1 E ele me disse: “Filho do homem, coma este rolo; depois vá falar à nação de Israel”.

And He saith unto me, `Son of man, that which thou findest eat, eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.'

2 E u abri a boca, e ele me deu o rolo para eu comer.

And I open my mouth, and He causeth me to eat this roll.

3 E acrescentou: “Filho do homem, coma este rolo que estou lhe dando e encha o seu estômago com ele”. Então eu o comi, e em minha boca era doce como mel.

And He saith unto me, `Son of man, thy belly thou dost feed, and thy bowels thou dost fill with this roll that I am giving unto thee;' and I eat it, and it is in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 D epois ele me disse: “Filho do homem, vá agora à nação de Israel e diga-lhe as minhas palavras.

And He saith unto me, `Son of man, go, enter in unto the house of Israel, and thou hast spoken with My words unto them.

5 V ocê não está sendo enviado a um povo de fala obscura e de língua difícil, mas à nação de Israel;

For, not unto a people deep of lip and heavy of tongue thou sent -- unto the house of Israel;

6 n ão irá a muitos povos de fala obscura e de língua difícil, cujas palavras você não conseguiria entender. Certamente, se eu o enviasse, eles o ouviriam.

not unto many peoples, deep of lip and heavy of tongue, whose words thou dost not understand. If I had not sent thee unto them -- they, they do hearken unto thee,

7 M as a nação de Israel não vai querer ouvi-lo porque não quer me ouvir, pois toda a nação de Israel está endurecida e obstinada.

but the house of Israel are not willing to hearken unto thee, for they are not willing to hearken unto Me, for all the house of Israel are brazen-faced and strong-hearted.

8 P orém eu tornarei você tão inflexível e endurecido quanto eles.

`Lo, I have made thy face strong against their face, and thy forehead strong against their forehead.

9 T ornarei a sua testa como a mais dura das pedras, mais dura que a pederneira. Não tenha medo deles, nem fique apavorado ao vê-los, embora sejam uma nação rebelde”.

As an adamant harder than a rock I have made thy forehead; thou dost not fear them, nor art thou affrighted before them, for a rebellious house they.'

10 E continuou: “Filho do homem, ouça atentamente e guarde no coração todas as palavras que eu lhe disser.

And He saith unto me, `Son of man, all My words, that I speak unto thee, receive with thy heart, and with thine ears hear;

11 V á agora aos seus compatriotas que estão no exílio e fale com eles. Diga-lhes, quer ouçam quer deixem de ouvir: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor ”.

and go, enter in unto the Removed, unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast spoken unto them, and hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: whether they hear, or whether they forbear.'

12 D epois o Espírito elevou-me, e ouvi esta estrondosa aclamação: “Que a glória do Senhor seja louvada em sua habitação!”

And lift me up doth a spirit, and I hear behind me a noise, a great rushing -- `Blessed the honour of Jehovah from His place!' --

13 E ouvi o som das asas dos seres viventes roçando umas nas outras e, atrás deles, o som das rodas — um forte estrondo!

even a noise of the wings of the living creatures touching one another, and a noise of the wheels over-against them, even a noise of a great rushing.

14 E ntão o Espírito elevou-me e tirou-me de lá, com o meu espírito cheio de amargura e de ira, e com a forte mão do Senhor sobre mim.

And a spirit hath lifted me up, and doth take me away, and I go bitterly, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Jehovah on me strong.

15 F ui aos exilados que moravam em Tel-Abibe, perto do rio Quebar. Sete dias fiquei lá entre eles — atônito! Advertência a Israel

And I come in unto the Removed, at Tel-Ahib, who are dwelling at the river Chebar, and where they are dwelling I also dwell seven days, causing astonishment in their midst.

16 A o fim dos sete dias a palavra do Senhor veio a mim:

And it cometh to pass, at the end of seven days,

17 “ Filho do homem”, disse ele, “eu o fiz sentinela para a nação de Israel; por isso ouça a palavra que digo e leve a eles a minha advertência.

that there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given thee to the house of Israel, and thou hast heard from My mouth a word, and hast warned them from Me.

18 Q uando eu disser a um ímpio que ele vai morrer, e você não o advertir nem lhe falar para dissuadi-lo dos seus maus caminhos para salvar a vida dele, aquele ímpio morrerá por sua iniqüidade; mas para mim você será responsável pela morte dele.

In My saying to the wicked: Thou dost surely die; and thou hast not warned him, nor hast spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he doth live; he -- the wicked -- in his iniquity dieth, and his blood from thy hand I require.

19 S e, porém, você advertir o ímpio e ele não se desviar de sua impiedade ou dos seus maus caminhos, ele morrerá por sua iniqüidade, mas você estará livre dessa culpa.

And thou, because thou hast warned the wicked, and he hath not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dieth, and thou thy soul hast delivered.

20 “ Da mesma forma, quando um justo se desviar de sua justiça e fizer o mal, e eu puser uma pedra de tropeço diante dele, ele morrerá. Uma vez que você não o advertiu, ele morrerá pelo pecado que cometeu. As práticas justas dele não serão lembradas; para mim, porém, você será responsável pela morte dele.

`And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, and he hath done perversity, and I have put a stumbling-block before him, he dieth; because thou hast not warned him, in his sin he dieth, and not remembered is his righteousness that he hath done, and his blood from thy hand I require.

21 S e, porém, você advertir o justo e ele não pecar, certamente ele viverá porque aceitou a advertência, e você estará livre dessa culpa”.

And thou, because thou hast warned him -- the righteous -- that the righteous sin not, and he hath not sinned, he surely liveth, because he hath been warned; and thou thy soul hast delivered.'

22 A mão do Senhor esteve ali sobre mim, e ele me disse: “Levante-se e vá para a planície, e lá falarei com você”.

And there is on me there a hand of Jehovah, and He saith to me, `Rise, go forth to the valley, and there I do speak with thee.'

23 E ntão me levantei e fui para a planície. E lá estava a glória do Senhor, glória como a que eu tinha visto junto ao rio Quebar. Prostrei-me, rosto em terra,

And I rise and go forth unto the valley, and lo, there the honour of Jehovah is standing as the honour that I had seen by the river Chebar, and I fall on my face.

24 m as o Espírito entrou em mim e me pôs em pé. Ele me disse: “Vá para casa e tranque-se.

And come into me doth a spirit, and causeth me to stand on my feet, and He speaketh with me, and saith unto me, `Go in, be shut up in the midst of thy house.

25 P ois você, filho do homem, será amarrado com cordas; você ficará preso, e não conseguirá sair para o meio do povo.

`And thou, son of man, lo, they have put on thee thick bands, and have bound thee with them, and thou goest not forth in their midst;

26 F arei sua língua apegar-se ao céu da boca para que você fique calado e não possa repreendê-los, embora sejam uma nação rebelde.

and thy tongue I cause to cleave unto thy palate, and thou hast been dumb, and art not to them for a reprover, for a rebellious house they.

27 M as, quando eu falar com você, abrirei sua boca e você lhes dirá: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor. Quem quiser ouvir ouça, e quem não quiser não ouça; pois são uma nação rebelde.

And in My speaking with thee, I do open thy mouth, and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah; the hearer doth hear, and the forbearer doth forbear; for a rebellious house they.
