1 V enti anni dopo che Salomone aveva costruito la casa dell'Eterno e il proprio palazzo,

And it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the house of Jehovah, and his own house.

2 S alomone ricostruí le città che Hiram aveva dato a Salomone e vi fece abitare i figli d'Israele.

As to the cities that Huram hath given to Solomon, Solomon hath built them, and there he causeth the sons of Israel to dwell.

3 S alomone marciò quindi contro Hamath-Tsobah e se ne impadroní.

And Solomon goeth to Hamath-Zobah, and layeth hold upon it;

4 I noltre ricostruí Tadmor nel deserto e tutte le città di rifornimento che aveva edificato in Hamath.

and he buildeth Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the cities of store that he hath built in Hamath.

5 R icostruí Beth-Horon superiore e Beth-Horon inferiore, città fortificate con mura, porte e sbarre,

And he buildeth Beth-Horon the upper, and Beth-Horon the lower -- cities of defence, with walls, two-leaved doors, and bar --

6 e anche Baalath e tutte le città di rifornimento che appartenevano a Salomone, tutte le città dei carri, le città della cavalleria, insomma tutto ciò che gli piacque di costruire a Gerusalemme, nel Libano e in tutto il paese sotto il suo dominio.

and Baalath, and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and all the cities of the chariot, and the cities of the horsemen, and all the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7 T utta la gente rimasta degli Hittei, degli Amorei, dei Perezei, degli Hivvei e dei Gebusei, che non erano d'Israele,

All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel --

8 ( cioè i loro discendenti che erano rimasti dopo di loro nel paese e che gli Israeliti non erano riusciti a distruggere) Salomone li reclutò per il lavoro forzato, fino al giorno d'oggi.

of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel consumed not -- doth Solomon lift up a tribute unto this day.

9 M a dei figli d'Israele Salomone non impiegò alcuno come servo per i suoi lavori, essi erano invece i suoi uomini di guerra, capi dei suoi condottieri e comandanti dei suoi carri e della sua cavalleria.

And none of the sons of Israel hath Solomon made servants for his work, but they men of war, and heads of his captains, and heads of his charioteers, and of his horsemen;

10 I capi dei funzionari del re Salomone che sorvegliavano il popolo erano duecentocinquanta.

and these heads of the officers whom king Solomon hath, two hundred and fifty who are rulers among the people.

11 O r Salomone fece salire la figlia del Faraone dalla città di Davide alla casa che aveva costruito per lei, perché pensava: «Mia moglie non deve abitare nella casa di Davide re d'Israele, perchè i luoghi dove è entrata l'arca dell'Eterno sono santi»

And the daughter of Pharaoh hath Solomon brought up from the city of David to the house that he built for her, for he said, `My wife doth not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for they are holy unto whom hath come the ark of Jehovah.'

12 A llora Salomone offrí olocausti all'Eterno sull'altare dell'Eterno, che egli aveva costruito davanti al portico del tempio;

Then hath Solomon caused to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah that he built before the porch,

13 e faceva ciò in base al numero richiesto ogni giorno, offrendoli secondo il comandamento di Mosè, nei sabati, nei noviluni e nelle feste solenni, tre volte all'anno, e cioè, nella festa degli azzimi, nella festa delle settimane e nella festa delle capanne.

even by the matter of a day in its day, to cause to ascend according to the command of Moses, on sabbaths, and on new moons, and on appointed seasons, three times in a year -- in the feast of unleavened things, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths.

14 S tando quindi alle norme di Davide, suo padre, egli stabilí le classi dei sacerdoti per il loro servizio, i Leviti nelle loro mansioni (di lodare l'Eterno e di prestare servizio davanti ai sacerdoti) secondo i compiti di ogni giorno, e i portinai secondo le loro classi a ciascuna porta, perché cosí aveva ordinato Davide l'uomo di DIO.

And he establisheth, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the priests over their service, and of the Levites over their charges, to praise and to minister over-against the priests, according to the matter of a day in its day, and the gatekeepers in their courses at gate and gate, for so the command of David the man of God.

15 E ssi non si allontanarono dall'ordine del re, dato ai sacerdoti e ai Leviti, in ogni questione e riguardo ai tesori.

And they have not turned aside the command of the king concerning the priests and the Levites, in reference to any matter, and to the treasures.

16 T utto il lavoro di Salomone fu ben organizzato dal giorno in cui si gettarono le fondamenta della casa dell'Eterno fino a quando fu terminato. Cosí la casa dell'Eterno fu portata a compimento.

And all the work of Solomon is prepared till the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and till its completion; perfect is the house of Jehovah.

17 A llora il re Salomone andò a Etsion-Gheber e a Elath sulla riva del mare, nel paese di Edom.

Then hath Solomon gone to Ezion-Geber, and unto Elath, on the border of the sea, in the land of Edom;

18 H iram per mezzo dei suoi servi gli mandò navi e servi che conoscevano il mare. Questi andarono con i servi di Salomone ad Ofir, vi presero quattrocentocinquanta talenti d'oro e li portarono al re Salomone.

and Huram sendeth to him, by the hand of his servants, ships and servants knowing the sea, and they go with servants of Solomon to Ophir, and take thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and bring in unto king Solomon.
