1 C osí fu ultimato tutto il lavoro che Salomone fece eseguire per la casa dell'Eterno. Allora Salomone fece portare tutto le cose che suo padre aveva consacrato: l'argento, l'oro e tutti gli utensili, e li mise nei tesori della casa di DIO.

And all the work that Solomon made for the house of Jehovah is finished, and Solomon bringeth in the sanctified things of David his father, and the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels he hath put among the treasures of the house of God.

2 A llora Salomone radunò a Gerusalemme gli anziani d'Israele e tutti i capi delle tribù, i principi delle famiglie paterne dei figli d'Israele, per portare su l'arca del patto dell'Eterno dalla città di Davide, cioè da Sion.

Then doth Solomon assemble the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, princes of the fathers of the sons of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah from the city of David -- it Zion.

3 T utti gli uomini d'Israele si radunarono presso il re per la festa che cadeva il settimo mese.

And assembled unto the king are all the men of Israel in the feast -- it the seventh month;

4 C osí tutti gli anziani d'Israele vennero e i Leviti, presero l'arca.

and all the elders of Israel come in, and the Levites lift up the ark,

5 E ssi portarono su l'arca, la tenda di convegno e tutti gli utensili sacri che erano nella tenda. Furono i sacerdoti e i Leviti a trasportare queste cose.

and they bring up the ark, and the tent of meeting, and all the vessels of the sanctuary that in the tent; brought them up have the priests, the Levites;

6 I l re Salomone e tutta l'assemblea d'Israele, radunata attorno a lui, si raccolsero davanti all'arca e immolarono una tale quantità di pecore e buoi che non si potevano né contare né calcolare.

and king Solomon and all the company of Israel who are convened unto him before the ark are sacrificing sheep and oxen, that are not counted nor numbered from multitude.

7 I sacerdoti portarono quindi l'arca del patto dell'Eterno al suo posto, nel santuario del tempio, nel luogo santissimo, sotto le ali dei cherubini.

And the priests bring in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, unto the oracle of the house, unto the holy of holies, unto the place of the wings of the cherubs;

8 I cherubini infatti stendevano le loro ali sopra il luogo dell'arca e coprivano dall'alto l'arca e le sue stanghe.

and the cherubs are spreading out wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubs cover over the ark, and over its staves, from above;

9 L e stanghe erano cosí lunghe che le estremità delle stanghe dell'arca si potevano vedere di fronte al luogo santissimo, ma non si vedevano dal di fuori. Esse sono rimaste là fino al giorno d'oggi.

and they lengthen the staves, and the heads of the staves are seen out of the ark on the front of the oracle, and they are not seen without; and it is there unto this day.

10 N ell'arca non c'era nient'altro che le due tavole che Mosè vi aveva deposto al monte Horeb, quando l'Eterno fece un patto con i figli d'Israele, dopo che questi erano usciti dall'Egitto.

There is nothing in the ark but the two tables that Moses gave in Horeb, where Jehovah covenanted with the sons of Israel, in their going out from Egypt.

11 O ra, mentre i sacerdoti uscivano dal luogo santo (tutti i sacerdoti presenti infatti si erano santificati senza osservare l'ordine delle classi,

And it cometh to pass, in the going out of the priests from the sanctuary -- for all the priests who are present have sanctified themselves, there is none to watch by courses,

12 e tutti i Leviti cantori, Asaf, Heman, Jeduthun, i loro figli e i loro fratelli vestiti di bianco lino, con cembali, arpe e cetre stavano in piedi a est dell'altare, e con essi centoventi sacerdoti che suonavano le trombe)

and the Levites, the singers, to all of them, to Asaph, to Heman, to Jeduthun, and to their sons, and to their brethren, clothed in white linen, with cymbals, and with psalteries, and harps, are standing on the east of the altar, and with them priests, to a hundred and twenty, blowing with trumpets --

13 e quando i trombettieri e i cantori come uno solo fecero udire all'unisono la loro voce per lodare e celebrare l'Eterno e alzarono la voce al suono delle trombe, dei cembali e di altri strumenti musicali e lodarono l'Eterno: «Perché è buono, perché la sua benignità dura in eterno», avvenne che la casa, la casa dell'Eterno, fu riempita da una nuvola,

yea, it cometh to pass, as one trumpeters and singers, to sound -- one voice -- to praise and to give thanks to Jehovah, and at the lifting up of the sound with trumpets, and with cymbals, and with instruments of song, and at giving praise to Jehovah, for good, for to the age His kindness, that the house is filled with a cloud -- the house of Jehovah,

14 e i sacerdoti non poterono rimanere a servire a motivo della nuvola, perché la gloria dell'Eterno riempiva la casa di DIO.

and the priests have not been able to stand to minister from the presence of the cloud, for the honour of Jehovah hath filled the house of God.
