1 O r Giosuè era vecchio e avanzato negli anni; e l'Eterno gli disse: «Tu sei vecchio e avanzato negli anni, e rimane ancora una grandissima parte del paese da conquistare.

And Joshua is old, entering into days, and Jehovah saith unto him, `Thou hast become aged, thou hast entered into days; as to the land, very much hath been left to possess.

2 Q uesto è il paese che ancora rimane: tutto il territorio dei Filistei e tutto qello dei Gheshuriti,

`This the land that is left; all the circuits of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

3 d allo Scihor che scorre a est dell'Egitto, fino al confine di Ekron verso nord, (regione che è ritenuta cananea), dei cinque principi dei Filistei: cioè di Gaza, di Ashdod, di Ashkalon, di Gath, di Ekron, e anche gli Avvei,

from Sihor which on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.

4 a sud, tutto il paese dei Cananei, e Mearah che appartiene ai Sidoni, fino ad Afek, fino al confine degli Amorei;

`From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;

5 i l paese dei Ghibliti e tutto il Libano verso l'est, da Baal-Gad, ai piedi del monte Hermon, fino all'ingresso di Hamath;

and the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath:

6 t utti gli abitanti della regione montuosa dal Libano fino alle acque i Misrefoth, e tutti i Sidoni. lo li scaccerò davanti ai figli d'Israele; tu intanto distribuisci a sorte il paese fra gl'Israeliti come eredità, nel modo che ti ho comandato.

all the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians: I -- I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

7 O r dunque dividi questo paese in eredità fra le nove tribú e la metà tribú di Manasse».

`And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' --

8 I Rubeniti e i Gaditi, con l'altra metà tribú, hanno ricevuto la loro eredità, che Mosè diede loro di là dal Giordano, a est, come aveva dato loro Mosè, servo dell'Eterno:

with it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses hath given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Jehovah hath given to them;

9 d a Aroer che è sulle sponde del torrente Arnon e dalla città che è in mezzo alla valle, tutto l'altopiano di Medeba fino a Dibon;

from Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon,

10 t utte le città di Sihon re degli Amorei, che regnava a Heshbon, fino al confine dei figli di Ammon;

and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon,

11 G alaad, il territorio dei Gheshuriti e dei Maakathiti, tutto il monte Hermon e tutto Bashan fino a Salkah;

and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

12 t utto il regno di Og, in Bashan, che regnava ad Ashtaroth e a Edrei, che era l'ultimo superstite dei giganti. Mosè infatti li aveva sconfitti e scacciati.

all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses doth smite them, and dispossess them;

13 M a i figli d'Israele non scacciarono i Gheshuriti e i Maakathiti; perciò i Gheshuriti e i Maakathiti abitano in mezzo a Israele fino al giorno d'oggi.

and the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.

14 S oltanto alla tribú di Levi, Mosè non aveva assegnato alcuna eredità; i sacrifici fatti col fuoco all'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, sono la sua eredità, come egli aveva loro detto.

Only, to the tribe of Levi he hath not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Jehovah, God of Israel, is its inheritance, as He hath spoken to it.

15 M osè dunque aveva dato alla tribú dei figli di Ruben la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie;

And Moses giveth to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;

16 i l loro territorio andava da Aroer che è sulle sponde del torrente Arnon e dalla città che è in mezzo alla valle, tutto l'altopiano presso Medeba,

and the border is to them from Aroer, which on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba,

17 H eshbon e tutte le sue città che sono sull'altopiano: Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,

Heshbon, and all its cities which in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,

18 J ahtsah, Kedemoth, Mefaath,

and Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19 K irjathaim, Sibmah, Tsereth-Hashahar sul monte della valle,

and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley,

20 B eth-Peor, le pendici del Pisgah e Beth-Jescimoth;

and Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth,

21 t utte le città dell'altopiano e tutto il regno di Sihon, re degli Amorei che regnava a Heshbon, che Mosè sconfisse con i principi di Madian: Evi, Rekem, Tsur, Hur e Reba, principi vassalli di Sihon, che abitavano il paese.

and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

22 I figli d'Israele uccisero pure con la spada Balaam, figlio di Beor, l'indovino, insieme agli altri da loro uccisi tra i Madianiti.

And Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.

23 A l territorio dei figli di Ruben faceva da confine il Giordano. Questa fu l'eredità dei figli di Ruben secondo le loro famiglie, con le città e i loro villaggi.

And the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and border; this the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.

24 M osè aveva pure dato alla tribú di Gad, ai figli di Gad, la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie.

And Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;

25 I l loro territorio comprendeva Jazer, tutte le città di Galaad, la metà del paese dei figli di Ammon fino ad Aroer, che è di fronte a Rabbah,

and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which on the front of Rabbah,

26 e da Heshbon fino a Ramath-Mitspah e Betonim, e da Mahanaim fino al confine di Debir,

and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,

27 e nella valle, Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimrah, Sukkoth e Tsafon, il resto del regno di Sihon re di Heshbon, con il Giordano per confine, fino all'estremità del Mar di Kinnereth, di là dal Giordano, a est.

and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.

28 Q uesta fu l'eredità dei figli di Gad secondo le loro famiglie, con le città e i loro villaggi.

This the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.

29 M osè aveva pure dato alla mezza tribú di Manasse, ai figli di Manasse, la loro parte, secondo le loro famiglie.

And Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.

30 I l loro territorio comprendeva da Mahanaim, tutto Bashan, tutto il regno di Og re di Bashan, tutti i villaggi di Jair che sono in Bashan, in tutto sessanta città.

And their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which in Bashan, sixty cities;

31 L a metà di Galaad, Ashtaroth e Edrei, città del regno di Og in Bashan, toccarono ai figli di Makir, figlio di Manasse, cioè, alla metà dei figli di Makir secondo le loro famiglie.

and the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.

32 T ali sono le parti che Mosè aveva distribuito in eredità nelle pianure di Moab, al di là del Giordano, sulla sponda opposta a Gerico, a est.

These they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, Jericho, eastward;

33 M a alla tribú di Levi Mosè non aveva dato alcuna eredità; l'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele, era la sua eredità, come egli aveva loro detto.

and to the tribe of Levi Moses gave not an inheritance; Jehovah, God of Israel, Himself their inheritance, as He hath spoken to them.
