toda comunidade de Israel: Sejam santos porque eu, o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, sou santo.

`Speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Ye are holy, for holy I, Jehovah, your God.

3 “ Respeite cada um de vocês a sua mãe e o seu pai, e guarde os meus sábados. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

`Each his mother and his father ye do fear, and My sabbaths ye do keep; I Jehovah your God.

4 “ Não se voltem para os ídolos, nem façam para si deuses de metal. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

`Ye do not turn unto the idols, and a molten god ye do not make to yourselves; I Jehovah your God.

5 “ Quando vocês oferecerem um sacrifício de comunhão ao Senhor, ofereçam-no de modo que seja aceito em favor de vocês.

`And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, at your pleasure ye do sacrifice it;

6 T erá que ser comido no dia em que o oferecerem, ou no dia seguinte; o que sobrar até o terceiro dia será queimado.

in the day of your sacrificing it is eaten, and on the morrow, and that which is left unto the third day with fire is burnt,

7 S e alguma coisa for comida no terceiro dia, estará estragada e não será aceita.

and if it be really eaten on the third day, it an abomination, it is not pleasing,

8 Q uem a comer sofrerá as conseqüências da sua iniqüidade, porque profanou o que é santo ao Senhor; será eliminado do meio do seu povo.

and he who is eating it his iniquity doth bear, for the holy thing of Jehovah he hath polluted, and that person hath been cut off from his people.

9 “ Quando fizerem a colheita da sua terra, não colham até as extremidades da sua lavoura, nem ajuntem as espigas caídas de sua colheita.

`And in your reaping the harvest of your land ye do not completely reap the corner of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou dost not gather,

10 N ão passem duas vezes pela sua vinha, nem apanhem as uvas que tiverem caído. Deixem-nas para o necessitado e para o estrangeiro. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

and thy vineyard thou dost not glean, even the omitted part of thy vineyard thou dost not gather, to the poor and to the sojourner thou dost leave them; I Jehovah your God.

11 “ Não furtem. “Não mintam. “Não enganem uns aos outros.

`Ye do not steal, nor feign, nor lie one against his fellow.

12 “ Não jurem falsamente pelo meu nome, profanando assim o nome do seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.

`And ye do not swear by My name to falsehood, or thou hast polluted the name of thy God; I Jehovah.

13 “ Não oprimam nem roubem o seu próximo. “Não retenham até a manhã do dia seguinte o pagamento de um diarista.

`Thou dost not oppress thy neighbour, nor take plunder; the wages of the hireling doth not remain with thee till morning.

14 “ Não amaldiçoem o surdo nem ponham pedra de tropeço à frente do cego, mas temam o seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.

`Thou dost not revile the deaf; and before the blind thou dost not put a stumbling block; and thou hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

15 “ Não cometam injustiça num julgamento; não favoreçam os pobres, nem procurem agradar os grandes, mas julguem o seu próximo com justiça.

`Ye do not do perversity in judgment; thou dost not lift up the face of the poor, nor honour the face of the great; in righteousness thou dost judge thy fellow.

16 “ Não espalhem calúnias entre o seu povo. “Não se levantem contra a vida do seu próximo. Eu sou o Senhor.

`Thou dost not go slandering among thy people; thou dost not stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I Jehovah.

17 “ Não guardem ódio contra o seu irmão no coração; antes repreendam com franqueza o seu próximo para que, por causa dele, não sofram as conseqüências de um pecado.

`Thou dost not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou dost certainly reprove thy fellow, and not suffer sin on him.

18 “ Não procurem vingança, nem guardem rancor contra alguém do seu povo, mas ame cada um o seu próximo como a si mesmo. Eu sou o Senhor.

`Thou dost not take vengeance, nor watch the sons of thy people; and thou hast had love to thy neighbour as thyself; I Jehovah.

19 “ Obedeçam às minhas leis. “Não cruzem diferentes espécies de animais. “Não plantem duas espécies de sementes na sua lavoura. “Não usem roupas feitas com dois tipos de tecido.

`My statutes ye do keep: thy cattle thou dost not cause to gender diverse kinds; thy field thou dost not sow with diverse kinds, and a garment of diverse kinds, shaatnez, doth not go up upon thee.

20 “ Se um homem deitar-se com uma escrava prometida a outro homem, mas que não tenha sido resgatada nem tenha recebido sua liberdade, aplique-se a devida punição. Contudo não serão mortos, porquanto ela não havia sido libertada.

`And when a man lieth with a woman with seed of copulation, and she a maid-servant, betrothed to a man, and not really ransomed, or freedom hath not been given to her, an investigation there is; they are not put to death, for she not free.

21 O homem, porém, trará ao Senhor, à entrada da Tenda do Encontro, um carneiro como oferta pela culpa.

`And he hath brought in his guilt-offering to Jehovah, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, a ram a guilt-offering,

22 C om o carneiro da oferta pela culpa o sacerdote fará propiciação por ele perante o Senhor, pelo pecado que cometeu; assim o pecado que ele cometeu será perdoado.

and the priest hath made atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering before Jehovah, for his sin which he hath sinned, and it hath been forgiven him because of his sin which he hath sinned.

23 “ Quando vocês entrarem na terra e plantarem qualquer tipo de árvore frutífera, considerem proibidas as suas frutas. Durante três anos vocês as considerarão proibidas; não poderão comê-las.

`And when ye come in unto the land, and have planted all of trees food, then ye have reckoned as uncircumcised its fruit, three years it is to you uncircumcised, it is not eaten,

24 N o quarto ano todas as suas frutas serão santas; será uma oferta de louvor ao Senhor.

and in the fourth year all its fruit is holy -- praises for Jehovah.

25 N o quinto ano, porém, vocês poderão comer as suas frutas. Assim a sua colheita aumentará. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

And in the fifth year ye do eat its fruit -- to add to you its increase; I Jehovah your God.

26 “ Não comam nada com sangue. “Não pratiquem adivinhação nem feitiçaria.

`Ye do not eat with the blood; ye do not enchant, nor observe clouds.

27 “ Não cortem o cabelo dos lados da cabeça, nem aparem as pontas da barba.

`Ye do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of thy beard.

28 “ Não façam cortes no corpo por causa dos mortos, nem tatuagens em si mesmos. Eu sou o Senhor.

`And a cutting for the soul ye do not put in your flesh; and a writing, a cross-mark, ye do not put on you; I Jehovah.

29 “ Ninguém desonre a sua filha tornando-a uma prostituta, se não, a terra se entregará à prostituição e se encherá de perversidade.

`Thou dost not pollute thy daughter to cause her to go a-whoring, that the land go not a-whoring, and the land hath been full of wickedness.

30 “ Guardem os meus sábados e reverenciem o meu santuário. Eu sou o Senhor.

`My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I Jehovah.

31 “ Não recorram aos médiuns, nem busquem a quem consulta espíritos, pois vocês serão contaminados por eles. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

`Ye do not turn unto those having familiar spirits; and unto wizards ye do not seek, for uncleanness by them; I Jehovah your God.

32 “ Levantem-se na presença dos idosos, honrem os anciãos, temam o seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.

`At the presence of grey hairs thou dost rise up, and thou hast honoured the presence of an old man, and hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

33 “ Quando um estrangeiro viver na terra de vocês, não o maltratem.

`And when a sojourner sojourneth with thee in your land, thou dost not oppress him;

34 O estrangeiro residente que viver com vocês deverá ser tratado como o natural da terra. Amem-no como a si mesmos, pois vocês foram estrangeiros no Egito. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês.

as a native among you is the sojourner to you who is sojourning with you, and thou hast had love to him as to thyself, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt; I Jehovah your God.

35 “ Não usem medidas desonestas quando medirem comprimento, peso ou quantidade.

`Ye do not do perversity in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in liquid measure;

36 U sem balanças de pesos honestos, tanto para cereais quanto para líquidos. Eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, que os tirei da terra do Egito.

righteous balances, righteous weights, a righteous ephah, and a righteous hin ye have; I Jehovah your God, who hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

37 “ Obedeçam a todos os meus decretos e a todas as minhas leis e pratiquem-nos. Eu sou o Senhor ”.

and ye have observed all my statutes, and all my judgments, and have done them; I Jehovah.'
