1 « Canto dei pellegrinaggi.» Quelli che confidano nell'Eterno sono come il monte Sion, che non può essere smosso. ma rimane in eterno.

A Song of the Ascents. Those trusting in Jehovah as Mount Zion, It is not moved -- to the age it abideth.

2 C ome Gerusalemme è circondata dai monti, cosí l'Eterno sta intorno al suo popolo, ora e per sempre.

Jerusalem! mountains round about her, And Jehovah round about His people, From henceforth even unto the age.

3 P oiché lo scettro dell'empietà non riposerà per sempre sull'eredità dei giusti, perché i giusti non stendano le loro mani a compiere il male.

For the rod of wickedness resteth not On the lot of the righteous, That the righteous put not forth on iniquity their hands.

4 O Eterno, fa' del bene ai buoni e a quelli che sono retti di cuore.

Do good, O Jehovah, to the good, And to the upright in their hearts.

5 M a quelli che vanno dietro a vie tortuose, l'Eterno li farà andare con gli operatori d'iniquità. Pace, sia su Israele.

As to those turning their crooked ways, Jehovah causeth them to go with workers of iniquity. Peace on Israel!
