1 P ortarono dunque l'arca di DIO e la collocarono in mezzo al tabernacolo, che Davide aveva eretto per essa; poi offrirono olocausti e sacrifici di ringraziamento davanti a DIO.

And they bring in the ark of God, and set it up in the midst of the tent that David hath stretched out for it, and they bring near burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before God;

2 Q uando Davide ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e i sacrifici di ringraziamento, benedisse il popolo nel nome dell'Eterno;

and David ceaseth from offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, and blesseth the people in the name of Jehovah,

3 q uindi distribuí a tutti gli Israeliti, uomini e donne, a ciascuno di essi, una focaccia di pane, una porzione di carne e una schiacciata di uva passa.

and giveth a portion to every man of Israel, both man and woman: to each a cake of bread, and a measure of wine, and a grape-cake.

4 P oi stabilí davanti all'arca dell'Eterno alcuni fra i Leviti a prestare servizio, per far ricordare, per ringraziare e per lodare l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele:

And he putteth before the ark of Jehovah, of the Levites, ministers, even to make mention of, and to thank, and to give praise to Jehovah, God of Israel,

5 A saf il capo, Zaccaria il secondo dopo di lui, poi Jeiel. Scemiramoth, Jehieh, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom e Jeiel. Essi suonavano arpe e cetre, mentre Asaf suonava cembali.

Asaph the head, and his second Zechariah; Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with instruments of psalteries, and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals is sounding;

6 I sacerdoti Benaiah e Jahaziel invece suonavano del continuo la tromba davanti all'arca del patto di DIO.

and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

7 I n quel giorno Davide affidò per la prima volta ad Asaf e ai suoi fratelli l'incarico di cantare le lodi dell'Eterno.

On that day then hath David given at the beginning to give thanks to Jehovah by the hand of Asaph and his brethren: --

8 C elebrate l'Eterno, invocate il suo nome; fate conoscere le sue opere fra i popoli.

Give thanks to Jehovah, call in His name, Make known among the peoples His doings.

9 C antate a lui, cantate lodi a lui, meditate su tutte le sue meraviglie.

Sing ye to Him, sing psalms to Him, Meditate on all His wonders.

10 G loriatevi nel suo santo nome; si rallegri il cuore di quanti cercano l'Eterno!

Boast yourselves in His holy name, Rejoice doth the heart of those seeking Jehovah.

11 C ercate l'Eterno e la sua forza, cercate del continuo la sua faccia!

Seek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek His face continually.

12 R icordate le meraviglie che egli ha fatto, i suoi miracoli e i giudizi della sua bocca

Remember His wonders that He did, His signs, and the judgments of His mouth,

13 v oi, o progenie d'Israele, suo servo, o figli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti!

O seed of Israel, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

14 E gli è l'Eterno, il nostro DIO; i suoi giudizi sono su tutta la terra.

He Jehovah our God, In all the earth His judgments.

15 R icordatevi sempre del suo patto, della parola da lui comandata per mille generazioni,

Remember ye to the age His covenant, The word He commanded -- To a thousand generations,

16 d el patto che stipulò con Abrahamo, del suo giuramento fatto a Isacco.

Which He hath made with Abraham, And His oath -- to Isaac,

17 c he confermò a Giacobbe come uno statuto e a Israele come un patto eterno.

And He establisheth it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during.

18 d icendo «Io ti darò il paese di Canaan come porzione della vostra eredità».

Saying: To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,

19 q uando non eravate che un piccolo numero, pochissimi e stranieri nel paese.

When ye are few of number, As a little thing, and sojourners in it.

20 Q uando andavano da nazione a nazione, da un regno a un altro popolo,

And they go up and down, From nation unto nation, And from a kingdom unto another people.

21 e gli non permise che alcuno li opprimesse; anzi puní dei re per amor loro,

He hath not suffered any to oppress them, And reproveth on their account kings:

22 d icendo: «Non toccate i miei unti e non fate alcun male ai miei profeti».

Come not against Mine anointed ones, And against My prophets do not evil.

23 C antate all'Eterno, o abitanti di tutta la terra, annunziate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza!

Sing to Jehovah, all the earth, Proclaim from day unto day His salvation.

24 P roclamate la sua gloria fra le nazioni e le sue meraviglie fra tutti i popoli!

Rehearse among nations His glory, Among all the peoples His wonders.

25 P oiché l'Eterno è grande e degno di somma lode; egli va temuto sopra tutti gli dèi.

For great Jehovah, and praised greatly, And fearful He above all gods.

26 P oiché tutti gli dèi delle nazioni sono idoli, ma l'Eterno ha fatto i cieli.

For all gods of the peoples nought, And Jehovah the heavens hath made.

27 S plendore e maestà sono davanti a lui, forza e gioia sono nella sua dimora.

Honour and majesty before Him, Strength and joy in His place.

28 D ate all'Eterno, o famiglie dei popoli, date all'Eterno gloria e forza.

Ascribe to Jehovah, ye families of peoples, Ascribe to Jehovah honour and strength.

29 D ate all'Eterno la gloria dovuta al suo nome, portategli offerte e venite davanti a lui. Prostratevi davanti all'Eterno nello splendore della sua SANTITA';

Ascribe to Jehovah the honour of His name, Lift up a present, and come before Him. Bow yourselves to Jehovah, In the beauty of holiness.

30 t remate davanti a lui, o abitanti di tutta la terra! Sí, il mondo è stabile e non sarà smosso.

Be pained before Him, all the earth:

31 S i rallegrino i cieli e gioisca la terra e dicano fra le nazioni: «L'Eterno regna».

Also, established is the world, It is not moved! The heavens rejoice, and the earth is glad, And they say among nations: Jehovah hath reigned.

32 R umoreggi il mare e tutto ciò che è in esso

Roar doth the sea, and its fulness, Exult doth the field, and all that in it,

33 a llora tutti gli alberi della foresta manderanno grida di gioia davanti all'Eterno, perché egli viene a giudicare la terra.

Then sing do trees of the forest, From the presence of Jehovah, For He hath come to judge the earth!

34 C elebrate l'Eterno, perché egli è buono, perché la sua benignità dura in eterno.

Give thanks to Jehovah, for good, For to the age, His kindness,

35 D ite: «Salvaci, o DIO della nostra salvezza! Raccoglici e liberaci dalle nazioni, affinché celebriamo il tuo santo nome e ci gloriamo nel lodarti».

And say, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us, and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Thy holy name, To triumph in Thy praise.

36 B enedetto sia l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, d'eternità in eternità! E tutto il popolo disse: «Amen», e lodò l'Eterno.

Blessed Jehovah, God of Israel, From the age and unto the age;' And all the people say, `Amen,' and have given praise to Jehovah.

37 C osí Davide lasciò Asaf e i suoi fratelli là davanti all'arca, del patto dell'Eterno, perché prestassero continuamente servizio davanti all'arca, secondo le necessità di ogni giorno.

And he leaveth there before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, for Asaph and for his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, according to the matter of a day in its day,

38 L asciò anche Obed-Edom e i suoi sessantotto fratelli (Obed-Edom figlio di Jeduthun, e Hosah come portinai)

both Obed-Edom and their brethren, sixty and eight, and Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah for gatekeepers,

39 e il sacerdote Tsadok e i sacerdoti suoi fratelli davanti al tabernacolo dell'Eterno sull'alto luogo che era a Gabaon,

and Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of Jehovah, in a high place that in Gibeon,

40 p erché offrissero all'Eterno olocausti sull'altare, degli olocausti, continuamente mattina e sera, secondo tutto ciò che sta scritto nella legge dell'Eterno che egli aveva imposto a Israele.

to cause to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah, on the altar of burnt-offering continually, morning and evening, and for all that is written in the law of Jehovah, that He charged on Israel.

41 E con essi erano Heman Jeduthun e gli altri che erano stati scelti e designati per nome per lodare l'Eterno perché la sua benignità dura in eterno.

And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest of those chosen, who were defined by name, to give thanks to Jehovah, for to the age His kindness,

42 C on essi c'erano pure Heman e Jeduthun con trombe e cembali, per quelli che dovevano suonare, e con strumenti musicali per accompagnare i canti di DIO. I figli di Jeduthun dovevano stare alla porta.

and with them -- Heman and Jeduthun -- trumpets and cymbals for those sounding, and instruments of the song of God, and the sons of Jeduthun at the gate.

43 I nfine tutto il popolo fece ritorno ciascuno a casa sua, e Davide ritornò per benedire la propria casa.

And all the people go, each to his house, and David turneth round to bless his house.
