2 N ão é bom ter zelo sem conhecimento, nem ser precipitado e perder o caminho.

Also, without knowledge the soul not good, And the hasty in feet is sinning.

3 É a insensatez do homem que arruína a sua vida, mas o seu coração se ira contra o Senhor.

The folly of man perverteth his way, And against Jehovah is his heart wroth.

4 A riqueza traz muitos amigos, mas até o amigo do pobre o abandona.

Wealth addeth many friends, And the poor from his neighbour is separated.

5 A testemunha falsa não ficará sem castigo, e aquele que despeja mentiras não sairá livre.

A false witness is not acquitted, Whoso breatheth out lies is not delivered.

6 M uitos adulam o governante, e todos são amigos de quem dá presentes.

Many entreat the face of the noble, And all have made friendship to a man of gifts.

7 O pobre é desprezado por todos os seus parentes, quanto mais por seus amigos! Embora os procure, para pedir-lhes ajuda, não os encontra em lugar nenhum.

All the brethren of the poor have hated him, Surely also his friends have been far from him, He is pursuing words -- they are not!

8 Q uem obtém sabedoria ama-se a si mesmo; quem acalenta o entendimento prospera.

Whoso is getting heart is loving his soul, He is keeping understanding to find good.

9 A testemunha falsa não ficará sem castigo, e aquele que despeja mentiras perecerá.

A false witness is not acquitted, And whoso breatheth out lies perisheth.

10 N ão fica bem o tolo viver no luxo; quanto pior é o servo dominar príncipes!

Luxury is not comely for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule among princes.

11 A sabedoria do homem lhe dá paciência; sua glória é ignorar as ofensas.

The wisdom of a man hath deferred his anger, And his glory to pass over transgression.

12 A ira do rei é como o rugido do leão, mas a sua bondade é como o orvalho sobre a relva.

The wrath of a king a growl as of a young lion, And as dew on the herb his good-will.

13 O filho tolo é a ruína de seu pai, e a esposa briguenta é como uma goteira constante.

A calamity to his father a foolish son, And the contentions of a wife a continual dropping.

14 C asas e riquezas herdam-se dos pais, mas a esposa prudente vem do Senhor.

House and wealth the inheritance of fathers, And from Jehovah an understanding wife.

15 A preguiça leva ao sono profundo, e o preguiçoso passa fome.

Sloth causeth deep sleep to fall, And an indolent soul doth hunger.

16 Q uem obedece aos mandamentos preserva a sua vida, mas quem despreza os seus caminhos morrerá.

Whoso is keeping the command is keeping his soul, Whoso is despising His ways dieth.

17 Q uem trata bem os pobres empresta ao Senhor, e ele o recompensará.

Whoso is lending Jehovah is favouring the poor, And his deed He repayeth to him.

18 D iscipline seu filho, pois nisso há esperança; não queira a morte dele.

Chastise thy son, for there is hope, And to put him to death lift not up thy soul.

19 O homem de gênio difícil precisa do castigo; se você o poupar, terá que poupá-lo de novo.

A man of great wrath is bearing punishment, For, if thou dost deliver, yet again thou dost add.

20 O uça conselhos e aceite instruções, e acabará sendo sábio.

Hear counsel and receive instruction, So that thou art wise in thy latter end.

21 M uitos são os planos no coração do homem, mas o que prevalece é o propósito do Senhor.

Many the purposes in a man's heart, And the counsel of Jehovah it standeth.

22 O que se deseja ver num homem é amor perene; melhor é ser pobre do que mentiroso.

The desirableness of a man his kindness, And better the poor than a liar.

23 O temor do Senhor conduz à vida: quem o teme pode descansar em paz, livre de problemas.

The fear of Jehovah to life, And satisfied he remaineth -- he is not charged with evil.

24 O preguiçoso põe a mão no prato, e não se dá ao trabalho de levá-la à boca!

The slothful hath hidden his hand in a dish, Even unto his mouth he bringeth it not back.

25 A çoite o zombador, e os inexperientes aprenderão a prudência; repreenda o homem de discernimento, e ele obterá conhecimento.

A scorner smite, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understandeth knowledge.

26 O filho que rouba o pai e expulsa a mãe é causador de vergonha e desonra.

Whoso is spoiling a father causeth a mother to flee, A son causing shame, and bringing confusion.

27 S e você parar de ouvir a instrução, meu filho, irá afastar-se das palavras que dão conhecimento.

Cease, my son, to hear instruction -- To err from sayings of knowledge.

28 A testemunha corrupta zomba da justiça, e a boca dos ímpios tem fome de iniqüidade.

A worthless witness scorneth judgment, And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity.

29 O s castigos estão preparados para os zombadores, e os açoites para as costas dos tolos.

Judgments have been prepared for scorners, And stripes for the back of fools!
