1 L 'Eterno disse a Mosè: «Tagliati due tavole di pietra come le prime; e io scriverò sulle tavole le parole che erano sulle prime tavole che spezzasti.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Hew for thyself two tables of stone like the first, and I have written on the tables the words which were on the first tables which thou hast broken;

2 C osì sii pronto al mattino e sali al mattino sul monte Sinai, e rimani là vicino a me in vetta al monte.

and be prepared at morning, and thou hast come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and hast stood before Me there, on the top of the mount,

3 N essuno salga con te e non si veda alcuno per tutto il monte; né greggi né armenti pascolino nei dintorni di questo monte».

and no man cometh up with thee, and also no man is seen in all the mount, also the flock and the herd do not feed over-against that mount.'

4 M osè dunque tagliò due tavole di pietra, come le prime; si alzò al mattino presto e salì sul monte Sinai come l'Eterno gli aveva comandato, e prese in mano le due tavole di pietra.

And he heweth two tables of stone like the first, and Moses riseth early in the morning, and goeth up unto mount Sinai, as Jehovah commanded him, and he taketh in his hand two tables of stone.

5 A llora l'Eterno discese nella nuvola e si fermò là vicino a lui, e proclamò il nome dell'Eterno.

And Jehovah cometh down in a cloud, and stationeth Himself with him there, and calleth in the Name of Jehovah,

6 E l'Eterno passò davanti a lui e gridò: «L'Eterno, l'Eterno Dio, misericordioso e pietoso, lento all'ira, ricco in benignità e fedeltà,

and Jehovah passeth over before his face, and calleth: `Jehovah, Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness and truth,

7 c he usa misericordia a migliaia, che perdona l'iniquità, la trasgressione e il peccato ma non lascia il colpevole impunito, e che visita l'iniquità dei padri sui figli e sui figli dei figli fino alla terza e alla quarta generazione».

keeping kindness for thousands, taking away iniquity, and transgression, and sin, and not entirely acquitting, charging iniquity of fathers on children, and on children's children, on a third, and on a fourth.'

8 E Mosè si affrettò a prostrarsi fino a terra, e adorò.

And Moses hasteth, and boweth to the earth, and doth obeisance,

9 P oi disse: «Deh, Signore, se ho trovato grazia ai tuoi occhi, venga il Signore in mezzo a noi, perché questo è un popolo dal collo duro; perdona la nostra iniquità e il nostro peccato, e prendici come tua eredità».

and saith, `If, I pray Thee, I have found grace in Thine eyes, O my Lord, let my Lord, I pray Thee, go in our midst (for it a stiff-necked people), and thou hast forgiven our iniquity and our sin, and hast inherited us.'

10 L 'Eterno rispose: «Ecco, io faccio un patto: Farò davanti a tutto il popolo prodigi, che non sono ma stati fatti su tutta la terra né in alcuna nazione; e tutto il popolo in mezzo al quale ti trovi vedrà l'opera dell'Eterno, perché è tremendo ciò che io sto per fare con te.

And He saith, `Lo, I am making a covenant: before all thy people I do wonders, which have not been done in all the earth, or in any nation, and all the people in whose midst thou have seen the work of Jehovah, for it fearful that which I am doing with thee.

11 O sserva ciò che oggi ti comando: Ecco io scaccerò davanti a te gli Amorei, i Cananei, gli Hittei, i Perezei, gli Hivvei e i Gebusei.

`Observe for thyself that which I am commanding thee to-day: lo, I am casting out from before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite;

12 G uardati dal fare alcuna alleanza con gli abitanti del paese nel quale stai per andare, perché non sia un laccio in mezzo a te;

take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitant of the land into which thou art going, lest it become a snare in thy midst;

13 m a demolite i loro altari, frantumate le loro colonne sacre e abbattete le loro immagini,

for their altars ye break down, and their standing pillars ye shiver, and its shrines ye cut down;

14 ( perché non ti prostrerai ad altro dio, poiché l'Eterno, il cui nome è "il Geloso", è un Dio geloso).

for ye do not bow yourselves to another god -- for Jehovah, whose name Zealous, is a zealous God.

15 N on fare alcuna alleanza con gli abitanti del paese perché, quando essi si prostituiscono ai loro dèi ed offrono sacrifici ai loro dèi, qualcuno di essi ti inviti e tu mangi dei loro sacrifici,

`Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitant of the land, and they have gone a-whoring after their gods, and have sacrificed to their gods, and hath called to thee, and thou hast eaten of his sacrifice,

16 e prenda delle loro figlie per i tuoi figli, e le loro figlie si prostituiscano ai loro dèi e inducano i tuoi figli a prostituirsi ai loro dèi.

and thou hast taken of their daughters to thy sons, and their daughters have gone a-whoring after their gods, and have caused thy sons to go a-whoring after their gods;

17 N on ti farai dèi di metallo fuso.

a molten god thou dost not make to thyself.

18 O sserverai la festa degli azzimi. Per sette giorni mangerai pane senza lievito come ti ho ordinato nel tempo stabilito nel mese di Abib, poiché nel mese di Abib tu sei uscito dall'Egitto.

`The feast of unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at an appointed time, the month of Abib: for in the month of Abib thou didst come out from Egypt.

19 C hiunque apre il grembo è mio; e mio è ogni primo parto maschio di tutto il tuo bestiame, sia bovino che ovino.

`All opening a womb Mine, and every firstling of thy cattle born a male, ox or sheep;

20 M a riscatterai con un agnello il primo nato dell'asino; se non lo vuoi riscattare, gli romperai il collo. Riscatterai pure ogni primogenito dei tuoi figli. Nessuno comparirà davanti a me a mani vuote.

and the firstling of an ass thou dost ransom with a lamb; and if thou dost not ransom, then thou hast beheaded it; every first-born of thy sons thou dost ransom, and they do not appear before Me empty.

21 L avorerai sei giorni; ma il settimo giorno ti riposerai: ti riposerai anche al tempo dell'aratura e della mietitura.

`Six days thou dost work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest; in ploughing-time and in harvest thou dost rest.

22 C elebrerai la festa delle settimane, e cioè, delle primizie della mietitura del grano e la festa della raccolta alla fine dell'anno.

`And a feast of weeks thou dost observe for thyself; first-fruits of wheat-harvest; and the feast of in-gathering, at the revolution of the year.

23 T re volte all'anno comparirà ogni vostro maschio davanti al Signore, l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele.

`Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the Lord Jehovah, God of Israel;

24 P oiché io scaccerò nazioni davanti a te e allargherò i tuoi confini, e nessuno desidererà il tuo paese, quando salirai tre volte all'anno, per comparire davanti all'Eterno, il tuo DIO.

for I dispossess nations from before thee, and have enlarged thy border, and no man doth desire thy land in thy going up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in a year.

25 N on offrirai con pane lievitato il sangue della vittima immolata a me; il sacrificio della festa di Pasqua non sarà lasciato fino al mattino.

`Thou dost not slaughter with a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice; and the sacrifice of the feast of the passover doth not remain till morning:

26 P orterai alla casa dell'Eterno, il tuo DIO, le primizie dei primi frutti della tua terra. Non cuocerai il capretto nel latte di sua madre».

the first of the first-fruits of the land thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.'

27 P oi l'Eterno disse a Mosè: «Scrivi queste parole, perché sul Fondamento di queste parole io ho contratto alleanza con te e con Israele».

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Write for thyself these words, for, according to the tenor of these words I have made with thee a covenant, and with Israel.'

28 C osì Mosè rimase là con l'Eterno quaranta giorni e quaranta notti; non mangiò pane né bevve acqua. E l'Eterno scrisse sulle tavole le parole del patto, i dieci comandamenti.

And he is there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; bread he hath not eaten, and water he hath not drunk; and he writeth on the tables the matters of the covenant -- the ten matters.

29 O r Mosè, quando scese dal monte Sinai (scendendo dal monte Mosè aveva in mano le due tavole della testimonianza), non sapeva che la pelle del suo volto era divenuta raggiante, perché era stato a parlare con l'Eterno.

And it cometh to pass, when Moses is coming down from mount Sinai (and the two tables of the testimony in the hand of Moses in his coming down from the mount), that Moses hath not known that the skin of his face hath shone in His speaking with him,

30 C osì, quando Aaronne e tutti i figli d'Israele videro Mosè, ecco che la pelle del suo volto era raggiante ed essi avevano paura di avvicinarsi a lui.

and Aaron seeth -- all the sons of Israel also -- Moses, and lo, the skin of his face hath shone, and they are afraid of coming nigh unto him.

31 M a Mosè li chiamò ed Aaronne e tutti i capi dell'assemblea ritornarono da lui, e Mosè parlò loro.

And Moses calleth unto them, and Aaron and all the princes in the company return unto him, and Moses speaketh unto them;

32 D opo di che, tutti i figli d'Israele si avvicinarono, ed egli ordinò loro di fare tutto ciò che l'Eterno gli aveva detto sul monte Sinai.

and afterwards have all the sons of Israel come nigh, and he chargeth them with all that Jehovah hath spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 C ome Mosè ebbe finito di parlare con loro, mise un velo sul suo volto.

And Moses finisheth speaking with them, and putteth on his face a vail;

34 Q uando però Mosè entrava davanti all'Eterno per parlare con lui, si toglieva il velo finché usciva fuori; uscendo fuori, diceva ai figli d'Israele ciò che gli era stato comandato.

and in the going in of Moses before Jehovah to speak with Him, he turneth aside the vail until his coming out; and he hath come out and hath spoken unto the sons of Israel that which he is commanded;

35 I figli d'Israele, guardando la faccia di Mosè, vedevano che la pelle di Mosè era raggiante; poi Mosè rimetteva il velo sul suo volto, fino a quando entrava a parlare con l'Eterno.

and the sons of Israel have seen the face of Moses that the skin of the face of Moses hath shone, and Moses hath put back the vail on his face until his going in to speak with Him.
