1 “ No final de cada sete anos as dívidas deverão ser canceladas.

`At the end of seven years thou dost make a release,

2 I sso deverá ser feito da seguinte forma: todo credor cancelará o empréstimo que fez ao seu próximo. Nenhum israelita exigirá pagamento de seu próximo ou de seu parente, porque foi proclamado o tempo do Senhor para o cancelamento das dívidas.

and this the matter of the release: Every owner of a loan to release his hand which he doth lift up against his neighbour, he doth not exact of his neighbour and of his brother, but hath proclaimed a release to Jehovah;

3 V ocês poderão exigir pagamento do estrangeiro, mas terão que cancelar qualquer dívida de seus irmãos israelitas.

of the stranger thou mayest exact, and that which is thine with thy brother doth thy hand release;

4 A ssim, não deverá haver pobre algum no meio de vocês, pois na terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes está dando como herança para que dela tomem posse, ele os abençoará ricamente,

only when there is no needy one with thee, for Jehovah doth greatly bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- an inheritance to possess it.

5 c ontanto que obedeçam em tudo ao Senhor, o seu Deus, e ponham em prática toda esta lei que hoje lhes estou dando.

`Only, if thou dost diligently hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all this command which I am commanding thee to-day,

6 P ois o Senhor, o seu Deus, os abençoará conforme prometeu, e vocês emprestarão a muitas nações, mas de nenhuma tomarão emprestado. Vocês dominarão muitas nações, mas por nenhuma serão dominados.

for Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee as He hath spoken to thee; and thou hast lent many nations, and thou hast not borrowed; and thou hast ruled over many nations, and over thee they do not rule.

7 “ Se houver algum israelita pobre em qualquer das cidades da terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes está dando, não endureçam o coração, nem fechem a mão para com o seu irmão pobre.

`When there is with thee any needy one of one of thy brethren, in one of thy cities, in thy land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, thou dost not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy needy brother;

8 A o contrário, tenham mão aberta e emprestem-lhe liberalmente o que ele precisar.

for thou dost certainly open thy hand to him, and dost certainly lend him sufficient for his lack which he lacketh.

9 C uidado! Que nenhum de vocês alimente este pensamento ímpio: ‘O sétimo ano, o ano do cancelamento das dívidas, está se aproximando, e não quero ajudar o meu irmão pobre’. Ele poderá apelar para o Senhor contra você, e você será culpado desse pecado.

`Take heed to thee lest there be a word in thy heart -- worthless, saying, Near the seventh year, the year of release; and thine eye is evil against thy needy brother, and thou dost not give to him, and he hath called concerning thee unto Jehovah, and it hath been in thee sin;

10 D ê-lhe generosamente, e sem relutância no coração; pois, por isso, o Senhor, o seu Deus, o abençoará em todo o seu trabalho e em tudo o que você fizer.

thou dost certainly give to him, and thy heart is not sad in thy giving to him, for because of this thing doth Jehovah thy God bless thee in all thy works, and in every putting forth of thy hand;

11 S empre haverá pobres na terra. Portanto, eu lhe ordeno que abra o coração para o seu irmão israelita, tanto para o pobre como para o necessitado de sua terra. A Libertação de Escravos

because the needy one doth not cease out of the land, therefore I am commanding thee, saying, Thou dost certainly open thy hand to thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy one, in thy land.

12 “ Se seu compatriota hebreu, homem ou mulher, vender-se a você e servi-lo seis anos, no sétimo ano dê-lhe a liberdade.

`When thy brother is sold to thee, a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, and he hath served thee six years -- then in the seventh year thou dost send him away free from thee.

13 E , quando o fizer, não o mande embora de mãos vazias.

And when thou dost send him away free from thee, thou dost not send him away empty;

14 D ê-lhe com generosidade dos animais do seu rebanho e do produto da sua eira e do seu tanque de prensar uvas. Dê-lhe conforme a bênção que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhe tem dado.

thou dost certainly encircle him out of thy flock, and out of thy threshing-floor, and out of thy wine-vat; that which Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee thou dost give to him,

15 L embre-se de que você foi escravo no Egito e que o Senhor, o seu Deus, o redimiu. É por isso que hoje lhe dou essa ordem.

and thou hast remembered that a servant thou hast been in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah thy God doth ransom thee; therefore I am commanding thee this thing to-day.

16 “ Mas se o seu escravo lhe disser que não quer deixá-lo, porque ama você e sua família e não tem falta de nada,

`And it hath been, when he saith unto thee, I go not out from thee -- because he hath loved thee, and thy house, because good for him with thee --

17 e ntão apanhe um furador e fure a orelha dele contra a porta, e ele se tornará seu escravo para o resto da vida. Faça o mesmo com a sua escrava.

then thou hast taken the awl, and hast put through his ear, and through the door, and he hath been to thee a servant age-during; and also to thy handmaid thou dost do so.

18 “ Não se sinta prejudicado ao libertar o seu escravo, pois o serviço que ele prestou a você nesses seis anos custou a metade do serviço de um trabalhador contratado. Além disso, o Senhor, o seu Deus, o abençoará em tudo o que você fizer. As Primeiras Crias

`It is not hard in thine eyes, in thy sending him away free from thee; for the double of the hire of an hireling he hath served thee six years, and Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all that thou dost.

19 “ Separe para o Senhor, o seu Deus, todo primeiro macho de todos os seus rebanhos. Não use a primeira cria das suas vacas para trabalhar, nem tosquie a primeira cria das suas ovelhas.

`Every firstling that is born in thy herd and in thy flock -- the male thou dost sanctify to Jehovah thy God; thou dost not work with the firstling of thine ox, nor shear the firstling of thy flock;

20 T odo ano você e a sua família as comerão na presença do Senhor, o seu Deus, no local que ele escolher.

before Jehovah thy God thou dost eat it year by year, in the place which Jehovah doth choose, thou and thy house.

21 S e o animal tiver defeito, ou for manco ou cego, ou tiver qualquer outro defeito grave, você não poderá sacrificá-lo ao Senhor, o seu Deus.

`And when there is in it a blemish, lame, or blind, any evil blemish, thou dost not sacrifice it to Jehovah thy God;

22 C oma-o na cidade onde estiver morando. Tanto o cerimonialmente impuro quanto o puro o comerão, como se come a carne da gazela ou do veado.

within thy gates thou dost eat it, the unclean and the clean alike, as the roe, and as the hart.

23 M as não poderá comer o sangue; derrame-o no chão como se fosse água.

Only, its blood thou dost not eat; on the earth thou dost pour it as water.
