1 L 'Eterno parlò ancora a Mosè sul monte Sinai, dicendo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, in mount Sinai, saying,

2 « Parla ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Quando entrerete nel paese che io vi do, la terra osserverà un sabato di riposo per l'Eterno.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When ye come in unto the land which I am giving to you, then hath the land kept a sabbath to Jehovah.

3 P er sei anni seminerai il tuo campo, per sei anni poterai la tua vigna e ne raccoglierai i frutti;

`Six years thou dost sow thy field, and six years thou dost prune thy vineyard, and hast gathered its increase,

4 m a il settimo anno sarà un sabato di riposo per la terra, un sabato in onore dell'Eterno; non seminerai il tuo campo ne poterai la tua vigna.

and in the seventh year a sabbath of rest is to the land, a sabbath to Jehovah; thy field thou dost not sow, and thy vineyard thou dost not prune;

5 N on mieterai ciò che cresce spontaneamente del tuo raccolto e non vendemmierai l'uva della vigna che non hai potata; sarà un anno di riposo per la terra.

the spontaneous growth of thy harvest thou dost not reap, and the grapes of thy separated thing thou dost not gather, a year of rest it is to the land.

6 C iò che la terra produrrà durante il suo riposo servirà di nutrimento: a te, al tuo servo, alla tua serva, al tuo operaio e al forestiero, a coloro cioè che risiedono con te

`And the sabbath of the land hath been to you for food, to thee, and to thy man-servant, and to thy handmaid, and to thy hireling, and to thy settler, who are sojourning with thee;

7 a l tuo bestiame e agli animali che sono nel tuo paese; tutto il suo prodotto servirà loro di nutrimento.

and to thy cattle, and to the beast which in thy land, is all thine increase for food.

8 C onterai pure per te sette sabati di anni: sette volte sette anni; queste sette settimane di anni faranno per te un periodo di quarantanove anni.

`And thou hast numbered to thee seven sabbaths of years, seven years seven times, and the days of the seven sabbaths of years have been to thee nine and forty years,

9 A l decimo giorno del settimo mese farai squillare la tromba; nel giorno dell'espiazione farete squillare la tromba per tutto il paese.

and thou hast caused a trumpet of shouting to pass over in the seventh month, in the tenth of the month; in the day of the atonements ye do cause a trumpet to pass over through all your land;

10 E santificherete il cinquantesimo anno e proclamerete la libertà nel paese per tutti i suoi abitanti. Sarà per voi un giubileo; ognuno di voi tornerà nella sua proprietà e ognuno di voi tornerà nella sua famiglia.

and ye have hallowed the year, the fiftieth year; and ye have proclaimed liberty in the land to all its inhabitants; a jubilee it is to you; and ye have turned back each unto his possession; yea, each unto his family ye do turn back.

11 I l cinquantesimo anno sarà per voi un giubileo; non seminerete e non raccoglierete ciò che cresce spontaneamente, e non vendemmierete le vigne non potate.

`A jubilee it, the fiftieth year, a year it is to you; ye sow not, nor reap its spontaneous growth, nor gather its separated things;

12 P oiché è il giubileo; esso sarà sacro per voi; mangerete il prodotto che vi daranno i campi.

for a jubilee it, holy it is to you; out of the field ye eat its increase;

13 I n quest'anno del giubileo ciascuno tornerà alle sue proprietà.

in the year of this jubilee ye turn back each unto his possession.

14 S e vendete qualcosa al vostro prossimo o se comprate qualcosa dal vostro prossimo, non farete alcun torto l'uno all'altro.

`And when thou sellest anything to thy fellow, or buyest from the hand of thy fellow, ye do not oppress one another;

15 C omprerai dal tuo vicino in base al numero di anni trascorsi dopo il giubileo, ed egli venderà a te in base al numero degli anni della raccolta.

by the number of years after the jubilee thou dost buy from thy fellow; by the number of the years of increase he doth sell to thee;

16 Q uanto più anni restano, tanto più alzerai il prezzo; quanto meno anni restano, tanto più abbasserai il prezzo; poiché egli ti vende in base al numero dei raccolti.

according to the multitude of the years thou dost multiply its price, and according to the fewness of the years thou dost diminish its price; for a number of increases he is selling to thee;

17 N essuno di voi danneggi il suo vicino, ma temerai il tuo DIO; poiché io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO.

and ye do not oppress one another, and thou hast been afraid of thy God; for I Jehovah your God.

18 V oi metterete in pratica i miei statuti, e osserverete i miei decreti e li adempirete; così abiterete il paese al sicuro.

`And ye have done My statutes, and My judgments ye keep, and have done them, and ye have dwelt on the land confidently,

19 L a terra produrrà i suoi frutti e voi ne mangerete a sazietà, e abiterete in essa al sicuro.

and the land hath given its fruit, and ye have eaten to satiety, and have dwelt confidently on it.

20 M a se dite: "Che cosa mangeremo il settimo anno, se non semineremo e non raccoglieremo i nostri prodotti?".

`And when ye say, What do we eat in the seventh year, lo, we do not sow, nor gather our increase?

21 I o ho comandato che la mia benedizione venga su di voi il sesto anno, ed esso vi darà un raccolto che basterà per tre anni.

then I have commanded My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it hath made the increase for three years;

22 C osì nell'ottavo anno seminerete e mangerete del vecchio raccolto fino al nono anno; mangerete del vecchio raccolto finché venga il nuovo.

and ye have sown the eighth year, and have eaten of the old increase; until the ninth year, until the coming in of its increase, ye do eat the old.

23 L e terre non si venderanno per sempre, perché la terra è mia; poiché voi siete forestieri e affittuari con me.

`And the land is not sold -- to extinction, for the land Mine, for sojourners and settlers ye with Me;

24 P erciò in tutto il paese di vostra proprietà, concederete il diritto di riscatto del suolo.

and in all the land of your possession a redemption ye do give to the land.

25 S e un tuo fratello diventa povero e vende una parte della sua proprietà, colui che ha il diritto di riscatto, il suo parente più stretto, verrà e riscatterà ciò che il suo fratello ha venduto.

`When thy brother becometh poor, and hath sold his possession, then hath his redeemer who is near unto him come, and he hath redeemed the sold thing of his brother;

26 E se uno non ha chi possa riscattare la sa proprietà, ma giunge a procurarsi da sé la somma necessaria al riscatto,

and when a man hath no redeemer, and his own hand hath attained, and he hath found as sufficient its redemption,

27 c onterà le annate trascorse e rifonderà al compratore l'importo degli anni che ancora rimangono, e rientrerà così nella sua proprietà.

then he hath reckoned the years of its sale, and hath given back that which is over to the man to whom he sold, and he hath returned to his possession.

28 M a se non è in grado di riscattare la sua proprietà, ciò che ha venduto rimarrà nelle mani del compratore fino all'anno del giubileo; al giubileo però sarà svincolata e ritornerà in suo possesso.

`And if his hand hath not found sufficiency to give back to him, then hath his sold thing been in the hand of him who buyeth it till the year of jubilee; and it hath gone out in the jubilee, and he hath returned to his possession.

29 S e uno vende una casa per abitazione in una città murata, avrà il diritto di riscattarla per un intero anno dopo la sua vendita; il suo diritto di riscatto dura un anno intero.

`And when a man selleth a dwelling-house a walled city, then hath his right of redemption been until the completion of a year from its selling; days -- is his right of redemption;

30 M a se la casa posta nella città murata non è riscattata prima che sia trascorso un intero anno, rimarrà per sempre proprietà del compratore e dei suoi discendenti; non sarà svincolata al giubileo.

and if it is not redeemed until the fulness to him of a perfect year, then hath the house which in a walled city been established to extinction to the buyer of it, to his generations; it goeth not out in the jubilee;

31 I nvece le case dei villaggi non attorniati da mura saranno considerate come fondi rurali; possono essere riscattate e al giubileo saranno svincolate.

and a house of the villages which have no wall round about, on the field of the country is reckoned; redemption is to it, and in the jubilee it goeth out.

32 Q uanto alle città dei Leviti, i Leviti potranno sempre riscattare le case delle città di loro proprietà.

`As to cities of the Levites -- houses of the cities of their possession -- redemption age-during is to the Levites;

33 S e poi uno compra una casa dai Leviti, la casa venduta nella città di loro proprietà sarà svincolata nell'anno del giubileo, perché le case delle città dei Leviti sono loro proprietà, in mezzo ai figli d'Israele.

as to him who redeemeth from the Levites, both the sale of a house and the city of his possession have gone out in the jubilee, for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession in the midst of the sons of Israel.

34 M a i terreni da pascolo delle loro città non si possono vendere, perché sono loro proprietà perpetua.

And a field, a suburb of their cities, is not sold; for a possession age-during it to them.

35 S e un tuo fratello impoverisce e si trova nell'indigenza in mezzo a voi, tu lo sosterrai come un forestiero e un ospite perché possa vivere presso di te.

`And when thy brother is become poor, and his hand hath failed with thee, then thou hast kept hold on him, sojourner and settler, and he hath lived with thee;

36 N on trarre da lui alcun interesse o utile; ma temi il tuo DIO, e il tuo fratello vivrà presso di te.

thou takest no usury from him, or increase; and thou hast been afraid of thy God; and thy brother hath lived with thee;

37 N on gli presterai il tuo denaro a interesse, né gli darai i tuoi viveri per ricavarne un utile.

thy money thou givest not to him in usury, and for increase thou givest not thy food;

38 I o sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO, che vi ha fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto per darvi il paese di Canaan e per essere il vostro DIO.

I Jehovah your God, who hath brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give to you the land of Canaan, to become your God.

39 S e il tuo fratello che vive presso di te diviene povero e si vende a te, non l'obbligherai a servire come uno schiavo;

`And when thy brother becometh poor with thee, and he hath been sold to thee, thou dost not lay on him servile service;

40 m a starà da te come un bracciante e come un ospite; ti servirà fino all'anno del giubileo.

as an hireling, as a settler, he is with thee, till the year of the jubilee he doth serve with thee, --

41 A llora se ne andrà da te, lui e i suoi figli, e tornerà nella sua famiglia; così rientrerà nella proprietà dei suoi padri.

then he hath gone out from thee, he and his sons with him, and hath turned back unto his family; even unto the possession of his fathers he doth turn back.

42 P oiché essi sono miei servi, che io ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto; non devono quindi essere venduti come si vendono gli schiavi.

`For they My servants, whom I have brought out from the land of Egypt: they are not sold the sale of a servant;

43 N on lo dominerai con asprezza, ma temerai il tuo DIO.

thou rulest not over him with rigour, and thou hast been afraid of thy God.

44 Q uanto allo schiavo e alla schiava che puoi avere, li prenderai dalle nazioni che vi circondano; da queste comprerete lo schiavo e la schiava.

`And thy man-servant and thy handmaid whom thou hast of the nations who round about you; of them ye buy man-servant and handmaid,

45 I noltre potrete comprare schiavi tra i figli degli stranieri che vivono tra di voi e tra le loro famiglie che si trovano fra di voi e che hanno generato nel vostro paese; essi saranno vostra proprietà.

and also of the sons of the settlers who are sojourning with you, of them ye buy, and of their families who with you, which they have begotten in your land, and they have been to you for a possession;

46 E li potrete lasciare in eredità ai vostri figli dopo di voi, come loro proprietà; vi potrete servire di loro come schiavi per sempre; ma quanto ai vostri fratelli, i figli d'Israele, nessuno dominerà sull'altro con asprezza.

and ye have taken them for inheritance to your sons after you, to occupy a possession; to the age ye lay service upon them, but upon your brethren, the sons of Israel, one with another, thou dost not rule over him with rigour.

47 S e un forestiero che vive presso di te arricchisce e un tuo fratello che vive presso di lui impoverisce, e si vende al forestiero o all'ospite che è presso di te, o a qualcuno della famiglia del forestiero,

`And when the hand of a sojourner or settler with thee attaineth, and thy brother with him hath become poor, and he hath been sold to a sojourner, a settler with thee, or to the root of the family of a sojourner,

48 d opo che si è venduto, può essere nuovamente riscattato; lo potrà riscattare uno dei suoi fratelli.

after he hath been sold, there is a right of redemption to him; one of his brethren doth redeem him,

49 L o potrà riscattare suo zio, o il figlio di suo zio; lo potrà riscattare un parente del suo stesso sangue; o se ne ha i mezzi, potrà riscattarsi da sé.

or his uncle, or a son of his uncle, doth redeem him, or any of the relations of his flesh, of his family, doth redeem him, or -- his own hand hath attained -- then he hath been redeemed.

50 F arà il conto col suo compratore, dall'anno che si è venduto a lui all'anno del giubileo; e il prezzo da pagare sarà calcolato in base al numero degli anni, valutando le sue giornate come quelle di un bracciante.

`And he hath reckoned with his buyer from the year of his being sold to him till the year of jubilee, and the money of his sale hath been by the number of years; as the days of an hireling it is with him.

51 S e vi sono ancora molti anni, pagherà il suo riscatto in base al loro numero e al prezzo col quale fu comprato;

`If yet many years, according to them he giveth back his redemption, from the money of his purchase.

52 s e rimangono invece solo pochi anni per arrivare al giubileo, farà il conto col suo compratore e pagherà il prezzo del suo riscatto in base ai pochi anni rimasti.

`And if few are left of the years till the year of jubilee, then he hath reckoned with him, according to his years he doth give back his redemption;

53 C ome bracciante rimanga con il padrone un anno dopo l'altro, il quale non lo dominerà con asprezza sotto i tuoi occhi.

as an hireling, year by year, he is with him, and he doth not rule him with rigour before thine eyes.

54 E se non è riscattato in alcuno di questi modi, sarà lasciato libero nell'anno del giubileo, lui e i suoi figli.

`And if he is not redeemed in these, then he hath gone out in the year of jubilee, he and his sons with him.

55 P oiché i figli d'Israele sono servi miei; sono miei servi, che ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO».

For to Me the sons of Israel servants; My servants they, whom I have brought out of the land of Egypt; I, Jehovah, your God.
