1 D avide si costrui delle case nella città di Davide, preparò un posto per l'arca di DIO ed eresse una tenda per essa.

And he maketh for himself houses in the city of David, and prepareth a place for the ark of God, and stretcheth out for it a tent.

2 A llora Davide disse: «Nessuno deve portare l'arca di DIO all'infuori dei Leviti perché l'Eterno ha scelto loro per portare l'arca di DIO e per servirlo per sempre».

Then said David, `None to carry the ark of God, except the Levites, for on them hath Jehovah fixed to carry the ark of God, and to serve Him -- unto the age.'

3 D avide radunò tutto Israele a Gerusalemme, per trasportare l'arca dell'Eterno nel luogo che le aveva preparato.

And David assembleth all Israel unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Jehovah unto its place that he had prepared for it.

4 D avide radunò pure i figli di Aaronne e i Leviti.

And David gathereth the sons of Aaron, and the Levites.

5 D ei figli di Kehath, Uriel, il capo, e i suoi centoventi fratelli

Of sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twenty.

6 d ei figli di Merari, Asaiah, il capo, e i suoi duecentoventi fratelli;

Of sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty.

7 d ei figli di Ghershom, Joel, il capo, e i suoi centotrenta fratelli;

Of sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and thirty.

8 d ei figli di Elitsafan, Scemaiah, il capo, e i suoi duecento fratelli;

Of sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred.

9 d ei figli di Hebron, Eliel, il capo, e i suoi ottanta fratelli;

Of sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty.

10 d ei figli di Uzziel, Amminadab, il capo, e i suoi centododici fratelli.

Of sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve.

11 Q uindi Davide chiamò i sacerdoti Tsadok e Abiathar, e i Leviti Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Scemaiah, Eliel e Amminadab,

And David calleth to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

12 e disse loro: «Voi siete i capi delle case paterne dei Leviti; santificatevi, voi e i vostri fratelli, affinché possiate trasportare l'arca dell'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, nel posto che io le ho preparato.

and saith to them, `Ye heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and ye have brought up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel, unto I have prepared for it;

13 P oiché la prima volta voi non c'eravate e l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, aperse una breccia fra noi, perché non lo avevamo cercato secondo le regole stabilite».

because at the first not ye, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.'

14 C osí i sacerdoti e i Leviti si santificarono per trasportare l'arca dell'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele.

And the priests and the Levites sanctify themselves, to bring up the ark of Jehovah, God of Israel;

15 I figli dei Leviti portarono l'arca di DIO sulle loro spalle per mezzo di stanghe, come aveva ordinato Mosè secondo la parola dell'Eterno.

and sons of the Levites bear the ark of God, as Moses commanded, according to the word of Jehovah, on their shoulder, with staves, above them.

16 D avide ordinò quindi ai capi dei Leviti di designare i loro fratelli cantori con strumenti musicali, arpe, cetre e cembali per alzare suoni di gioia.

And David saith to the heads of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, sounding, to lift up with the voice for joy.

17 P erciò i Leviti designarono Heman, figlio di Joel, tra i suoi fratelli, Asaf, figlio di Berekiah, e tra i figli di Merari, loro fratelli, Ethan, figlio di Kushaiah.

And the Levites appoint Heman son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph son of Berechiah, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan son of Kushaiah;

18 C on loro c'erano i loro fratelli della classe successiva: Zaccaria, Ben, Jaaziel, Scemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Elifalehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom e Jeiel, i portinai.

and with them their brethren, the seconds, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;

19 I cantori Heman, Asaf ed Ethan, per suonare usavano cembali di bronzo;

and the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with cymbals of brass to sound,

20 Z accaria, Aziel, Scemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah e Benaiah suonavano arpe per voci di soprano;

and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jeheil, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries besides virgins,

21 M attithiah, Elifalehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel e Azaziah suonavano cetre sull'ottava per guidare il canto;

and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps, on the octave, to oversee.

22 K enaniah, capo dei Leviti, era incaricato del canto; egli dirigeva il canto, perché competente in questo.

And Chenaniah, head of the Levites, over the burden; he instructeth about the burden, for he intelligent.

23 B erekiah e Elkanah erano portinai presso l'arca.

And Berechiah and Elkanah gatekeepers for the ark.

24 I sacerdoti Scebarniah, Joshafat, Nethaneel, Amasai, Zaccaria, Benaiah e Eliezer, suonavano le trombe davanti all'arca di DIO, mentre Obed-Edom e Jehijah fungevano da portinai presso l'arca.

And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah gatekeepers for the ark.

25 A llora Davide, gli anziani, d'Israele e i capi di migliaia procedettero con gioia a trasportare l'arca del patto dell'Eterno dalla casa di Obed-Edom.

And it is David, and the elders of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, who are going to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah from the house of Obed-Edom with joy;

26 C osí, poiché DIO prestò assistenza ai Leviti, che portavano l'arca del patto dell'Eterno, si offrirono in sacrificio sette torelli e sette montoni.

and it cometh to pass, in God's helping the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrifice seven bullocks and seven rams.

27 D avide indossava un manto di lino fino, come pure tutti i Leviti che portavano l'arca, i cantori e Kenaniah, capo del canto assieme ai cantori; Davide indossava inoltre un efod di lino.

And David is wrapped in an upper robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who are bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah head of the burden of the singers; and on David an Ephod of linen.

28 C osí tutto Israele portò su l'arca del patto dell'Eterno con grida di giubilo e al suono di corni, di trombe, di cembali, di cetre e di arpe.

And all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,

29 O r avvenne che, mentre l'arca del patto dell'Eterno giunse alla città di Davide, Mikal, figlia di Saul, guardando dalla finestra, vide il re Davide che danzava e saltava, e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.

and it cometh to pass, the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is entering in unto the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul is looking through the window, and seeth king David dancing and playing, and despiseth him in her heart.
