1 ( Des Salomo.) Gott, gib dein Gericht dem König und deine Gerechtigkeit des Königs Sohne,

By Solomon. O God, Thy judgments to the king give, And Thy righteousness to the king's son.

2 d aß er dein Volk richte mit Gerechtigkeit und deine Elenden rette.

He judgeth Thy people with righteousness, And Thy poor with judgment.

3 L aß die Berge den Frieden bringen unter das Volk und die Hügel die Gerechtigkeit.

The mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.

4 E r wird das elende Volk bei Recht erhalten und den Armen helfen und die Lästerer zermalmen.

He judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.

5 M an wird dich fürchten, solange die Sonne und der Mond währt, von Kind zu Kindeskindern.

They fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation -- generations.

6 E r wird herabfahren wie der Regen auf die Aue, wie die Tropfen, die das Land feuchten.

He cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers -- sprinkling the earth.

7 Z u seinen Zeiten wird erblühen der Gerechte und großer Friede, bis daß der Mond nimmer sei.

Flourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.

8 E r wird herrschen von einem Meer bis ans andere und von dem Strom an bis zu der Welt Enden.

And he ruleth from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.

9 V or ihm werden sich neigen die in der Wüste, und seine Feinde werden Staub lecken.

Before him bow do the inhabitants of the dry places, And his enemies lick the dust.

10 D ie Könige zu Tharsis und auf den Inseln werden Geschenke bringen; die Könige aus Reicharabien und Seba werden Gaben zuführen.

Kings of Tarshish and of the isles send back a present. Kings of Sheba and Seba a reward bring near.

11 A lle Könige werden ihn anbeten; alle Heiden werden ihm dienen.

And all kings do bow themselves to him, All nations do serve him,

12 D enn er wird den Armen erretten, der da schreit, und den Elenden, der keinen Helfer hat.

For he delivereth the needy who crieth, And the poor when he hath no helper,

13 E r wird gnädig sein den Geringen und Armen, und den Seelen der Armen wird er helfen.

He hath pity on the poor and needy, And the souls of the needy he saveth,

14 E r wird ihre Seele aus dem Trug und Frevel erlösen, und ihr Blut wird teuer geachtet werden vor ihm.

From fraud and from violence he redeemeth their soul, And precious is their blood in his eyes.

15 E r wird leben, und man wird ihm von Gold aus Reicharabien geben. Und man wird immerdar für ihn beten; täglich wird man ihn segnen.

And he liveth, and giveth to him of the gold of Sheba, And prayeth for him continually, All the day he doth bless him.

16 A uf Erden, oben auf den Bergen, wird das Getreide dick stehen; seine Frucht wird rauschen wie der Libanon, und sie werden grünen wie das Gras auf Erden.

There is a handful of corn in the earth, On the top of mountains, Shake like Lebanon doth its fruit, And they flourish out of the city as the herb of the earth.

17 S ein Name wird ewiglich bleiben; solange die Sonne währt, wird sein Name auf die Nachkommen reichen, und sie werden durch denselben gesegnet sein; alle Heiden werden ihn preisen.

His name is to the age, Before the sun is his name continued, And they bless themselves in him, All nations do pronounce him happy.

18 G elobet sei Gott der HERR, der Gott Israels, der allein Wunder tut;

Blessed is Jehovah God, God of Israel, He alone is doing wonders,

19 u nd gelobet sei sein herrlicher Name ewiglich; und alle Lande müssen seiner Ehre voll werden! Amen, amen.

And blessed the Name of His honour to the age, And the whole earth is filled His honour. Amen, and amen!

20 E in Ende haben die Gebete Davids, des Sohnes Isais.
