1 P oi l'intera assemblea dei figli d'Israele si radunò a Sciloh, e là eressero la tenda di convegno. Il paese era loro sottomesso.

And all the company of the sons of Israel are assembled Shiloh, and they cause the tent of meeting to tabernacle there, and the land hath been subdued before them.

2 M a rimanevano tra i figli d'Israele sette tribú, che non avevano ancora ricevuto la loro eredità.

And there are left among the sons of Israel who have not shared their inheritance, seven tribes,

3 C osì Giosuè disse ai figli d'Israele: «Fino a quando trascurerete di andare a prendere possesso del paese che l'Eterno, il DIO dei vostri padri, vi ha dato

and Joshua saith unto the sons of Israel, `Till when are ye remiss to go in to possess the land which He hath given to you, Jehovah, God of your fathers?

4 S cegliete fra voi tre uomini per ogni tribú e io li manderò. Essi si leveranno, percorreranno il paese, ne faranno la descrizione in base alla loro parte d'eredità, e poi torneranno da me.

Give for you three men for a tribe, and I send them, and they rise and go up and down through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance, and come in unto me,

5 E ssi lo divideranno in sette parti: Giuda rimarrà nel suo territorio a sud e la casa di Giuseppe rimarrà nel suo territorio a nord.

and they have divided it into seven portions -- Judah doth stay by its border on the south, and the house of Joseph do stay by their border on the north --

6 V oi farete dunque la descrizione del paese in sette parti; la porterete qui da me, e io tirerò la sorte per voi qui, davanti all'Eterno, il nostro DIO.

and ye describe the land seven portions, and have brought in unto me hither, and I have cast for you a lot here before Jehovah our God;

7 M a i Leviti non devono avere alcuna parte in mezzo a voi, perché il sacerdozio dell'Eterno è la loro eredità; e Gad, Ruben e la mezza tribú di Manasse hanno già ricevuto la loro eredità al di là del Giordano a est, che Mosè, servo dell'Eterno, ha data loro».

for there is no portion to the Levites in your midst, for the priesthood of Jehovah their inheritance, and Gad, and Reuben, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses servant of Jehovah gave to them.'

8 Q uegli uomini dunque si levarono e partirono; e Giosuè a coloro che andavano a descrivere il paese comandò e disse: «Andate, percorrete il paese e fatene la descrizione; poi tornate da me, e qui io tirerò la sorte per voi davanti all'Eterno, a Sciloh».

And the men rise and go; and Joshua commandeth those who are going to describe the land, saying, `Go, and walk up and down through the land, and describe it, and turn back unto me, and here I cast for you a lot before Jehovah in Shiloh.'

9 C osì quegli uomini andarono, percorsero il paese e fecero in un libro la descrizione in sette parti secondo le città; poi tornarono da Giosuè nell'accampamento di Sciloh.

And the men go, and pass over through the land, and describe it by cities, in seven portions, on a book, and they come in unto Joshua, unto the camp, Shiloh.

10 A llora Giosuè tirò le sorti per loro a Sciloh davanti all'Eterno, e là sparti il paese tra i figli d'Israele, secondo le loro divisioni.

And Joshua casteth for them a lot in Shiloh before Jehovah, and there Joshua apportioneth the land to the sons of Israel, according to their divisions.

11 F u tirata a sorte la parte della tribú dei figli di Beniamino, secondo le loro famiglie; il territorio a loro toccato in sorte aveva i confini tra i figli di Giuda e i figli di Giuseppe.

And a lot goeth up the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, for their families; and the border of their lot goeth out between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.

12 D al lato nord il loro confine iniziava dal Giordano, risaliva il versante a nord di Gerico, saliva per la regione montuosa verso ovest e terminava al deserto di Beth-Aven.

And the border is to them at the north side from the Jordan, and the border hath gone up unto the side of Jericho on the north, and gone up through the hill-country westward, and its outgoings have been at the wilderness of Beth-Aven;

13 D i là il confine saliva a Luz, sul versante a sud di Luz (che è Bethel); scendeva quindi ad Ataroth-Addar, presso il monte che si trovava a sud di Beth-Horon inferiore.

and the border hath gone over thence to Luz, unto the side of Luz (it Beth-El) southward, and the border hath gone down Atroth-Addar, by the hill that on the south of the lower Beth-Horon;

14 P oi il confine si estendeva, ripiegando sul lato ovest verso sud dal monte posto di fronte a Beth-Horon, a sud, per terminare a Kirjath-Baal, (che è Kiriath-Jearim), città dei figli di Giuda. Questo era il lato ovest.

and the border hath been marked out, and hath gone round to the corner of the sea southward, from the hill which at the front of Beth-Horon southward, and its outgoings have been unto Kirjath-Baal (it Kirjath-Jearim), a city of the sons of Judah: this the west quarter.

15 I l lato sud iniziava all'estremità di Kirjath-Jearim. Il confine si estendeva verso ovest fino a toccare la sorgente delle acque di Neftoah;

And the south quarter from the end of Kirjath-Jearim, and the border hath gone out westward, and gone out unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;

16 p oi il confine scendeva all'estremità del monte che si trova di fronte alla valle del figlio di Hinnom, che è nella valle dei giganti, al nord, e scendeva per la valle di Hinnom, sul versante sud della città dei Gebusei, fino a En-Roghel.

and the border hath come down unto the extremity of the hill which on the front of the valley of the son of Hinnom, which in the valley of the Rephaim northward, and hath gone down the valley of Hinnom unto the side of Jebusi southward, and gone down En-Rogel,

17 P iegava poi verso il nord e giungeva a En-Scemesh; si estendeva quindi verso Gheliloth, che è di fronte alla salita di Adui, e scendeva al sasso di Bo-han, figlio di Ruben;

and hath been marked out on the north, and gone out to En-Shemesh, and gone out unto Geliloth, which over-against the ascent of Adummim, and gone down the stone of Bohan son of Reuben,

18 p oi passava per il versante nord di fronte all'Arabah e discendeva verso l'Arabah.

and passed over unto the side over-against Arabah northward, and gone down to Arabah;

19 I l confine passava quindi per il versante nord di Beth-Hoglah e terminava alla punta nord del Mar Salato, all'estremità sud del Giordano. Questo era il confine a sud.

and the border hath passed over unto the side of Beth-Hoglah northward, and the outgoings of the border have been unto the north bay of the salt sea, unto the south extremity of the Jordan; this the south border;

20 I l Giordano serviva di confine dal lato est. Questa fu l'eredità dei figli di Beniamino in base ai suoi confini tutt'intorno, secondo le loro famiglie.

and the Jordan doth border it at the east quarter; this the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by its borders round about, for their families.

21 L e città della tribú dei figli di Beniamino, secondo le loro famiglie, furono: Gerico, Beth-Hoglah, Emek-Ketsits,

And the cities for the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, for their families, have been Jericho, and Beth-Hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

22 B eth-Arabah, Tsemaraim, Bethel,

and Beth-Arabah, Zemaraim, and Beth-El,

23 A vvim, Parah, Ofrah,

and Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,

24 K efar-Haammoni, Ofni e Gheba: dodici città con i loro villaggi;

and Chephar-Haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities and their villages.

25 G abaon, Ramah, Beeroth,

Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

26 M itspeh, Kefirah, Motsah,

and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

27 R ekem, Irpeel, Taralah,

and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

28 T selah, Efel, Gebus, (che è Gerusalemme), Ghibeath e Kirjath: quattordici città con i loro villaggi. Questa fu l'eredità dei figli di Beniamino, secondo le loro famiglie.

and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi (it Jerusalem), Gibeath, Kirjath: fourteen cities and their villages. This the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, for their families.
