1 U nd der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 R ede mit der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr sollt heilig sein; denn ich bin heilig, der HERR, euer Gott.

`Speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Ye are holy, for holy I, Jehovah, your God.

3 E in jeglicher fürchte seine Mutter und seinen Vater. Haltet meine Feiertage; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.

`Each his mother and his father ye do fear, and My sabbaths ye do keep; I Jehovah your God.

4 I hr sollt euch nicht zu den Götzen wenden und sollt euch keine gegossenen Götter machen; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.

`Ye do not turn unto the idols, and a molten god ye do not make to yourselves; I Jehovah your God.

5 U nd wenn ihr dem HERRN wollt ein Dankopfer tun, so sollt ihr es opfern, daß es ihm gefallen könnte.

`And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, at your pleasure ye do sacrifice it;

6 I hr sollt es desselben Tages essen, da ihr's opfert, und des andern Tages; was aber auf den dritten Tag übrigbleibt, soll man mit Feuer verbrennen.

in the day of your sacrificing it is eaten, and on the morrow, and that which is left unto the third day with fire is burnt,

7 W ird aber jemand am dritten Tage davon essen, so ist er ein Greuel und wird nicht angenehm sein.

and if it be really eaten on the third day, it an abomination, it is not pleasing,

8 U nd der Esser wird seine Missetat tragen, darum daß er das Heiligtum des HERRN entheiligte, und solche Seele wird ausgerottet werden von ihrem Volk.

and he who is eating it his iniquity doth bear, for the holy thing of Jehovah he hath polluted, and that person hath been cut off from his people.

9 W enn du dein Land einerntest, sollst du nicht alles bis an die Enden umher abschneiden, auch nicht alles genau aufsammeln.

`And in your reaping the harvest of your land ye do not completely reap the corner of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou dost not gather,

10 A lso auch sollst du deinen Weinberg nicht genau lesen noch die abgefallenen Beeren auflesen, sondern dem Armen und Fremdling sollst du es lassen; denn ich bin der HERR euer Gott.

and thy vineyard thou dost not glean, even the omitted part of thy vineyard thou dost not gather, to the poor and to the sojourner thou dost leave them; I Jehovah your God.

11 I hr sollt nicht stehlen noch lügen noch fälschlich handeln einer mit dem andern.

`Ye do not steal, nor feign, nor lie one against his fellow.

12 I hr sollt nicht falsch schwören bei meinem Namen und entheiligen den Namen deines Gottes; denn ich bin der HERR.

`And ye do not swear by My name to falsehood, or thou hast polluted the name of thy God; I Jehovah.

13 D u sollst deinem Nächsten nicht unrecht tun noch ihn berauben. Es soll des Tagelöhners Lohn nicht bei dir bleiben bis an den Morgen.

`Thou dost not oppress thy neighbour, nor take plunder; the wages of the hireling doth not remain with thee till morning.

14 D u sollst dem Tauben nicht fluchen und sollst dem Blinden keinen Anstoß setzen; denn du sollst dich vor deinem Gott fürchten, denn ich bin der HERR.

`Thou dost not revile the deaf; and before the blind thou dost not put a stumbling block; and thou hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

15 I hr sollt nicht unrecht handeln im Gericht, und sollst nicht vorziehen den Geringen noch den Großen ehren; sondern du sollst deinen Nächsten recht richten.

`Ye do not do perversity in judgment; thou dost not lift up the face of the poor, nor honour the face of the great; in righteousness thou dost judge thy fellow.

16 D u sollst kein Verleumder sein unter deinem Volk. Du sollst auch nicht stehen wider deines Nächsten Blut; denn ich bin der HERR.

`Thou dost not go slandering among thy people; thou dost not stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I Jehovah.

17 D u sollst deinen Bruder nicht hassen in deinem Herzen, sondern du sollst deinen Nächsten zurechtweisen, auf daß du nicht seineshalben Schuld tragen müssest.

`Thou dost not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou dost certainly reprove thy fellow, and not suffer sin on him.

18 D u sollst nicht rachgierig sein noch Zorn halten gegen die Kinder deines Volks. Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst; denn ich bin der HERR.

`Thou dost not take vengeance, nor watch the sons of thy people; and thou hast had love to thy neighbour as thyself; I Jehovah.

19 M eine Satzungen sollt ihr halten, daß du dein Vieh nicht lassest mit anderlei Tier zu schaffen haben und dein Feld nicht besäest mit mancherlei Samen und kein Kleid an dich komme, daß mit Wolle und Leinen gemengt ist.

`My statutes ye do keep: thy cattle thou dost not cause to gender diverse kinds; thy field thou dost not sow with diverse kinds, and a garment of diverse kinds, shaatnez, doth not go up upon thee.

20 W enn ein Mann bei einem Weibe liegt, die eine leibeigene Magd und von dem Mann verschmäht ist, doch nicht erlöst noch Freiheit erlangt hat, das soll gestraft werden; aber sie sollen nicht sterben, denn sie ist nicht frei gewesen.

`And when a man lieth with a woman with seed of copulation, and she a maid-servant, betrothed to a man, and not really ransomed, or freedom hath not been given to her, an investigation there is; they are not put to death, for she not free.

21 E r soll aber für seine Schuld dem HERRN vor die Tür der Hütte des Stifts einen Widder zum Schuldopfer bringen;

`And he hath brought in his guilt-offering to Jehovah, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, a ram a guilt-offering,

22 u nd der Priester soll ihn versöhnen mit dem Schuldopfer vor dem HERRN über die Sünde, die er getan hat, so wird ihm Gott gnädig sein über seine Sünde, die er getan hat.

and the priest hath made atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering before Jehovah, for his sin which he hath sinned, and it hath been forgiven him because of his sin which he hath sinned.

23 W enn ihr in das Land kommt und allerlei Bäume pflanzt, davon man ißt, sollt ihr mit seinen Früchten tun wie mit einer Vorhaut. Drei Jahre sollt ihr sie unbeschnitten achten, daß ihr sie nicht esset;

`And when ye come in unto the land, and have planted all of trees food, then ye have reckoned as uncircumcised its fruit, three years it is to you uncircumcised, it is not eaten,

24 i m vierten Jahr aber sollen alle ihre Früchte heilig sein, ein Preisopfer dem HERRN;

and in the fourth year all its fruit is holy -- praises for Jehovah.

25 i m fünften Jahr aber sollt ihr die Früchte essen und sie einsammeln; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.

And in the fifth year ye do eat its fruit -- to add to you its increase; I Jehovah your God.

26 I hr sollt nichts vom Blut essen. Ihr sollt nicht auf Vogelgeschrei achten noch Tage wählen.

`Ye do not eat with the blood; ye do not enchant, nor observe clouds.

27 I hr sollt euer Haar am Haupt nicht rundumher abschneiden noch euren Bart gar abscheren.

`Ye do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of thy beard.

28 I hr sollt kein Mal um eines Toten willen an eurem Leibe reißen noch Buchstaben an euch ätzen; denn ich bin der HERR.

`And a cutting for the soul ye do not put in your flesh; and a writing, a cross-mark, ye do not put on you; I Jehovah.

29 D u sollst deine Tochter nicht zur Hurerei halten, daß nicht das Land Hurerei treibe und werde voll Lasters.

`Thou dost not pollute thy daughter to cause her to go a-whoring, that the land go not a-whoring, and the land hath been full of wickedness.

30 M eine Feiertage haltet, und fürchtet euch vor meinem Heiligtum; denn ich bin der HERR.

`My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I Jehovah.

31 I hr sollt euch nicht wenden zu den Wahrsagern, und forscht nicht von den Zeichendeutern, daß ihr nicht an ihnen verunreinigt werdet; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.

`Ye do not turn unto those having familiar spirits; and unto wizards ye do not seek, for uncleanness by them; I Jehovah your God.

32 V or einem grauen Haupt sollst du aufstehen und die Alten ehren; denn du sollst dich fürchten vor deinem Gott, denn ich bin der HERR.

`At the presence of grey hairs thou dost rise up, and thou hast honoured the presence of an old man, and hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

33 W enn ein Fremdling bei dir in eurem Lande wohnen wird, den sollt ihr nicht schinden.

`And when a sojourner sojourneth with thee in your land, thou dost not oppress him;

34 E r soll bei euch wohnen wie ein Einheimischer unter euch, und sollst ihn lieben wie dich selbst; denn ihr seid auch Fremdlinge gewesen in Ägyptenland. Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.

as a native among you is the sojourner to you who is sojourning with you, and thou hast had love to him as to thyself, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt; I Jehovah your God.

35 I hr sollt nicht unrecht handeln im Gericht mit der Elle, mit Gewicht, mit Maß.

`Ye do not do perversity in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in liquid measure;

36 R echte Waage, rechte Pfunde, rechte Scheffel, rechte Kannen sollen bei euch sein; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott, der euch aus Ägyptenland geführt hat,

righteous balances, righteous weights, a righteous ephah, and a righteous hin ye have; I Jehovah your God, who hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

37 d aß ihr alle meine Satzungen und alle meine Rechte haltet und tut; denn ich bin der HERR.

and ye have observed all my statutes, and all my judgments, and have done them; I Jehovah.'
