1 A quele que habita no abrigo do Altíssimo e descansa à sombra do Todo-poderoso

He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, In the shade of the Mighty lodgeth habitually,

2 p ode dizer ao Senhor: “Tu és o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, o meu Deus, em quem confio”.

He is saying of Jehovah, `My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,'

3 E le o livrará do laço do caçador e do veneno mortal.

For He delivereth thee from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.

4 E le o cobrirá com as suas penas, e sob as suas asas você encontrará refúgio; a fidelidade dele será o seu escudo protetor.

With His pinion He covereth thee over, And under His wings thou dost trust, A shield and buckler His truth.

5 V ocê não temerá o pavor da noite, nem a flecha que voa de dia,

Thou art not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flieth by day,

6 n em a peste que se move sorrateira nas trevas, nem a praga que devasta ao meio-dia.

Of pestilence in thick darkness that walketh, Of destruction that destroyeth at noon,

7 M il poderão cair ao seu lado, dez mil à sua direita, mas nada o atingirá.

There fall at thy side a thousand, And a myriad at thy right hand, Unto thee it cometh not nigh.

8 V ocê simplesmente olhará, e verá o castigo dos ímpios.

But with thine eyes thou lookest, And the reward of the wicked thou seest,

9 S e você fizer do Altíssimo o seu abrigo, do Senhor o seu refúgio,

(For Thou, O Jehovah, my refuge,) The Most High thou madest thy habitation.

10 n enhum mal o atingirá, desgraça alguma chegará à sua tenda.

Evil happeneth not unto thee, And a plague cometh not near thy tent,

11 P orque a seus anjos ele dará ordens a seu respeito, para que o protejam em todos os seus caminhos;

For His messengers He chargeth for thee, To keep thee in all thy ways,

12 c om as mãos eles o segurarão, para que você não tropece em alguma pedra.

On the hands they bear thee up, Lest thou smite against a stone thy foot.

13 V ocê pisará o leão e a cobra; pisoteará o leão forte e a serpente.

On lion and asp thou treadest, Thou trampest young lion and dragon.

14 “ Porque ele me ama, eu o resgatarei; eu o protegerei, pois conhece o meu nome.

Because in Me he hath delighted, I also deliver him -- I set him on high, Because he hath known My name.

15 E le clamará a mim, e eu lhe darei resposta, e na adversidade estarei com ele; vou livrá-lo e cobri-lo de honra.

He doth call Me, and I answer him, I with him in distress, I deliver him, and honour him.

16 V ida longa eu lhe darei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.”

With length of days I satisfy him, And I cause him to look on My salvation!
