1 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Pule dos tablas de piedra, como las primeras, y yo escribiré sobre esas tablas las palabras que estaban en las primeras tablas, las que hiciste pedazos.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Hew for thyself two tables of stone like the first, and I have written on the tables the words which were on the first tables which thou hast broken;

2 A sí que prepárate para mañana, y sube temprano al monte Sinaí. Preséntate ante mí en la cumbre del monte.

and be prepared at morning, and thou hast come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and hast stood before Me there, on the top of the mount,

3 Q ue no suba nadie contigo, ni se asome nadie en todo el monte. Tampoco debe haber ovejas ni bueyes paciendo delante del monte.»

and no man cometh up with thee, and also no man is seen in all the mount, also the flock and the herd do not feed over-against that mount.'

4 M oisés pulió dos tablas de piedra, como las primeras, y por la mañana se levantó y subió al monte Sinaí, tal y como el Señor se lo ordenó. En sus manos llevaba las dos tablas de piedra.

And he heweth two tables of stone like the first, and Moses riseth early in the morning, and goeth up unto mount Sinai, as Jehovah commanded him, and he taketh in his hand two tables of stone.

5 Y el Señor descendió en la nube, y estuvo allí con él, proclamando su nombre.

And Jehovah cometh down in a cloud, and stationeth Himself with him there, and calleth in the Name of Jehovah,

6 L uego el Señor pasó delante de Moisés, y proclamó: «¡EL SEÑOR! ¡EL SEÑOR! ¡Dios misericordioso y clemente! ¡Lento para la ira, y grande en misericordia y verdad!

and Jehovah passeth over before his face, and calleth: `Jehovah, Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth,

7 ¡ Es misericordioso por mil generaciones! ¡Perdona la maldad, la rebelión y el pecado, pero de ningún modo declara inocente al malvado! ¡Castiga la maldad de los padres en los hijos y en los hijos de los hijos, hasta la tercera y cuarta generación!»

keeping kindness for thousands, taking away iniquity, and transgression, and sin, and not entirely acquitting, charging iniquity of fathers on children, and on children's children, on a third, and on a fourth.'

8 C on gran rapidez Moisés bajó la cabeza hacia el suelo, y adoró.

And Moses hasteth, and boweth to the earth, and doth obeisance,

9 L uego dijo: «Señor, si me he ganado tu favor, quédate en medio de nosotros. Éste es un pueblo de dura cerviz, así que perdona nuestra maldad y nuestro pecado, ¡y recíbenos como tu pueblo!»

and saith, `If, I pray Thee, I have found grace in Thine eyes, O my Lord, let my Lord, I pray Thee, go in our midst (for it a stiff-necked people), and thou hast forgiven our iniquity and our sin, and hast inherited us.'

10 E l Señor contestó: «Mira, yo hago un pacto delante de todo tu pueblo. Voy a realizar maravillas nunca antes vistas en toda la tierra, ni en nación alguna. Todo el pueblo, en medio del cual tú estás, verá las obras tan sorprendentes que yo, el Señor, haré contigo. Advertencia contra la idolatría de Canaán

And He saith, `Lo, I am making a covenant: before all thy people I do wonders, which have not been done in all the earth, or in any nation, and all the people in whose midst thou have seen the work of Jehovah, for it fearful that which I am doing with thee.

11 » Tú cumple lo que hoy te mando. Verás que voy a echar de tu presencia a los amorreos y cananeos, y a los hititas, ferezeos, jivitas y jebuseos.

`Observe for thyself that which I am commanding thee to-day: lo, I am casting out from before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite;

12 P ero ten cuidado. No hagas alianzas con los habitantes de la tierra a la que vas a entrar, para que no te sean un tropiezo.

take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitant of the land into which thou art going, lest it become a snare in thy midst;

13 U stedes derribarán sus altares y harán pedazos sus estatuas y sus imágenes de Asera.

for their altars ye break down, and their standing pillars ye shiver, and its shrines ye cut down;

14 D e ninguna manera te inclinarás ante ningún otro dios, porque yo, el Señor, soy un Dios celoso. Mi nombre es “Dios celoso”.

for ye do not bow yourselves to another god -- for Jehovah, whose name Zealous, is a zealous God.

15 P or lo tanto, no harás alianza con los habitantes de esa tierra, porque ustedes podrían prostituirse al ir en pos de sus dioses, y entonces ofrecerán sacrificios a sus dioses, y los invitarán a comer de sus sacrificios,

`Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitant of the land, and they have gone a-whoring after their gods, and have sacrificed to their gods, and hath called to thee, and thou hast eaten of his sacrifice,

16 o casarán a sus hijas con tus hijos, y al prostituirse sus hijas por seguir a sus dioses, harán que también tus hijos se prostituyan al seguir a los dioses de ellas.

and thou hast taken of their daughters to thy sons, and their daughters have gone a-whoring after their gods, and have caused thy sons to go a-whoring after their gods;

17 » No te harás dioses de metal fundido. Fiestas anuales

a molten god thou dost not make to thyself.

18 » Celebrarás la fiesta de los panes sin levadura. Comerás pan sin levadura durante siete días, como te lo he ordenado, en el tiempo señalado del mes de Aviv; porque fue en ese mes de Aviv cuando saliste de Egipto.

`The feast of unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at an appointed time, the month of Abib: for in the month of Abib thou didst come out from Egypt.

19 » Todo primogénito me pertenece, lo mismo que toda primera cría de tu ganado, sea de vaca o de oveja, siempre y cuando sea macho.

`All opening a womb Mine, and every firstling of thy cattle born a male, ox or sheep;

20 A la primera cría del asno la redimirás con un cordero; pero, si no lo redimes, le romperás el cuello. »Rescatarás a todos tus hijos primogénitos. Y nadie debe presentarse ante mí con las manos vacías.

and the firstling of an ass thou dost ransom with a lamb; and if thou dost not ransom, then thou hast beheaded it; every first-born of thy sons thou dost ransom, and they do not appear before Me empty.

21 » Seis días trabajarás, pero el séptimo día descansarás. Aun si debieras arar o segar, descansarás.

`Six days thou dost work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest; in ploughing-time and in harvest thou dost rest.

22 » Celebrarás también la fiesta de las semanas, la fiesta de las primicias de la siega del trigo, y la fiesta de la cosecha al terminar el año.

`And a feast of weeks thou dost observe for thyself; first-fruits of wheat-harvest; and the feast of in-gathering, at the revolution of the year.

23 T res veces al año se presentarán todos tus varones delante de mí, tu Señor y Dios, el Dios de Israel.

`Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the Lord Jehovah, God of Israel;

24 P orque yo arrojaré de tu presencia a las naciones, y ensancharé tu territorio, y cuando subas a presentarte ante mí, el Señor tu Dios, tres veces al año, nadie codiciará tu tierra.

for I dispossess nations from before thee, and have enlarged thy border, and no man doth desire thy land in thy going up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in a year.

25 » No ofrecerás con la sangre de mi sacrificio nada que tenga levadura. Tampoco se dejará hasta el día siguiente nada del animal sacrificado en la fiesta de la pascua.

`Thou dost not slaughter with a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice; and the sacrifice of the feast of the passover doth not remain till morning:

26 » Llevarás a la casa del Señor tu Dios los primeros frutos de tu tierra. »No guisarás el cabrito en la leche de su madre.» Moisés y las tablas de la ley

the first of the first-fruits of the land thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.'

27 E l Señor le dijo a Moisés: «Pon estas palabras por escrito, porque el pacto que he hecho contigo y con Israel tiene como base estas palabras.»

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Write for thyself these words, for, according to the tenor of these words I have made with thee a covenant, and with Israel.'

28 Y Moisés estuvo allí, con el Señor, cuarenta días y cuarenta noches. No comió pan, ni bebió agua, pero sí escribió en las tablas de piedra las palabras del pacto, es decir, los diez mandamientos.

And he is there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; bread he hath not eaten, and water he hath not drunk; and he writeth on the tables the matters of the covenant -- the ten matters.

29 Y sucedió que, cuando Moisés bajó del monte Sinaí con las dos tablas del testimonio en su mano, no sabía que, después de haber hablado con Dios, la tez de su rostro resplandecía.

And it cometh to pass, when Moses is coming down from mount Sinai (and the two tables of the testimony in the hand of Moses in his coming down from the mount), that Moses hath not known that the skin of his face hath shone in His speaking with him,

30 A arón y todos los hijos de Israel miraron a Moisés, y vieron que la piel de su rostro resplandecía, así que tuvieron miedo de acercarse a él.

and Aaron seeth -- all the sons of Israel also -- Moses, and lo, the skin of his face hath shone, and they are afraid of coming nigh unto him.

31 P ero Moisés los llamó, y cuando Aarón y todos los príncipes de la congregación regresaron, Moisés les habló.

And Moses calleth unto them, and Aaron and all the princes in the company return unto him, and Moses speaketh unto them;

32 D espués se acercaron todos los hijos de Israel, y Moisés les ordenó cumplir con todo lo que el Señor le había dicho en el monte Sinaí.

and afterwards have all the sons of Israel come nigh, and he chargeth them with all that Jehovah hath spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 Y cuando Moisés terminó de hablar con ellos, se puso un velo sobre el rostro.

And Moses finisheth speaking with them, and putteth on his face a vail;

34 C uando Moisés se presentaba ante el Señor para hablar con él, se quitaba el velo mientras estaba adentro, y al salir les comunicaba a los hijos de Israel lo que el Señor le había ordenado.

and in the going in of Moses before Jehovah to speak with Him, he turneth aside the vail until his coming out; and he hath come out and hath spoken unto the sons of Israel that which he is commanded;

35 A l mirar los hijos de Israel el rostro de Moisés, veían que la piel de su rostro resplandecía; pero Moisés volvía a cubrir su rostro con un velo, hasta que entraba de nuevo a hablar con Dios.

and the sons of Israel have seen the face of Moses that the skin of the face of Moses hath shone, and Moses hath put back the vail on his face until his going in to speak with Him.
